Not for coffee lovers!!Really cute place with plenty of indoor seating and outdoor patio seatings available. Plus with plenty charging spots for indoor seating!!The coffee I got was…sugar syrup…we ordered two vanilla lattes and one had twice as much sugar as other…clearly lack of consistency on part of the Baristas. I think—if you are lookikg for a place specific for coffee like we were (there are better options within Gainesville such as Pascal’s or Cympplify)—but as a package if you are also looking for food options, this has a great selection. Overall, good vibes and atmosphere, not so good coffee. Will come again to try their breakfast menu when Im hungry!!

Great study place with a variety of drinks and snacks.They have numerous outlets, so it's great for group studying sessions. The cafe is within walking distance of some very cool places, like the Hippodrome. They take advantage of their location by having plenty of seating outside. The last time I was here, my friends and I ordered their chai lattes and cheese quesadillas. The service was fast and our order was delicious!

There is no way not to absolutely adore this quaint coffee shop. It's located in the Sun Center Easr adjacent to Gainesville's historic Hypodrome Theatre. It's across the street from Starbucks which is nationally known. But keep strolling past that famous place if you want better food, coffee and ambiance. Even the prices are better. I purchased coffee and multiple pastries last night so when I wake up early the next morning I'll be able to sit on my terrace overlooking Maude's and relax knowing I'm lucky to have shopped there. Great food, delightful wait staff and a cozy interior that will make you want to sit and relax.Parking: Adequate Wheelchair accessibility: Wide door

Maude's Cafe serves up an absolutely delicious chocolate cheesecake. The rich chocolate flavor is balanced perfectly with the creamy cheesecake, making for an indulgent dessert that will leave you feeling satisfied without feeling overly full. The texture of the cheesecake is also spot on, with a creamy, velvety smoothness that melts in your mouth.The Ice Chai Latte is another great offering at Maude's Cafe. The chai flavor is strong and authentic, and the iced version is perfect for a hot summer day. The latte is well-balanced and not too sweet, making it a refreshing and satisfying pick-me-up. Overall, Maude's Cafe is definitely worth a visit for the chocolate cheesecake and Ice Chai Latte alone.

This is a cute and cozy coffee shop. There are a variety of coffees here to choose from. If you visit Downtown Gainesville, you can surely give this coffee place a try. Outdoor seating is also available.

love the vibe here, the employees are friendly and they many selection for cakes which I love very much. The setting of the tables are also interesting, good place to stay for afternoons with large or small groups or just by yourself🙌🏽

Not really a nice experience for me. The benches inside are really small and not comfortable for studying for a long time. Also, it is kind of dark inside. Worth to mention, you need to ask for the password for the rest rooms and walk a bit by leaving the shop to find them. Check out the yard, though. It is cool and you feel being downtown.

Chill vibe, during school time it's mostly full of students study.The coffee is pretty good, light food like sandwiches, bagels, muffins, cake..When it's not too full you can have a nice cup of coffee when sitting outside around cute small plaza. (relatively more quiet)

Having so many game choices was our favorite part as we walked across Maude's while checking out Downtown during a trip. I'm not going to lie when I say we were kind of unsure if we were in the right place once we sat, but apparently someone said it's a bar at night? Or that it used to be a bar? I'm still not sure, but that isn't the point. The breakfast sandwiches and cold brews were excellent! We spent a lot of time playing Othello, sipping coffee, and took home a "Johnny Cash" which is a chocolate espresso bundt cake better than anyone's grandma could ever make. It gave us life. We would still return again... and leave with the entire bundt cake.

I came here so many times ever since I was a child, and this was always our favorite cafe in Gainesville. Situated on a quaint plaza in historic Gainesville, there isn’t a better place to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. Or perhaps one of their many board games! Or grabbing a drink at the Sidecar Bar next door. Treat yourself to a true Gainesville treat!

What a great coffee cafe! If you are in downtown Gainesville and you want food crafted with quality and love- stop in at Maudes! The options were great and inclusive for those with dietary restrictions-vegan or vegetarian and the coffee was real. I’m here during Covid and I’m so happy they have a large patio where I could comfortably eat my meal and drink my coffee outside.

Little over 6$ for a small coconut milk latte. I was looking for more of an espresso coffee shop drink that you get with the cute milk foam designs but instead it seems I received a cup of coffee from a pot with coconut milk added. The drink was bitter with a burnt aftertaste. I want my money back.EDIT: The barista noticed that I wasn't drinking my drink and asked if I would like something else. That was a very kind thing to do and I really appreciate them taking the time to make my first experience a good one. :) Apparently the coconut milk isn't good for warm lattes.

I've gone to maude's for years and i've never had a bad experience. Sometimes my bf and i pick up breakfast or brunch, my favorite is usually whichever quiche they have. I also love the italian sodas, you can choose whichever syrups you want! It's super fun. They also have a shelf of board games and an area with posters, business cards, free condoms etc which is always great.

This place is awesome. Was visiting gainseville and stopped here instead of Starbucks and it was the best decision. Bacon egg and cheese was amazing. So was the burrito. Coffee is also extremely fresh. Recommended!

A local staple and favorite, this little coffee shop is somewhat of an open secret for really good and creative coffees and teas. I've spent many days and evenings in their patio area catching up with friends, doing work on my laptop, or just enjoying the day. They've got cozy indoor seating, a relaxing and shaded outdoor patio, good music, and even board games for you and your friends. A perfect little date spot, and/or for starting your downtown outing with friends. And being in the Sun Center, it remains a staple to hit on your way to Boca Fiesta, the Hippodrome, Palomino, Liquid Ginger, or the many other great spots that sit right around it. If you know, you know.Vegetarian options: If you're vegetarian or vegan, you're in good hands. Eh, I like the atmosphere and the food is decent but attentiveness not so much.I came in for a pickup order and there were two clerks working. Neither of them said a word to me. I figured the food wasn't ready yet so I stuck around for about ten minutes. Finally, one of them asked if I needed something. I said I was there for a pickup. It turns out the food was ready the whole time.

The food portions are worth the money. However, the service could’ve been friendlier. Maybe they should direct those who look lost or are first time customers. One employee was a bit aggressive in their approach but the food was good.

Loooved this little place! Super cozy and had an amazing experience. They made me a frozen hot chocolate with espresso and it was sooo tasty. My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed our food as well. 10/10 would return!! Also, GET THE BLT WITH ROSEMARY BREAD. You won't regret it 💕

Very cozy coffee shop! It's on the expensive side, $7 for an iced coffee w/o syrup. But, the coffee is delicious and their Monin syrup selection is incredible. I didn't even know Monin sold a candy corn flavor??Sausage egg and cheese was incredible and we loved sitting in the back of the building next to the funky alien DJ portrait on the wall.

After visiting 9 local Gainesville coffee shops, I finally picked my favorite....MAUDES! I haven't had an espresso drink there I disliked thus far. In fact, I requested a pound of the espresso beans they use for Christmas gifts! The staff is friendly and accommodating, even when I take a year choosing my coffee of the day. 😆 Amber is always up for a quick convo, even within minutes of their closing. My son loves the Turkey BLT and the Signature Maudes milkshake. Amber makes a delicious gingerbread latte with a triple shot at 8pm! 🤣Parking: Parking is nearly impossible but worth paying to get an awesome latte!

This is an impressive coffee shop with a great back story. It's clean and inviting; it's a space you want to be in. They have excellent seating options. The coffee is fantastic and the baked good looked amazing. Maude's adds a nice layer to the downtown area. The service was also very good.

Maude's is a nice place to sit and chill down town, especially if you're a smoker because they have a covered patio area. They also provide board games, and just an overall nice atmosphere.Unfortunately however, their prices have become really unreasonable over the past few years, especially when there's a Starbucks across the street that sells everything they do for half price. I wish I could say that the quality is better from this locally owned small business, but it's usually not.There's also usually a small congregation of homeless people loitering, who don't mind pestering people for change or smokes.
