I prefer to shop here as it is a smaller business and more helpful than big box stores. The staff on the floor is always helpful and willing to go out of their way to assist you.Unfortunately this ends at the checkout. The women (nothing sexist, just always female staffed) at the checkout are often rude and quite unhelpful. This is my (and others I know) experience more often than not at the register.Great place, always stocked with what I need from the smoker to the lawn but I often leave in a state of discontent after the usual unpleasant experience at the checkout.

Ace is always the place to find your helpful hardware people. And they have the best price on replacing your auto key fob battery so check them out next time you need to replace yours before you go to the dealership! They have a lot more Ace than you think so check them out.

This horrible suff, you are lucky, if you can get of and use. Destroyed the top, just removing it the inside for a least 1" hard and could not remove it. Had to use a CHISEL TO GET IN THE CENTER. TAKING BACK TO LOWE'S TELL THEM TO DO WHAT THEY WANT. THEY DONT CARE WHAT CUSTOMERS THINK ...

I was trying to use a coupon that I received by mail, and a woman by the name of Jill refused to allow me to use it only because she couldn't find my phone number in the system. She sounded bother just by me telling her that I had never giving them my number before. She was looking at me as if I was from another planet. Must of been my accent I guess. Unfortunately this type of things would never go away. Some people would simply judge you by the way you look. Very disappointed experience. I have use this store in different occasions but if this is the type of customer service I'm going to have to deal with, you better believe this would be the last time that I would step foot into this facility

Best neighborhood hardware store around. Lots of people to help when you have questions! Prices can be better than Lowell’s up 301. Lots of fun stuff too.Dollar General next door to get bargains on food and such. A perfect shopping spot.

While I have gone to this store multiple times with no issue, yesterday was an off one and will never come back again! While I think it's great to employ older cashiers bc I genuinely think they are better at customer service, the cashier " jill" needs to be retrained on how to deal with customers. Her attitude was very poor, and she did not know how to solve problems. Instead of asking for help, she would just rather treat the customers poorly just to move on with her day. Very unpleasant experience.

Negative Experience at Ace Hardware in EllentonRecently had a less-than-stellar visit to Ace Hardware in Ellenton. Needed a replacement key after a mishap, so I called ahead. Manager Mike, who was quite helpful at first, quoted me $325 for a key with a warranty. Mid-conversation, he gets distracted but then comes back with a better deal for $280, warranty included, telling me to just mention his name in-store.Fast forward to my in-store visit, and it's a different story. Mike's not there, and Assistant Manager Steve looks at me like I'm speaking another language. No record or recognition of the deal Mike offered me. I ask them to follow up with Mike, hoping for some resolution.Turns out, when Mike gets back to me, he has no memory of our conversation. I'm left hanging with no key, no deal. It’s not about Mike possibly forgetting; it's more about how stretched thin they seem, juggling too much, maybe? It made me question Ace Hardware's focus on customer service, something I thought they were known for.Just tossing this out there – not sure if anyone reads these or if it’ll make a difference. But maybe, just maybe, it could be a little nudge for Ace to rethink multitasking at the expense of customer service.For now, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere, in search of a place that keeps its word and keeps track of its offers.

We met a friend in the parking area and I had to check out this Ace location. This is so much more than your typical hardware store and I actually ended up picking up a few things myself. This location offers a full line of do it yourself items including tools, paint and paint supplies, cleaning products and cordless power tools. In addition to being a full hardware supply professional they also provide a variety of gift ideas, personal soap products, cell phone accessories, cups and mugs, knives and other hard to find products that other vendors may not carry. I would recommend this location for your go to gift shop as well. I was genuinely impressed with my shopping experience at this location!

I love this store. The employees are always friendly and very knowledgeable. Some people complain that the prices are to high but I don’t find them that much higher then the big box stores plus I always try to support the independent small business establishment. I went there the other day looking for some paint for my Owl Box project and Beth did a great job recommending and mixing the paint I needed. I also needed a bunch of nuts and bolts and Judy helped me out, in fact she filled out my list in a snap for me. You can’t always put a price on 5 Star Service and this place certainly delivers the goods in my humble opinion. I highly recommend this Ace Hardware location for all things hardware

The guys who help you out are great, but the old lady cashiers need to go, they treat customers with attitude, especially if you’re young and have tattoos they look at you like your beneath them. This is why self checkout is replacing yall.

Visited the store to purchase a Black stone Grill. To my surprise Zane offered to have the grill delivered to my house for no additional charge. Literally 30 minutes later the grill was delivered and setup on my lanai.Both the customer service experience and grill are amazing!!!!!Highly recommend both this location and Black stone.

I love coming here. The cashiers greet you when you walk in and you never have to search far for help. Reminds me of small town stores. In fact, 99% of the time, someone here asks if they can help you within a few minutes of coming in. At the "other" stores, good luch finding any help at all. Yes, prices are a little higher but I personally would rather pay more and get the personable and helpful customer service you get here any day!!

We love ace and give them business regularly. Won't be anymore. I'll save money and go elsewhere. There carpet machine didn't work at all and I let them know and they said that they were just serviced 2 days ago. Also I cleaned the thing and according to them they wanted to charge me Because it wasn't cleaned to perfect specs. It's a carpet cleaner. Now I'm heading home 30 minutes to wash it again and will never give Ace my business again. I was treated so poorly.. They have machines that are old and if you tell them that they look at you like you have 5 heads. No refund and no saying sorry. Guess the customer isn't right with them and they just want to steal money. I have to go Rent another carpet cleaner now that my runs are destroyed by there junk.

Just left the Ellenton store and had the worst encounter with Beth. Drove round trip from Suncity for a part they said was in stock. When I arrived, they did not have my part and said employee made a mistake. No apologies, just attitude. Beth actually threw me out of the store when I asked what she could do and her name and contact number. Stormed off yelling for me to "get out of her store". Wow...

I was looking for a tiny metal washer. I was unfamiliar with the store so I stopped a sales person and asked for help. He not only walked me back to the correct aisle, he asked me more about what I was looking to purchase. He then guided me to a better option than what I thought I needed. Good customer service is hard to find these days. I was very impressed.

At delivery it was none other than store manager Mike who assisted Zane with the delivery.Purchased a grill that was assembled and delivered FREE. Chain stores just can't compete with this level of service. Thank you.
