Love this place. Big selection even though the store may not be that big. Staff is super friendly and even helpful with my scared GSD "puppy" that can seem intimidating. The ferrets are adorable and they have bunnies and other small fluff balls too. 😉 Highly recommend.

Had to get some dogfood. Didn't have my brand but I bought a comparable brand of Blue Buffalo. The store is small but well stocked and very clean. Neat and orderly. Staff was helpful when I asked about a certain brand. This store has been there forever. Check it out.

This is a wonderful store. Great staff. Full of information. Great fish.. Affordable prices.The last fish and 4 snails we had for over 2 years. Our Beta out lived most.. 3 of our snails got away.. But we had one left.. So we upgraded our tank. Got 3 more snails so Gary would not be a lone. And 4 glo tetras they are doing great so far.

The employees here are very helpful in finding and informing you about items. I had bought my first ferret here just to find out something was wrong with him and they were making me sick. I called just a few days later asking if I could bring him back and explained that I believed I was allergic. The lady on the phone, I believe her name was Amanda, tried convincing me otherwise but said she’d speak to her manager. She took me off hold and told me to come in for the refund. She sounded like she was angry but trying to be nice and immediately hung up. I came in and a lady who I believe could’ve been Amanda, not 100% sure since there was no name tag, tried to catch me in a lie by saying “didn’t you say you already have another ferret” that I got just a day or two before this ferret and then said “are you sure this was him I could’ve sworn he was bigger” as if I was returning a random pet. Not to mention when I first walked in the door for a return I kindly explained who I was and what I was there for and everyone’s mood seemed to change. That made me feel like they were talking bad about me for no reason. The staff here just seemed passive aggressive and rude when I was just trying to explain my concern and be nice.

In May of 2023 I got my wife a dog stroller for her two babies. Took it down to Fort Lauderdale and one of the wheels had a problem staying on. Brought it back to Pet Supermarket and had them take a look at it and they found a slight defect and gladly replaced it with no problem. They stand behind there products.

The employees are friendly and very helpful. They have some fantastic products, and I routinely get a 5.00 off discount since I shop there regularly. I love that you can place your order in advance, and they'll have it ready for you. The staff helped me out with some great food and products for a cat I have that has allergies. Marlie and the rest of the staff are fantastic, and my dog and cats are happy I shop here!

One of the best local pet stores in town. They get to know you and your animals to a point that you feel like family. They may not have everything the large box stores have, but what they lack in over priced, cheaply made products they more than make up for in customer service and knowledge. You can’t go wrong.

I don’t shop here often. I prefer Earth Pets. However, I needed a cat carrier. I went in and this is exactly why I don’t shop here… I walked in and I had to go find someone to help me. I know companies make their employees stay busy and multi task, but I don’t like having to sift through the entire store to find one thing. I’m not trying to be a Karen and the store is very nicely stocked, but I would prefer a little hands on help while shopping the floor.

I am and have been a steady customer since sometime in the '70's. We have rescue kitteths/sisters. The staff are always very helpful, kind and even willing to carry my purchases to my car. They have such a wide variety of pet supplies that I could spend hours just looking around.

The most compassionate and caring of any pet store in Gainesville! The Pet Supermarket I am talkng about is the one on NW 13th Street in Gainesville Florida. I am taking care of three outdoor cats after my mother passed away in late August. They are strictly outdoor cats and I left the shed door open for them because it was raining hard. Instead of going into the shed these cats were laying on the back porch by their food bowls waiting for food laying in big puddles of water. I was very concerned and did not know what to do about them so I called the Pet Supermarket. Kara took the time to listen to me and advise me in the best way that I could handle the situation and I'm happy to say that I did sosuccessfully thanks to her. When I called up today to compliment her, I talked to Amanda who is the manager. She was equally compassionate and very very nice. I am very grateful for this business being in Gainesville Florida..

Love this store! All of the Staff have been super nice and they all just love to come over to say hello to my pup Ace when he comes with me. Prices are average with other local pet stores and they offer a rewards program. Everything I have purchased has been of great quality and they have a huge selection to choose from!

Super friendly and helpful staff. I walked in was immediately greeted and asked if I needed help finding anything. Everyone was all smiles and super nice the manager was helping a concerned little girl with her hamster and reassuring her it was doing ok and that she was doing an awesome job as a pet owner.

My old dog needed an egg crate foam dog bed. I called ahead, and the representative (without being asked) physically confirmed that they did, indeed, have that type of bed in store. Don't often get that type of telephone service anymore, I am very thankful 🙂

I went to pick up an item that was listed as being in stock. I could not locate the item and asked an employee. They went and looked where they and I assumed the product would be located. Employees could not locate the item either and stated they must be out of stock. Employee never checked inventory on computer and would not check anywhere else in the store. Unfortunately I had to go to another store and buy my own I was looking for.

Ya know, owning a pet is always pricey, but pet stores are virtually highway robbers. As far as a big-box pet supply store, Pet Supermarket in Gainesville, Florida is fine. A clerk there was very helpful in choosing g the right size halter and in locating other items. The store itself is dark, cramped and merchandise is very crowded.*3 outta 5 ⭐️ is still above 50%, which means above average.

Been inside a few times in the past but never realized how nice the selection was until I visited again the other day. It seems like a small store from outside, but I was very satisfied by the variety of dog food, dog treats, cat food, and cat treats available. I also saw there were fish, birds, guinea pigs, and other small pets for sale which I never realized were available in this location. Now that I know they have what I want here, no more driving across town to the other pet stores for me...

My mission was to buy some tropical fish, specifically some algae eating catfish. One of their tanks had about five of them, all of which were DEAD. Could have removed them from the tank?? Other tanks contained dead fish as well. Sad!

It was great ! They were out of the bird feed I normally get, but I was able to get a better deal on a different kind. The employees are always so kind and helpful when I go there. It's a very nice place to shop. Very welcoming and friendly.

Great prices comparatively. Always friendly staff. They all wanted to touch my dog I was carrying to keep her off the floor but figure out her harness size, and didn't sanitize anything 🤷🏽‍♀️ I've been there a lot within the last several weeks since I got my puppy. Same thing every time. Everyone is really really nice they just don't care about the pandemic.
