Animal Mania sells live animals. It is in the Riverland Shopping Center at the corner of Davie Boulevard and Riverland Road also known as SW 27th Court in Ft Lauderdale FL. I visited the store which recently opened in my neighborhood and I was disgusted to see that they were selling live kittens as well as small animals such as gerbils. I do not believe animals should be sold in stores since the majority come from puppy mills which are horrendous places for animals. Basically they are animal factory farms and the animals there are subjected to pain, suffering, intolerable living conditions, lack of water, food and veterinary care. Please, I beg you, do not buy animals. Millions are put to death every year at county and private shelters. If you want a pet please go to a shelter first and save a life. There you will find dogs and cats of every breed including pure bred for a nominal small fee, they will make a great loving addition to your family.
