Bought a glass baking dish, it said that it was dishwasher and oven safe. I went to take it out of the oven and it shattered. I wouldn't buy any of their glass dishes.

Sign on the door says closed at 9:30am on a Saturday, even though there's at least 2 employees clearly inside. I guess the only way to know if they're open is to randomly stop by because there's obviously no set hours. I won't bother anymore. I'm sure they won't be open much longer anyway.

Just walked into the store @6pm on 10/8/23 with my 2 year old daughter and the entire store smells like weed and is an absolute mess! Items fallen over, things every where, all over the floor. No wonder why! These two are stoned out their minds and obviously can’t be professional and get high off the clock! And smoking in the store is crazy!! Very disappointed. NOT A PLACE FOR CHILDREN APPARENTLY. And the young man on shift was very rude and mouthy when I brought it to everyones attention that it stunk!

Updated . . . CLOSED AGAIN!!!! Today is Thursday, 3/23/23. I drove up to the parking lot and there is stuff outside the door and a cart . I went and got the cart, walked to the door and there's a big old handwritten sign that says CLOSED. They need to close this store permanently! Previous post: Today is Wed 2/15/23 and this location is NOT OPEN. Sign on door says CLOSED will reopen next day at 8 am. I overhead a worker there one day say they are having problems getting employees. I can understand why. Several years ago I was out of work and looking aggressively at any place that would hire. I did their online application and NEVER heard back. So one day, while I was shopping, I said something to a worker there about how I tried to apply and never heard back. All I can say now is THANK GOD I didn't get a job there. Luckily I was hired at an office making double what Dollar General was going to offer me. Hurricane Ian is not the cause. They were having issues way before Hurricane Ian.

Lady with the big blonde hair (who looks to be in her 50s) is extremely rude. I simply asked if they did cash back, and she immediately started talking very loud in a rude and condescending manner even though I was being polite. She should learn to stop projecting her miserable life onto the customers, or find a different job.

Christian Crum is the new manager so everybody there should be very grateful and lucky to have her because she's the best manager that I've ever seen in a Dollar general! The last store that she started at and left from in Arkabutla Mississippi , to go back down to Port Charlotte Florida so she can take care of her mother that sick and it's the same story with the Dollar general there as it was here there was over a year of totes left out and within 3 months she had that store in arkabutla lake Mississippi cleaned up and ready to go and when they did inventory it didn't take them but two and a half hours to do it and they said it usually take them all the way to 5 or 6 in the afternoon so that's how good Christina Crum is at cleaning up Dollar generals! She even went to two and three other Dollar generals in this area of Mississippi and straighten them out because they were just as bad as that one that she starting that now in Florida and somewhere even worse. But she turned her store that was behind over a year and to the number one store and sells and she was in the hospital sent I love everything within her first few months of managing it. So if I was y'all in Englewood Florida Exactly like it's supposed to be ran. And the sad thing is is that a lot of Dollar generals are known for being cluttered and behind and nothing on the shells so I think they need to treat people like Christina Crum that actually does her job and works hard and gets the stores in better shape than they have been in years! The bottom line is she's a great person she's going to do her job and have that store like you've never seen it before like brand new but I do not like seeing somebody ever been taken for granted! She just needs to be well taken care of!!

I was there on Friday December 11th late afternoon at 4:42 pm. The gal that rang me up was absolutely amazing and sweet!! Made our shopping experience awesome!! I did not get her name though, thank you and hope she is there next time!! I am a small business owner and kindness goes a long way with me in customer service!

Great customer service! Love their health food section too...I always find great items that are perfect for my mid-day snack stash. Also, there is always something fabulous on sale that finds its way onto my "must purchase" list. 12 large mason jars for $8.45....Score!

Its not the best dollar general iv ever been to. I know they are a small store but what I truly don't like is how there card reader will ask you if you want cash back. If you select yes.. they will give it to you but then tell you they usually don't give cash back, then they point to a little sign that is supposed to inform the customer of this. It's so small and amongst 10 other hand written signs you can't see it.

I went home and after my shopping experience and realized I had forgotten something. I called back and sure enough they knew exactly what I was talking about because they had set it aside. I went back and got it. There was a couple of other bags there with things that other people had forgotten. They showed me these bags and if I had been dishonest I could have taken both of them. I can't believe the trust that they had.

Store is almost always dirty on the outside, very disorganized and messy on the inside, except for the food section that's usually nice. Usually only one clerk working or at the register however they are almost always somewhere else in the store when ready to checkout and takes them a few mins to realize someone is standing up there or there is a very long line because only one person is working, I've rarely seen two registers open at this store, the other Englewood location is much nicer but it's mich further from me.

Store has went down hill. Shelves are empty and the aisles are blocked with carts. Employees standing around not doing anything. Store is horrible

Being 54 years old, and sometimes not carrying my driver's license (because I walk by this place every morning on my 6-7 mile walk), I'm irritated when told they will NOT sell me cigarettes without ID.AND.... In most cases Walmart has much cheaper items... and it's only 2.5 miles to get there. I don't mind walking [or driving] that much further for cheaper products and service with a smile.

It's a Dollar General... kind of a generalized store, NOT a 'dollar' store where things are 99 cents. Prices are a bit higher than big box places but are similar (as is the selection) to Cvs, Walgreens, etc.I always think they smell funny (not haha-funny, usually some chemical or weird scent).This one's like the rest - in a depressed area, sketchy characters, marginal help, but does carry basics & necessities and is often easier to go here than drive 5 miles and deal with a big box store when all you need is a quick something like batteries or light bulbs or aspirin.Also like other Dollar Generals, if you haven't been there before, there's no real way to know how aisles/items are categorized other than to wander around or find an employee to ask.For convenience they get 5 stars, for ambiance/ customer service / niceties, 2 to 3 stars... overall, 4 stars for serving a purpose.

Messy store and stockers talking innapropruate, as well as cashier just walking away from the register with more than 5 people waiting. Another employee came up and was whining about her walking away. Frankly neither of them should have done what they did at work.. she states when she came back that she needed to fix her hair.

The DG I just came from on Placida is a big store with a greater inventory than most of the ones I've been to one Fla. north east coast, lovely lady working, pleasant, cheerful,and very helpful! Store was a little messy, but I believe, because she was the only one working (VERY bad former DG,BAD FORM) I mostly blame the public for any of their messes,most people don't know how to put something back where they found it if they don't want it...other, 5 stars for DR'S choice of employees...it makes for the rest of the day a pleasant day.!!

The Manager, Tracy and associate Peggy are GREAT, they know there store and merchandise and offer so much information, suggestions, personal experience with products and advice, This is A GREAT PLACE TO SHOP !!!
