This place is incredible. The food is fresh and delicious, they have a nice variety of products, and the staff is super friendly. It feels great to know the meat my family is eating was grown right now the road and that the money we spend there is going back into our community.

Best quality and fresh meat (beef and pork), no bad chemicals and good prices.They don't sell Chicken or any other meat except beef, pork and occasionally lamb.Only open on Fridays.The meat is usually processed and packaged one or two days prior, so it's usually packaged the Wednesday or Thursday of that week.No additional chemicals such as Sodium Tripolyphosphate, BHA etc.Oh, and they sell organ meat / offal such as tongue, and l think liver.I got ground lamb once for a great price and it was the best ground lamb I ever bought.Go early on Friday at opening to buy the rare drops (like ground lamb or offal).

My first visit after several years of wanting to go was excellent. Everyone was friendly, prices were just 1 or 2 dollars higher than big box stores but id always pay more to support local products. I was there apt 9:30 and mostly everything was still in stock. I will defintely be returning.

All their meat is aged and excellent.Only open to the public on Fridays and, because of the quality and price, they are pretty much picked clean by 2-3:00.Whatever you do, don't buy the Minute Steaks because I buy every one they have, pound them out, season them with Bad Byron's Butt Rub, quick-sear them and vacuum pack them for the best roast beef sandwiches I've ever had!

Great place. Beef prices are on par with Publix but it tastes way better. Pork prices are better. Hours depend on University closures, and they don't have certain cuts at all times - call ahead. They also have lamb once or twice a year. Also you can call ahead for custom cuts and larger sides of meat. They also make their own dog food and have bones / feet / etc.

After living in Gainesville a year and a half, I decided to finally check out the meat they had for sale. Very impressed with the wide selection of meats to choose from and the prices are indeed tremendous. From what I can tell, the meat is good quality, but haven’t prepared any yet.

All kinds of meat locally sourced. If you have questions there is a wealth of knowledge right there as the students are ready to answer all your questions. Trust me, I know nothing about meat other than how to cook and eat it, but these men and women make me comfortable all while helping me figure out what I really want. Make sure you're first in line Friday as the best things sell pit quick. Well worth it!

Great place to purchase meats. Ordering was limited to online during COVID, but hopeful they will open soon. Cash/check required as they don't take cards. Very knowledgeable about cuts and prices are reasonable.

Made my first purchase at the meat lab last Friday. 22$ got me huge portions of country style pork ribs, beef and beef bones for the dog. That alone made me happy.Fast forward to this week. Had the ribs earlier in the week and they were delish. For some reason I usually get some negative reactions, sometimes headaches from store bought pork...something commonly attributed to lunch meat.... I had no off feelings after eating UF pork.Today we made the beef. These we the best steaks I have had in a long time. You really can taste the difference, the marbeling of fat, the flavorfulness of the meat....tender, tender, tender!With the cost of red meat being so high, we would buy the cheap cuts and at that, only when on sale.I challenge you to pick up a pack of beef and compare . Like another reviewer posted, this is high quality meat at Walmart prices !

I absolutely LOVE the cuts of meat that can be purchased here!! Here's a simple analogy:. The quality of meat is equivalent to Whole Foods, but the prices are comparable to Walmart! ABSOLUTELY THE BEST MEAT EVER!!!!! Oh & Mr. Tommy Estevez is the nicest guy on Earth!!!!

I go here to buy meat for myself and my dog. The quality you get for the price can't be beat. My extremely picky dog loves their rolls of dog food, and their burgers and skirt steaks are amazing.
