Fantastic people at lochloosa harbor fish camping resort. The gentleman in the general store this morning not only assisted in getting my fishing bait for me but also came out and helped my girlfriend and I launch the boat. Also a super nice lady across the street assisted my girlfriend in locating and gave her a ride in her nice golf cart to the restroom and also welcomed us.People like this that go above and beyond the call are amazing. We will be back. Thank you so much again everyone at the harbor!

I have visited a few times over the last several years. My in-laws are permanent residents there and every time I have visited, it is always a very nice, friendly and clean place to visit. I have never encountered anything I would consider noisy, unfriendly, or not a place to take your family.Pictures have been one of my favorite places to take at sunset!

So glad I stopped , as I was traveling 301 from Jacksonville! diner is now open & oh my at the food. All seems to be homemade by the lady who works there. I had her BBQ Chicken & it was a WINNER & the BANANA PUDDING IS NO JOKE. Plus you have the lake & a cold beer to relax..

Very kind and accommodating staff and owners. Was supposed to contract for 8 weeks but it was cut. Very understanding when I arrived late due to delayed flight and checked in a day late. Then, left due to no work. Gave me credit which they didn’t have to do. Beautiful views of the sunset. RV sites are spaced out and not on top of one another. Cabin well equipped. Not fancy but you’re on the lake and get a beautiful peaceful view of the sunset. There are a couple small stores nearby for basics and Gainesville is close. Did not have WiFi or cable but it’s more for fishing and being outside. You can rent a canoe cheap all day long. Bass are huge and can see them jumping in the water. Nice, peaceful spot. Nancy, who cleans is very pleasant. Always fresh towels and whatever you need. Great people. I sure wish I could’ve stayed. Picturesque views

Old Florida at its best. Quite a few permanent trailers. 4 nice cabins, boat slips and ramp. This is the crappie capital.

This is Old Florida at its best! Some of the best bass and Crappie fishing around! Great people, beautiful, and old world charming.

It was like being intoxicated but without any drugs or alcohol. Kindest people working in THE Diner and THE Adjacent Store, and those chilling, sitting in the chairs outside in the shade talking amongst themselves, watching tourists like us swoop in "to take a peak at the lake" but unexpectedly staying to enjoy a delicious meal from The Diner(you have to order the Low Country Boil!), a breathtaking sunset, the peacefulness and tranquility that went right through to our bones. Those memories and feelings from that half day make my arm hairs stand up when I think about it. Like JJGrey said "when you find a place like that you hold onto it". We will definitely be back to this hidden gem.

Lovely spot on the lake. Go fishing, stay in the cabins, explore Hawthorne. Great people.

It's advertised as an "Old Florida" fish camp, and it is. Cabins, camp grounds, bait and tackle and diner - pretty much as it was in 1960. There are some upgrades, but remember the 1960's postcard scenes. If you've come to fish, it's got all U need. Now if the fish are biting, it doesn't matter about anything but lodging, boat ramp, bait, tackle, ice, cool drinks and a good cleaning station (over the water). But don't expect to buy marine fuel here or even nearby. Now when the bite is NOT ON, as can be the case occasionally, U may still witness the greatest sunsets that money can buy; and relax and realize that a poor day on the water still beats a good day at work. Oh, meant to tell U you about the serenade from the nearby train as it announces its approach to the camp track crossing off highway 301. And rely on your GPS because you come upon the turn without much warning.

If you're a JJ Grey fan, it's a place between Jacksonville and Orlando.

Was a disappointment when we arrived. Pretty dense, many units are permanent and in disrepair. My wife went to check in and felt brushed off and made to feel she was interrupting the staff. We had prepaid for 3 days but drove away after seeing our assigned site.Luckily we found the KOA not far away.

A nice place along the highway to stop in to for the night. Didn’t know how nice the views were here until we got in. The people here are super friendly and the rates are very fair. A popular place among fishers for crappie.

Great out of the way Quiet campground, with store.Close to Hawthorne for food and supplies. We were there off season, during season November to April there is also a restaurant open daily. Low clearance over RR tracks between 301 and campground, also short distance (35-40 Ft) between tracks and Hwy 301. Just be aware of the length of your rig when leaving.

First time back at lochloosa lake in 6 years , And Never Again . My brother and his son & daughter came up to visit back in May , so we went fishing in Lochloosa lake at the harbor resort boat ramp . The lady inside made sure that we knew she was the new owner . Everything was fine until we arrived back at the park around 5:10 pm and the maintenance guy in the golf cart was drinking beer & giving us bad looks making me feel unsafe for my family and uncomfortable , and then he left us alone and went to go drive around & Holler at the people living permanently in their run down campers . These people were screaming at the top of their lungs, we thought there was going to be a fight . I get that this a campsite and not the Ritz Carlton , but the low quality and dangerous people that live and work here year round , I do not feel safe for me and my family . We will never go back to this place . Lochloosa Harbor Resort does NOT LIKE MINORITIES , but by chance that they do , Everyone that is employed or who lives here Does Not Like Us .

I've been fishing this lake for quite a while. I've seen some changes with ownership and people that work there. I've never stayed at the cabins, but have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of minnows from there. That has come to an end as I have listen to the lies and been a witness of Troy's rude demeanor and racist behavior towards black people. Seeing how he gives preferential treatment to white people in regards to charging more for minnows as to even give less for the amount chargedAs a decent person, I would say to all people... find a place that treats you equal. They won't get anymore of my money. So sad.

Our family rented all 6 cabins for the Labor day weekend. Cabins remodel was nice. There were a few issues but Troy and Linda tried to take care of.They r very friendly and we enjoyed the party. Our only real issue was THE MAINTENANCE GUY. HE IS THE RUDEST PERSON. Everyone else r pleasant but he needs to go. U don't yell at ur customers the way he yelled at my husband.

What a great place and fun one-tank getaway for Spring Break! Plenty of fishing even for Googans like us who don't have a boat. Multiple docks and ample banks. I didn't expect much after staying a other fish camps. But, the rooms were very nice and a major upgrade from what I had in mind. The staff was kind, courteous, and prompt with any request. The grounds were well maintained and the having the store there was awesome! My 8 yr old was especially excited because it felt safe enough I was able to let him gain some independence and go buy goodies by himself and with the little boy he befriended in the next cabin. The restaurant was closed, so I didn't get to try it, but from the outside it looked just as good as the rest of the camp! There is so much to do in the surrounding area (even free attractions), if you don't feel liking fishing one day you will definitely not be bored. If I had to pick one thing to nit pick, it would be the water in the cabins.Again, it's nitpicking because after all, it's a fish camp. You can't really expect a water filtration system on each cabin. It's well water, in Florida, during the rainy season, so it is going to be rather odorous of sulfur. If it bothers you too much, just use a bottle of water to brush your teeth and dry shampoo (I had to resort to that for my beard but was fine to wash my hair). We will 100% be back. Can't wait until the next adventure at Lochloosa Harbor Resort!

Like this place. The bait shop/store has nice people. They will tell you what to use and where to go to catch fish; they know that the more people catch, the better the business. Hate the places that are shy with advice. We stayed overnight in one of their cottages. Clean, small, what you'd expect at a fish camp; just thought the price was a little high. Stayed in bigger cottages at other fish camps for either the same price or sightly less. However, our stay was fine, and the folk that worked there were very accommodating.

This place is great. Stayed two night's in one the awesome cabins, parked my boat in the slip right in front of the cabin and my truck. Staff members give helpful tips on where to catch fish and what bait to use and the friendliest people you will meet. One of the best fish camps I've stayed in. I hated to leave. I highly recommend this place.
