I am writing this review not just because so far this has been the Walgreens where I've seen the most friendly staff both in-store and pharmacy. But, also to give a special shout out to Mary! She's amazing, amazingly helpful, and has helped with more than just prescriptions and vaccines. Super attentive and always on top of everything, following up with calls and helping a ton with reminders. She's a rockstar in the pharmacy team.While sometimes they are understaffed and you have to wait a few minutes. I've always have had prescriptions filled promptly (even those sent the same day). People here are super dramatic with the "wait times".

Always been a walgreens customer until today. Doctor called in 2 scripts on last friday(3/15/24). Go to pick them up and am told that my Doctor has to call my insurance to get an authorization on 1 of them. So I wait...on Tuesday 3/19, walgreens send text meds are ready. I go to get them,and am told it's over 40 bucks.. im like hmm, I don't pay for scripts with my insurance, only to find out that the insurance was never called, walgreens claims its the doctors responsibility to call for authorization not theirs...so I call doctors office and they tell me it's walgreens responsibility, and that the only message they got from Walgreens was that the pharmacy needed clarification on what med was being prescribed. Nothing about getting it authorized by insurance. So this is the 3rd incident, 2 priors,I was shorted my on my scripts. I will never return to this pharmacy, they are rude, and lie! This is the worst Walgreens ever! Feel sorry for people who's lives are dependent on the drugs doctors prescribe. Cause you'll never get them in a timely fashion..CVS JUST WON MY BUSINESS!!!!

My wife insists that Walgreens is the preferred vendor but after all of the garbage today we will be spending the extra to go to CVS. First they lost her insurance, then when we went at 2pm after she got an email that her 2 prescriptions were ready....they weren't and we were told we had to wait 2 more hours. So say we will get after dinner. Get there and oh now they are just out of 1 of them and we can twiddle our thumbs till Monday.....

Don't waste your time filling prescriptions at this Walgreens. 5 p.m., rush hour, day after Christmas, mobs and mobs of people needing prescription help, and ONLY ONE PERSON WORKING THE COUNTER. Have stood in line 50 minutes so far waiting. Consistently horrible, slow customer service--or the lack thereof.

I went to this location on 4/1 around 9:30 pm, I was having trouble finding an item so I went over to the closest worker, as I walked over I said “ I’m sorry to bother you, but can you help me find..” she instantly rolls her eyes at me, Made me feel very uncomfortable and incredibly rude. I didn’t catch her name but she had to of been in her late 50’s with black shoulder length hair.

STOPPED BY AFTER A DOCTORS VISIT TO PICK UP MY MEDS. ONE CAR IN LINE AT CHECK OUT. TWO CARS DECIDED TO LEAVE BECAUSE OF THE WAIT IN LINE. AFTER 15 MINUTES I HAD TO ASK THE GUY IN BACK OF ME TO LET ME OUT. THEN WE WENT HOME. THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE A PICKUP WINDOW ANYTHING ELSE HAS TO BE TAKING CARE OF INSIDE THE STORE OR AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT. SOMETHING WRONG AT THIS STORE. ANOTHER TIME WAITING TO CHECK OUT GIRL WALKED IN AND THEN WALKED OUT WITH LOTS OF BABY STUFF AND SAID I'M NOT PAYING FOR THIS I WENT OUT SIDE AND TRIED TO GET HER NUMBER WHICH I COULD NOT. WENT IN SIDE SAID TO THE GIRL DONT YOU HAVE SECURITY SHE SAID NO. I TOLD HER I WAS AVAILABLE FOR THE JOB. THIS STORE NEEDS NEW MANAGMENT. NEXT TIME I HAVE TO PICK UP MEDS IF NO ONE IS AT THE WINDOW I WILL DRIVE UP TO IT. IF THERE ARE ANY CARS AT THAT WINDOW I WILL SURLY GO INSIDE.

I have second bussiness brand open very soon,Come to store spent over $200 for picture yesterday ,Try spent almost $400 for large picture tonight ,but Sorry for who ever owner Walgreens in ellenton ,hiring Heather (manager )of store ,,and Dana ,both of them don’t want customer come to store spent money ,asking for help ,they are both answer back not respect ,so so nasty ,,every one come here really be careful them ,they have couple more worker attitude Same like that but this worst I can not forgive ,I been sitting over 1 hour and got treat from them like that ,so tomorrow I need to go cvs do it..I hope James main one Manager of store see this post and looking back camera see how I said the true story and working out with them and take care of bussiness …

Worst pharmacy ever. Have had the misfortune of dealing with them over a period of years, and it is always bad. Unfortunately, they are the closest pharmacy to my house, but I will drive farther to get prescriptions from anywhere else. Always a problem of extended long line weights at drive-through or inside. Rarely get all prescriptions or have them ready for pick up at the same time. Frequently have to return multiple times and/or have prescriptions resent. Stay away if you have any other options.

It is a regularly moderately busy store but the staff communicates well with each other to keep the line moving and the store well organized and stocked. The wait is always minimal compared to other similar stores that are even less busy. Well managed and staffed.

Usually are good about prescriptions but was here yesterday for my medications and they had been sent to the incorrect Walgreens location, so the pharmacy technician said that she can transfer them over to this location and have them filled in 20 minutes. Told them that it's fine and we will come back tomorrow for them. Went back in 24 hours later (today) and they are telling me that they are not filled and that they were waiting to hear back from my prescribing doctor for approval, but then I told them we were here yesterday and they said they'd be filled in 20 minutes yesterday, they then backpeddled and said oh yeah, we can get them filled for you tonight in about 20minutes. Which means someone didn't process the prescription yesterday when I told them I'd give them 24 hours instead of 20 minutes. Thinking that if I gave them another 24 hours instead of 20 minutes this time, this would continue happening again. Why can't pharmacies just do their one job?

Absolutely a stressful experience with the pharmacy staff. They are not helpful at all and I received three different reasons for an important med I need every day. After two weeks of going phone calls to Doctor and pharmacy the pharmacy staff tried to say the Doctor cancelled the med,my script was no longer in their computer(but it has been filled there before) and they’re waiting for fax from Doctor. I called pharmacy this morning to try and resolve the problem and after speaking to two staff members was hung up on. I also called my Doctor who stated a script was already faxed to them. Also a staff stated they are having problems with their system!! Poor customer service and will be utilizing a different pharmacy and it will not be Walgreens!!

**Pharmacy**I came here 12/4 to get my daughters COVID shot for a 9am appointment. I got there at 845a and the lady told me (rudely) to come back at 9. I get it (15 minutes) no problem. Came back to wait over an hour with no place to sit.Came back for a booster for myself the next day 12/5 at 9, with an appointment. Before I even made it to the desk, the same lady seen I had my COVID card on hand and put her hands on the desk with her head down and started moving her head side to side with frustration. When I told her I was there for a booster, she looked at the other pharmacist and said “I dont know why they schedule people like this.” I asked if it was an okay time and she said there were 6 people ahead of me. However, 2 had just completed paperwork and she just handed another paperwork. There were 3 and 3 baskets on the desk. The store was empty at this time 845a on 12/5. This behavior is unacceptable and not needed first thing in the morning. She was rude to me yesterday and rude to me today. No one made this person choose that job. It was her own decision to work with people. Perhaps she needs to be behind the shelves and not serving people. Or maybe she needs to serve those of her own kind. I left, I’ll go to a different Walgreens from now on.

We left this store several years ago NOT because of poor service BUT because my husband’s insurance was with Caremark and they gave us far better pricing across the street….but the service across the street SUBSTANDARD at best!! So NOW my husband’s insurance is no longer with the other company so I came BACK to THIS WALGREENS! The team here are Kind, Considerate, and Professional EVERYTIME not just once in awhile! I LOVE the ladies here they are wonderful! Thank you to all the ladies who are so hard at work and never let it show!! YOU ARE APPRECIATED!!!

This pharmacy just does not care about patients or if there's been a mistake if by a doctor the insurance company or Walgreens they could care less about helping you find a solution.All they have to say is it's not our fault.It very well may not be their fault and that's understandable but you seam to be the only pharmacist that would rather say next in line then take the time to help a customer through a ridiculous system.I've dealt with Local pharmacies like Bradenton hometown pharmacy. Their service is always much better and if there has been a mistake regardless of who's fault it is they will help you find a solution to save you money or stop the insurance companies from ripping you off for a little more.It's sad that someone like a Walgreens pharmacist takes the time and commitment to have a profession with a very high responsibility to the public then turn around and care less about patients and are probably just wondering how much longer till I get to go home.I know that's not the case for all Walgreens pharmacist but my experience at the Ellington 301 Walgreens has consistently been this. "It's not my fault" "I don't care" "have a nice day".

With all a new homes in the area filling prescriptions here can be difficult. They are now using a prescription filling service out of Orlando and trucking prescriptions to the stores. We've encountered delays and receiving prescriptions.

The cool thing about Google as you can see how many negative reviews each user post… So whoever manages the pharmacy can clearly see I hardly ever post a negative review unless I am completely and utterly disgusted… The lack of accountability from this pharmacy and how you were treated is deplorable. I’ve asked to speak to a manager a couple times so I can be proactive and solve the problem since the staff is incompetent and lacks customer service skills… A simple prescription has been a nightmare for the last four months… I will be seeking a new pharmacy… If there’s any other transplants that moved to Florida and are in this area I do not recommend this pharmacy they do not even care enough to talk to you about the situation and solve it

Terrible pharmacy experiences on multiple occasions. Half the time they don't have the medications you need. I have waited for 45 minutes multiple times in there drive-thru only to receive other peoples random blood pressure medicine etc. This place is an absolute mess.

Drive thru is the only way to go for me when picking up prescriptions. Cashiers are always courteous and pleasant. Usually there's a few cars in front of me no matter what time of day I happen to go.

🦃 I wish I got the one woman's name who worked on Thanksgiving! 🦃She deserves a shout out! She was helpful in the aisle when I couldn't find what I needed. She opened a 2nd register when the 1st cashier's line was slow. I appreciate that Walgreen's was open on the holiday and this woman really left an impression on me. 💯💳

Walgreens Pharmacy, please re-train your pharmacists to view themselves as healthcare professionals, and not just put pills in the bottles. Status quo, they'll fill 'control meds' based on the typical 30 days supply written by the doctors, and won't let the patients pick up the next month supply at day 29 (in other words, 1 day early.) Instead, they based on the "date" of the month, so there are 7 months in a year that have 31 days, the patient expects to go short for 6 months--this factors in February (assuming if you take your 1st dose of the month on the same day that you pick up in the morning). Example, you pick up your 30 days supply on Jan 16, you won't allow to pick up until Feb 15--and there are 31 days in Jan. So you expect to be out for that 1st day and if you are busy during the week, then you have to be out for the entire week (or until whenever you can pick it up). This is just 1 of the reasons why I hate filling my control medications at Walgreens. Such hideous policies! Is it unreasonable to expect pharmacists to act like healthcare professionals? It's unfortunate that Publix doesn't have the rx with specific criteria that I am looking for, otherwise I'll go to Publix. At least the ones I encountered at Publix acted like healthcare professionals.

I walked in and the manger Gabriela who was polite and adorable immediately greeted me and asked if i needed help. I went there to buy part of a gift for a family member...i walked out with a fine smelling Burberry perfume and a bottle of 212 for myself.1000000000% will be back because of her.Shes very easy on the eyes too.

Bad customer service. My prescription was sent in 2 weeks early, so when I called to refill on time. They said my doctor never sent them my script. I was standing there when she did. Now I’m out of medicine I need daily because they can’t get it together and then give me attitude. I wish I could go back to cvs, but they stopped taking my insurance :(
