We ordered the frog legs, blue crab sandwich, gator bites, and the deep fried key lime pie. Everything was DELICIOUS and fresh!!Gator bites were incredible -- moist, tasty, and tender! The frog legs were meaty and yummy, maybe a little overpriced for the quantity, but we weren't disappointed. Softshell Crab sandwich was good, but the star of the show was the deep-fried key lime pie!!! Definitely a sharing plate. It comes out looking like a burrito crepe! So sweet, deliciously tart, absolute perfection!Will come here again!

We just ate here and I ordered a blackened Shrimp wrap. The shrimp tasted awful like it was bad. I ate half the wrap and tried mixing it with cocktail sauce to help mask the flavor. I don’t like complaining or sending my food back but I just couldn’t do it . My husband very nicely explained that the wrap smelled and tasted awful and brought them the wrap back. They only took 10 percent off my meal which worked out o be a $1.99 off.. So I returned half of it they should have at a minimum take off 1/2 the meal. Very disappointed especially the way they handled the situation. I would not come back here again !

We stopped by midweek for dinner after a day of exploring the Everglades and it served up my favourite dinner of our trip. It’s got old school, unpretentious diner vibes and I loved it. The staff were friendly, attentive and the food was exactly what we needed after a busy day. We shared gator nuggets and hush puppies for appetisers followed by a fried fish basket and fried shrimp basket for our mains. The food was hot, crisp and fresh. The fries were standout, they were so crisp and well seasoned…I could probably have eaten 4 bowls of them and been a very happy man. We finished with some key lime pie which was tangy and fresh. If you are in the area exploring I would 100% recommend a visit.

We arrived in Everglades City and went here for dinner. The wait staff was very friendly, considering it was a holiday weekend and almost closing time.We have burgers and fries, nothing to write home about. Thin patties, decent rolls, battered fries.Crab cakes were the same.Chicken fingers and fries were OK too.The real winner was the GATOR nuggets. Fries bits of gator. Super crunchy and yummy!And it was the only thing in town open for breakfast on Easter.We've been each morning and plan to go tomorrow because the breakfast is fantastic.French toast, sausage, waffles, bacon, white toast... ALL of it super yummy!If you are in town, definitely go here for breakfast!Over all, wonderful experience.

Was out looking at the glades and stopped for a quick dinner, place is a very authentic small town diner, not overly touristy, with really good fish tacos. Others had gator bites and frog legs for appetizers, and then ordered crab cakes or pasta, their mistake, it was fine and the salad and hush puppy very good, but they should have had something with fish because the tacos were cut from fresh caught instead of frozen breaded fish sticks. See pictures- sorry about the half eaten taco, they were so good I forgot to take a picture

This is a pretty good place to stop for grub. I’m hopeful my omelette hasn’t gone to the cartoned eggs-but, the flavor this morning wasn’t what I remember from the past. Biscuits were still buttery fluff and tasty and those tats or nuggets still cooked crisp! Rachel is as bubbly as ever-with that “good morning” spirit & we love that smile girl!What would get this favorite of mine more stars? More smiles from the morning waitstaff and more attention to detail and everything in general of the evening younger staff. Goodness, at dinner, I had to tell the young man three times what I wanted on my hamburger and it still arrived without onion and pickles.This is the place to find the locals and some of us that once were locals. Sorry about the bad photos - I was too excited just being there to remember to take good ones. The place was full and I don’t like showing people in my photos without permission. Try it out-you won’t likely regret it! Just be patient. It’s a little slower here which is why I’m here! THIS is THE Everglades’ City!Parking: It’s pavement in front and dirt on the South side and CAN accommodate large RV’s and pull behind combos.

Typical diner food, but you'll always leave happy and full. The staff are all very friendly and service is usually almost immediate. If you're unhappy with something, let your server know and they're eager to fix any mistakes to make sure you have a great experience. Lots of indoor seating, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and homey. Great place to eat overall!

My wife’s father owns a pizza restaurant so I’m a pretty good critic. And they have some surprisingly good pizza here.Atmosphere is exactly what you would hope to find and the staff was attentive.They also offer a deal where they’ll cook what you catch! Excited to come back.Oh, they also offer some boxed lunch to take on an adventure in the surrounding wilderness. Looking forward to checking that out next time.

Visited from out of town for Christmas, and few restaurants were open Christmas Eve. Island Cafe was open, and I enjoyed the best fish sandwich in Florida! The fish was fresh and prepared well, and the sandwich was large. The side of fries were hot and crisp. The food came out quickly. My family also raved about their fish tacos and shrimp fettuccine alfredo. The shrimp were large! The service was spectacular. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Great staff and food at Island Cafe. Highly recommend.

Over Priced, Over cooked slivers of Gator meat in a Convexed basket to make it look like your getting a lot for $16.99. And my husband's Combo basket wasn't much better for $20 bucks. Only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because our waiter Carson was efficient & polite.

Delicious food, great service, nice value, and a cool ambiance. As we drove by late afternoon, there were several cases parked out front. We stopped partly because of that. We had the blackened fish basket and the grilled shrimp basket. The blackened fish was awesome and the grilled shrimp was too. The fries were very tasty and crispy. For desert we had the fried key lime pie. Key lime pie filling rolled up in a flour tortilla and fried. It is topped with chocolate topping and whipped cream. It was plenty for two people and exceeded expectations. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She gave great advice on the items on the menu. The restaurant is a microcosm of the small community and it has loads of charm. This was a "glad we went there" place!

Stopped in for breakfast after our one night in town. Traditional breakfast was good. Everything cooked appropriately. They have sweet tea also! Only slightly negative thing I can say, I added a pancake instead of toast and the pancake was not my favorite, a little gummy, should have stuck with the toast. Service was friendly and prompt.

Great experience. The food was awesome and great value. My husband had scallop dinner, which included 9 scallops (large), baked potato, salad, vegie for $21; I had crab cake (huge), baked potato, salad, vegie & a hush puppy for $21. Where we come from (Colorado), we would pay double the price. The food and service were excellent. The lower stars for atmosphere was due to the fact that this is a simple diner. Clean & fine, just very basic.Vegetarian options: None. Dinner salad was very basic, mostly lettuce. Dinner vegetable was corn.

Small town vibes with tasty food.I had the gator burger (not sure if it actually has Gator in it) and then a cheese burger the next day.Both were tasty and the staff were friendly.
