Ever since they switched to Manasota goodwill they have been in a downward spiral. DISGUSTING and chipped Yeti cups for TWENTY DOLLARS?? A keychain that was $80 NEW priced at $125? Absolutely outrageous. The clothing racks are empty as well. They have no idea how to price anything.

(Please do Yourself a Favor: do your shopping/donating to Project Phoenix {Dearborn St}! They are 100 times more appreciative & helpful!)I've known Goodwill to be Quality, having shopped here long time; even after the store changed Management.BUT NOT after purchasing 2 pairs of jeans last night for husband (we've purchased there, on quite regular basis).Purchased this at 1501 Placida Rd, Englewood, FL 34223 Goodwill location.The pants Regrettably did Not fit him.Thought to self: just take them back- it's been less than 24 hours: Nope, the Manager stated they do NOT allow returns of any type, any longer!!!In past years- Goodwill was dependable, always Excellent & would recommend to anyone!!!....NOT Now.Rather ashamed to admit shopping here now.... I've heard many Englewood locals complaining about the "New"  Goodwill.(They've 1  superb employee, Patrick, who's Awesome, Amazing with wonderful attitude! Professional, cheerful, kind) who made it through the "Changeover" (which then new store became expensive, lost ALOT of 2nd hand items, replaced by new now; deceptive advertising: shortly after Changeover, I was emailed 50% off coupon, that after couple hours of my shopping there, for Holiday presents was informed, they would NOT accept!!! Had to put ½ items back, wasted 2 hrs of my time!, and totally frustrated).Over the winter, asked about if they had a heater for my workshop for ranger girls, was told there was No way that could find one. I called Project Phoenix (Dearborn St) & the ladies went to work looking! Next thing You know, I was told to come on over: they had 2 units!Really! With this visit, it's Last straw!! They are given ALL these items by Donation: FREELY given to them & they cannot, will NOT work with a patron who has shopping here for years!????!! That's Absolutely:  RUDE.Was looking forward to just exchanging for a larger size, BUT No way!This deserves Noting.HOPE someone will listen, & make Necessary changes, for I will NOT shop here again.Yes, Goodwill is a oxymoron! Should be called BADwill, husband exclaimed.

I don't really understand the middling-poor reviews. Expectations are important, and thrifting has completely changed in the last five years in terms of selections, prices, etc. Many reasons for that.This is a relatively 'affluent' Goodwill. I spent about $22 including a $5 pair of flip flops in my size (13) and there were also tennis shoes in that range that seemed alright. Didn't have pants to accommodate my lanky 6'4" frame, but that could happen at Cabela's or JC Penny's too, honestly.I got a cool Pusser's rum mug and a Chicken Soup Bowl/mug with a recipe on it for a solid soup. bout $6-7 for both. There were even a couple of cool movies I thought about picking up (X2, Darjeeling Lmtd, Thx For Smoking).I then got three GREAT bars of soap for probly $10.Cashiers were friendly, quick, and took care to wrap my fragiles.Best Goodwill I have visited in some time. Would check it out again after a couple months.

I’m perturbed about Goodwills pricing!!! They are NOT doing any great service to the community!I mean Come On!!! EVERYTHING IS DONATED TO THEM!!! Yes they employ disabled people but they don’t paid them much. I think the higher management is padding their pockets Really Well!!! It GREED!!!I NO LONGER donate to Goodwill due to their Greed. I encourage others as well to donate to other Charities that help people!!!NON-PROFIT? HA!!! Someone's making a HUGE PROFIT!!!There are people who can’t afford to shop at Goodwill!!!!

Decorating on a budget like me? Look no further than your local Goodwill! I found a glorious art piece this weekend! Glass sculpture contemporary vase from The Metropolitan Museum of Fine arts( still in the box). Ran and picked up some fresh flowers at Publix and voila! Also, some beautiful colored bottles also found at Goodwill for a splash of color! Guess the price tag? All under 25.00 - Open your mind, not your wallet! Enjoy! - Jo

Used to be my favorite location! I don’t know who took over but they have messed it up so bad. Everything is jumbled. Sizes aren’t separated by rack tags anymore so you have to look at every tag hoping to find your size in something. It was red tag half off but since they took 5% off red tag 50% off didn’t matter. They stopped $1.49 sundays and mondays. From what I can tell by today the 50% off tags color is no longer a thing…even though the signs say it is because they took 5% off. I’ll miss this location

Have been both shopping & donating here for past 22 years. Just lost a fast 28 lbs. and had a huge amt. of nearly new (even some with price tags) clothes, which I hung on hangers, some covered in cleaner's plastic, all clean, pressed & pristine. Manager came out to drop-off and told me "we don't take clothes on hangers"!!! EXCUSE ME! Stuff is too nice to throw in garbage bags. I'll find a shop that appreciates my donations. A church might be good place to start.

It has always been a fun trip to Goodwill to find great pictures and lots of treasures. The prices are so high now it has stopped being fun. Most pictures are 40$…they have lost my business and donations. Who can afford to shop there for second hand stuff…

I always prefer to shop second hand. Consumerism is one of the many issues in the world today. I live in an area that has many thrift stores. Goodwill in my opinion is way overpriced. I get that they help the community, but they seem to be getting greedier by the year. It's free items donated by people. You'd think they would not be so overpriced!

Not the best inventory, the employees are nice enough, but the new manager is THE WORST. He changes the rules on the employees and the customers constantly, he yells constantly,, he closes the store early despite the posted hours when he wants to go home (which he told me he was gling to do when I was paying, it was very creepy as I don't want to know about his personal life), and he makes very inappropriate comments in front of customers on a regular basis! Not only should he not be in charge of a store, he really shouldn't be allowed near the public, especially women.

They refused to accept donations (a bag of clothes). Stated they don't accept donations when thunder storm is happening. There was none yesterday - just cloudy and occasional drizzling. They should find better excuse.

I’m not sure who exactly does the pricing here but the price for things especially donated things that a lot of people are donating for those less fortunate to be able to get what they need but save a few dollars that they may not have to buy new yet here they charge a insane amount for used things I have seen things priced actually for more here then to buy new at the store I’ve seen things that were purchased at dollar tree for 1.25 being sold here for 3.99 I also know I am not the only one I know multiple people who stopped coming here because of that for their prices your better off buying new and not donating to them because they’ll sell it for way more then what it’s worth this was at 1501 Placida road in Englewood

Buyer beware! Make sure when you cash out check your receipt before you leave store. They have over charged on several occasions before, this time I went back to the store an hour later with all the tags cashier said the manager said for me to bring the items back in or pick a 1.49 item (they charged me 5.99 for a 1.49 item) I went back home and took all of the items off the clothes line (what pandemic). Manager never came out and didn't even look at the clothes and said I could pick out an item for 5.99 or nothing. It's not about the money, it's the point and how I was treated. Next time I go there I will stand right there in front of cashier and triple check my receipt before I leave and as far as rounding up, I will never ever round up and give them an extra penny ever again!

By far this is one of the most friendliest goodwill stores in the area. Bill the manager is extremely helpful! The staff is friendly and helpful as well. They have great items in there and their prices are reasonable and they always have a great selection of items to choose from. I recommend this Goodwill store to anyone. It's around a 30 minute trip one way for me to go there but it's well worth it!!!

Its very small and yet somehow many resale racks are bare. The place is absolutely all Englewood; one finds it quaint, clean yet kinda funky, its stock is usually older than old, and often boring and predictable. However, if you're an avid thrifter you know that this location can be pretty surprising. Typically its my least favorite thrift store in the area and hands down it is my least favorite goodwill, but on a rare day like today, its more like your wacky eclectic aunt's best kept secret.

came in today and saw two employees without masks, including an older gentleman who was checking people out at the counter. he tried justifying it by citing the lack of a county mandate despite Goodwill’s corporate site clearly stating that they’re requiring their stores’ employees and customers to wear masks. completely clueless and didn’t think anyone would say something. also lied telling me that he forgot to grab it when he came in for work, and then proceeded to pull one out of his pocket and put it on. astounding. workers here clearly aren’t trained on their own company policy and have complete disregard for their customers’, coworkers’, and own health. workers here also need to stop being lenient with customers who come in without a mask.

Overpriced and they don't care about their customers. I bought a pair of shoes that broke in 10 minutes upon wearing so I bought them back in. The female manager of course picked the cheaper options off of the receipt and gave me the wrong price for an even exchange. I picked out this cheap very used looking life jacket that didn't have a tag on it. Shawn picked a price out of his head that was higher than the even exchange would be. They handled the situation horribly and I was very upset after leaving. I tried to handle this with optimism seeing as goodwill has did this sort of thing before to me and my family. Will not shop at any other goodwill stores ever again. Treat your customers badly and they won't come back.

This location is relatively well-organized. Clothing sizes tend to be a bit mixed up, and I frequently find women's clothes in the men's section. I'm usually able to find something I'd like to buy whenever I visit.

GREAT SELECTION, PRICES AND FRIENDLY SERVICEAfter lunch today at a nearby restaurant, I decided to peek in here, just nosy I guess, you never know what you're going to find in these thrift stores and man, did I make out great!!!I am one of the few people left in America, I do believe, who loves playing VHS tapes, but less and less VCRs are available for sale.I found one here for $9.99 (believe it or not!!!) so when I asked the cashier if she could guarantee that it worked, she said she could not, but told me that if it did not work, I could bring it back within 7 days for a store credit.I also found some gardening shoes (BRAND NEW!!!) for a mere $3.99, so I came home and immediately hooked up the VCR and......drum roll please.....IT WORKED!!!!Can you believe it? And those gardening shoes fit like a glove, so I guess it was really my lucky day. Plus I got service with a smile, can't ask for more than that!!!

Store is terribly organized, the pricing isn't accurate on many items. Staff is terrible with attitude, like shopping there is an inconvenience for them. Terrible is best way to describe this place. No boutique selection like other stores, and they ship all the good items to Fort Myers boutique.

This Goodwill store was decent and clean, but an employee named Diane was very rude by the fitting room, slamming the hangers and clothes around. Clearly hates her job with that miserable attitude. She needs to get an attitude adjustment.

I have been to many good wills and thrift stores over the years. Ive gone back to this one over and over again within the past 10 years and it still remains my favorite. It has good prices for good product and friendly people.
