Always AMAZING!!!! My husband & I have stayed at 5 different beach rental properties Scott has to offer & we've loved them all.. They are always clean, cozy & unique in their own awesome way. Scott is the best host I've ever worked with, he has great communication, lots of beach properties to choose from & always within budget! We will be a customer for many years to come! The room was priced about $50 cheaper through booking.com. When I called to reserve the room Vicki then stated that she would honor that price ($402 for 3 nights) and then tried to tell me there will be a $50 extra charge "for cleaning up all the sand ya know". So I hung the phone up and booked it through booking.com which never stated anywhere that there will be an extra cleaning charge. The room did not match the pictures the website advertised. The "propane" grill was in fact an electric grill that had not been cleaned in quite some time. There were not enough pots/pans/silverware to make a very basic meal. The room did not seem very clean or disinfected. The shower was ridiculously tiny. The only thing my family enjoyed about this unit was that it was very close to the water. Other than that I would not recommend this place for a family trip to the beach. Not worth the money.

It was incredibly close to the beach! The room was very clean! Front desk lady was super nice! BUT...rundown, heat pump spit gobs of black stuff, futons were not fit to be slept on, wifi sucked, broken seating outside our room.

The owner (Scott) was very accommodating. He went out of his way to help me with renting the room, because I was having computer issues. He also helped me out with a ride to and from the airport. This meant the world to me! The efficiency apartment was perfect for my solo trip! It was clean, and fully stocked w/ all I needed. The futon gave me some sass, but I figured it out! This place is literally steps from the white, sandy beach & the Gulf! I LOVED the fact that the Beach Pub was right behind me. Everyone there was so friendly & helpful. The gals in the office at the Sea Gypsy were very sweet, and gave me wonderful advise on where to eat, what to see, etc. I will return to this little treasure on the Gulf. I could live here!

It was ok. The room was tiny, shower was needing tile repair and was very small. Also there was no bed. Just a futon.Check in is before 6 because they close the gift shop at 6. Which is the front desk.If you are looking for an apartment right on the beach this is fine. But not a great hotel room.

When I arrived, I turned on the water to shower. The water smelled like sewage. Then turned on all faucets to see if I just needed to run a little water out of the line. After 15 minutes the whole place smelled like sewage. I called to say I couldnt stay there. The lady on the phone was very nice but all she said was she would call me back. I booked on VRBO and didnt know they were part of a whole group of properties, and she didnt let me know right away. After waiting 15 minutes, I went ahead and booked another spot through AirBnB because I was worried about being able to find a place.After another 10 minutes she called back and said I could move to another property. I had already booked the other one and would have had to pay a $200 cancellation fee, so I just asked for a refund. They gave me a refund for 2 of the 3 nights and said the wouldnt refund the other part because I didnt give them a chance to find me another spot. All they had to do is communicate that is what they were doing and all would have been fine. The fact that they wouldnt do the right thing and refund the entire amount is completely unacceptable. Had they handled this right, I would be singing their praises on here and would be happy to change my review if they decide to do so.

Nice little spot close to the beach along with easy access to restaurants and bars only reason for a 4 star is because house keeping was very rude! I was in the shower before checkout and she was banging down the door like a police officer and when I came out she yelled I’m not try to rush you but I need to get this room clean! I was like geez can we wash our faces other than that nice quiet place to stay.

Location is the only reason to give a star. What they call a bed is actually a futon. Like sleeping on the floor with a pillow pad. The AC was barely existent. Could barely sleep it was so hot. Then there is the ghost ants and roaches. That's right, don't set anything down on the counter or it will be infested with ants. And then a roach crawled on my leg while brushing my teeth. Pest control and a $200 window unit would go a long ways...

Be Aware!! They do not offer refunds for hurricanes even during a State of Emergency. I understand the weather is beyond their control... but its beyond our control too. Read all of the fine print or you could lose out on $2,000 like we did.

We wanted to spend the weekend at the beach for my 60th birthday. Rooms were slim pickings and crazy expensive. I came across this company and they took care of us for less than half of what everyone else was charging. We had a nice 2/2 duplex across the street from the beach. It was very clean and stocked with the basics. Great deal . We will use them again.

Totally different than expected. The other reviews seem to describe only the more expensive rooms here. Ours (the studio) had no real bed, just a very uncomfortable transformable couch. There is no exhaust or window in the bathroom and overall not much daylight. Kitchen corner lacks essentials like salt and pepper or oil. Loud environment and AC. Walls are damaged. I would not recommend this "cheap" room (100$ / night on a weekend). The only good thing is the location, only a few steps to the beaches.

Beautiful location. The bar doesn’t stay open all night so there’s no need to worry about it being too noisy. The location is very convenient and the locals are super friendly.The apartment was clean and had very beachy lived-in decor. Plenty of space for what we needed.

Its right by the beach, and within walking distance to the square. One building from hooters. The place itself is roomy and clean. Has a hose to get the sand off after the beach. Also has chairs you can use for the beach and toys for the kids. A grill outside and 3 sets of patio furniture. Neighbors in the other units are all cool too, met them last night for drinks outside. Value wise it met my expectations.

Absolutely horrible service. We were trying to reschedule and the way we were treated was the worst I've experienced at a hotel/inn. They had several other cancellations or changes due to the cold weather and were understandably upset with that unfortunate circumstance. When we informed them that we could not stay there due to their copious amounts of cats that they had on the property (over 5 or 6) and my mothers serious cat allergy, they said "I hope karma comes to find you." The place seems quaint, but I would never recommend a spot that treats guests so rude. We have stayed in several places on Ft. Myers, similarly priced, and I would recommend those over this place

What a nightmare I talked directly with the owner of the company and I have his texts saying I am confirmed and he is holding the rooms for me. i continually tried to make payments and he kept telling me its ok they are held for me but he was off island and would get me the info soon. Well I found out a friend of mine had rented the same house through Airbnb for the same time weeks after I had booked them and she actually has emails from Scott. When I talked to Scott he told me not to worry he was gonna move them but he just needed pictures of the place as they wanted to see the pictures however my friends said they never have heard from him. I went over Scott's head and talked with the actually owner of the house at and he was gonna talk with Scott. That was 2/08 and still nothing from the Scott or the Owner. POOR Business practice. Be careful of company and property owners who have such disregard for a family trip and the money we are losing on flights ect.

Cozy, bright, and the perfect location. The Sea Gypsy was an absolute pleasure to stay at. From the super close public beach access, to the incredibly attentive and helpful staff, Iwould recommend it to anyone and everyone looking for a relaxing stay on beautiful Fort Myers Beach.

Sea Gypsy is a great place to stay close to the beach...1 minute walk to get to the sugar white sand and Gulf of Mexico!You can cook out on the patio, or dine at one of the local restaurants within walking distance. Shop at the on-site gift shop for unique gifts. Nancy is always a good person to ask questions about the area. You fall in love with Sea Gypsy!
