As a foster for Suncoast....I can't say enough about the staff and volunteers that make it what it is. All the animals in their care are so lucky to have them. It is not easy to care for so many unwanted animals and have it result in positive outcomes.Keep up the great work folks!!!!

They neutered our two dogs, Arlo and Cooper, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and a Golden Retriever, respectively. They both tolerated the surgery well but Arlo did have a little longer healing time. To be fair to them, he is a Corgi and he is very sassy and temperamental as Corgis tend to be. No issues with drainage, swelling, irritation, or pain. Would bring animals here again, as they offer a more fair price for staying and neutering (most vets are ludicrous).My aunt adopted a very obese but cute dog named Chewy, who has been adjusting well and getting healthier. They seem to do a good job with their animals overall and can't be blamed for a surrenders weight issue.I have added a few photos of the two boys for reference. All is well!

We adopted a puppy who was named Pepper. We renamed him Henry. He's now a little over 3 months old. He's Happy, healthy and spoiled! Just wanted to thank you for making our little boy and family very happy😁 we kept him on same food he was eating while there, but we add scrambled eggs on weekends in the a.m. and sweet potatoes everyday for dinner. He even gets doggie ice cream from time to time😁 he's growing fast! He weighs 23 lbs already!!!😱😱 Lol! He's a great addition to our little family. Thanks😁

I cannot say enough good things about the staff here. Truly wonderful caring people. I highly recommend adopting from here. They also allow you to “foster to adopt” so you can see how the pet would do in your home first, no strings attached. I love SHS❤️

The staff were very nice and accommodating. We adopted a beautiful Chihuahua mix a month ago, named Smidge and love her to pieces! I was there looking at another dog and couldn’t make it work but the staff helped me find exactly what my wife and I were looking for, Thanks so much for all of your help!

I have nothing but great things to say about the Suncoast humane society. I adopted my dog there. The people are friendly animal lovers. Totally committed. I rescued my dog 8 months ago. She got worms 8 months later. I brought her in and they gave me the dewormer for free. I not only recommend them but will be donating as much as I can whenever I can.

I brought my 1 Yr old poodle for neutering & shots, but first I treated him to a little playtime before surgery when I saw there's a dog park right on the property. Rocky had no issues with his surgery & he was even done quicker than expected.The staff was very kind & gentle with my precious fur baby! I wouldn't hesitate to refer the humane society services to all my friends! Thank you so much!

If I could offer “zero” I would. Came by on Saturday to ask about hypo-allergenic dogs. Was informed a Maltese was being surrendered Monday, and to “check the website or call in and ask” about it. Understood it needed to be screened by a veterinarian before availability. Refreshed the website all day Monday. Called Monday at 1:30 and was told the dog hadn’t been screened yet. Continued refreshing the website. Stopped by the location today (Tuesday) to inquire again, was told the dog was already adopted out at 2:30 Monday “by someone who saw us walk by with it”. Claiming he was “on the site” (where I could have applied if I had seen the post). #shady

Once you get an appointment for spay/neuter, they will take care of your pet. It has only been a few days, but my cat is feeling great and acting like nothing happened.

They are nice enough. My dogs operation is aborted . Not access to much technology however maybe we should ap donate to that cause. Hard to get them on the phoneI like that they give pet food for free I haven't utilized that service but nice to know they are by a dog park so be sure to park near facility otherwise you will have a very disappointed dog or in my case a reactive barking dog .. I think they try and thats something to be said for but man they need someone to answer phone

What a horrible experience.I brought in a kitten that was hit by a car & told by staff that I could adopt her when she was out of foster care because she was so young that she needed to be with a mother cat. I called three times over the next few weeks and spoke with someone each time, being reassured that I could adopt the kitten when she was ready.I also called & left several messages on the automated phone messaging system with my name & phone number, which I had no call back or attempt at a call back.Today, I called and found out through the adoption specialist that the kitten had been adopted, she was understanding & asked if I'd like to talk to the manager.After a long pause, the manager picked up.From that point on my opinion of the Humane Society diminished.I was accused of lying about what I was told, lying about calling & being told I was still able to adopt her when she was ready.He referred to the Humane Society as an industry & that it does not attempt to reunite animals with the person who saved them as well as stating they legally have no obligation or way to keep track of the individuals who want to adopt the animal they saved. I have donated to this organization yearly for over a decade. Many of my friends & family do as well. This utter lack of respect & responsibility is unforgiving.My view of them has been forever altered.I can no longer in good conscience take or recommend taking an animal to the Englewood location ever again.

We went there see cats and were so lucky to be guided by Dillan, he was so nice and told us the story of every cat in the room. It shows how the staff loves what they do and their commitment to animals. Excellent place and amazing people.

My granddaughter adopted a cat from there (Englewood) That night the cat was coughing. The next day my granddaughter had to take her to an emergency vet and the cat has pneumonia. So far 700.00 in vet bills trying to get her better.I hope they thoroughly check the other cats there.

Yet ANOTHER place that won't adopt to someone without a fenced yard. I don't understand these places, they act like there's all of these pets that need loving homes, but when someone is asking to adopt a dog that fits their needs that THEY have, they get denied for STUPID reasons. How about adopting to people who are actually wanting an animal? You seriously want people to take your dogs and put them in your precious "Fenced Yard" and what? Leave the there? NO, my dog won't need a fenced yard because I will take them out to the beach, to the dog park, on adventures, and otherwise they'll be indoors WITH me. Also, we don't all have a vet reference if we haven't had a pet in awhile. REALLY sick of this. "Adopt - don't shop" they say. Yeah, I'm shopping because I'm clearly not perfect enough to adopt the right kind of dog that I know is a good fit for me. I don't want a pit bull, and all other breeds are off limits to anyone without a fenced yard.

Great place takes care of the dogs and cats. But the head of the place Michael needs to check himself. My girlfriend was an employee wrongfully let go. My girlfriend and I supplied several supplies ie cat litter on my dime when he failed to do so . So I reiterate he needs to check himself

We adopted a puppy about a week ago and the staff and volunteers were so good to us. She was raised with her siblings and had a great foster home. They even sent a care package for our little puppy. She is so well behaved already and was taken very good care of. They also spay and their adoption fees are very affordable! Great experience

Absolutely LOVE Suncoast. I’m a local realtor & I donate $100 worth of supplies to a local animal shelter after each closing that I have. I donated here this last time & the staff is amazing & really seem to care about their animals, which is a breath of fresh air!

Helpful.. courteous.. fully explain procedure.. yes..have older animals than Charlotte... They do.have you promise to return if unsatisfactory. Do not try calling....they do not answer phone and voice mail is full so leaving a message impossible

Had our cat spayed here and the only thing that is a bummer is they only do Mondays and you have to be there at 7:30 am latest drop off and 3:00 latest pickupSo essentially take a day off. The pickup was a little confusing as they have everyone gather in one room and there’s no particular order to get your animal, you may be waiting awhile. However, it is cost effective and they really do seem to care about the animals there. Would recommend to anyone who needs baseline care at an affordable cost.

We found our new best friend yesterday. Charlie is a dream dog. It’s so hard to get another dog after your last one passed away. The staff was extremely helpful, empathetic and professional. Brittany handled our adoption and everything went very smoothly. Thank you for making it so easy and thank you for helping us find the perfect four-legged companion. After only 24 hours at home with us he fits in perfectly, like he’s always been here. He’s a great dog with a wonderful personality and high intelligence. He’s highly trainable. We will be signing up for one of your behavior classes. We are so happy. It’s a match made in heaven. Thank you Suncoast for everything that you do for so many animals. Don’t forget that for every happily adopted pet there is a happy person too!

Me and my Fiance adopted a little kitten here yesterday and our experience was fantastic. The staff were amazing and we found the little cat of our dreams. They are organized and clean. found a litter of babies & their mama out in the cold a week previous, & thankfully was able to set a foster momma in place through here. as much as i’d love to care for them myself, i’m just not capable currently. everyone i’ve spoken with here has been so kind & caring & compassionate. i felt so comfortable surrendering them into their care! i’m so thankful for this place & their wonderful workers! surely babies & mama will find their own wonderful mama or daddy when they’re ready. Stephanie was so sweet & understanding about our situation. very grateful!
