Came here and paid $50 plus tips for an incomplete haircut. The head was barely cut and the hair in the chin was long looking my poor dog like an old grandpa I told her and she said she couldn’t do more. I could of done better myself!

Because of previous owner's reviews, I would make it EXTREMELY CLEAR on HERE, that the shop has a NEW OWNER as of the DATE YOU TOOK OVER! Otherwise you are fighting a ghost right off the bat.What is the deal with the Emoji choices? Is that something you chose, or is that from Maps? It doesn't allow us to use the proper feelings at all!

Took our chocolate Labrador Jedi in for a nail trim without a booking and they took us in right away! Super friendly staff our dog was so comfortable with them grinding his nails! Great price too only $5, highly recommend this dog salon!

I almost didn’t go because of various reviews. We just moved to Dunnellon we were looking for a groomer that was local kind and understanding I’m so happy that we ignored some of the reviews that said bad things last Saturday we had our dog there first time since we moved. He wasn’t very happy when we came to pick him up he smelled so good his cut was so good, I’ll go there forever now please realize when people put bad things about businesses Open other people end up not going you are destroying the livelihood of many families, give it a chance just as I did, and you too will agree and say how wonderful they are!

I've been going there I think for a couple of years, they've been doing okay. I always have to take my dog Cody home and redo him cuz everything's not even. This time, the ears were so long he had a schnauzer cut on the side of his mouth straight edge rather than looking like a pomapoo should and originally they thought they cut his tongue that it was his fault. He licked the scissors lol. Turns out they cut my puppies bottom lip and it was bleeding. I paid and tipped and was in my car and my poor pup Cody was bleeding on his bottom lip even on my little doggie blanket I had in the car for him. I rolled down my window and talked to the owner. I forget her name and someone that was grooming. I wasn't sure if they really knew what they were doing. The owner was telling her how to blend his snout fur. I called them over and she took Cody back in to put septic on his bottom lip. Then came out and said oh I thought it was worse than it was lol worse than it was? She cut my dog's lip. And no apology from either one of them, not even the owner. What do they expect on a review? I know things happen but.. I've had dogs my entire life and had them groomed and never had my dog cut in any manner. Maybe a little razor burn, still isn't the nicest for my dog. Anyway, that was the last time that I will go there and they didn't even give me any compensation of money back or say money off my next grooming. What a traumatic experience for my pet now he really won't want to go to. I'm always careful where I take my pets so this is off my list. Hopefully you think twice about taking your pup there!!

You can rest easy leaving your puppies in Cheryl's capable hands. Anyone who can get my George to just sit quietly and have his nails trimmed, is nothing short of being a Magician. You will like her. My dog's ❤️ her, and that's what really matters. George and Gracie give her five stars and I trust their opinion. Well maybe not so much Gracie, because she loves just about everybody. Nobody really knows exactly what kind of dog Gracie is, but when I asked the vet, he told me she was a cute dog. But George, is a Jack, Russell, Chihuahua mix, and he likes only about five people in the world. So trust George, Make an appointment at Hair of the Dog and I'm sure you will not be sorry.

Sheryl has gone way up on prices. Took my Yorkie in for a "mini groom" not much done and charged us $50 which was $25. Rude with inappropriate remarks. Not going back, found Shear Bliss Mobile Pet Grooming through my neighbor and Sara is awesome and comes to us. She covers Marion County, Citrus & Hernando. Kind, gentle and reasonable. Full groom for $45 for my Yorkie.

Cheryl is awesome. I take my dog Leo here the last couple years he is a 15yr old cockapoo. Cheryl does the best and fastest job I love it. Out of any groomer we have been to I know she is gonna get the job done right and quickly. I really appreciate that bc Leo hates getting groomed, but he doesn’t mind going here. I know it’s bc Cheryl doesn’t make the grooming process long and drawn out like other places that take like 4hrs and he wouldn’t look nearly as great. Highly recommend her as a groomer!

This is the best dog grooming place around!!!! My dog was scared of groomers till we started coming here. Now every time she walks in the door she gets happy to get a haircut. I haven't waited longer than 1 and a half hours for my dog to be completely cut and bathed. I have been here many times and the quality of the cut is better each time.

Cheryl grooms my dog here. She does a very nice job. I have a 20 pound dog. He has short hair so does not need to be cut. She bathes, cuts his nails, cleans his ears, and cleans his teeth. Of importance is that she does not crate the dogs.

They wanted to shave dogs that have a double coat (which should NEVER be fully shaved) they shaved their tummy and hacked the hair so bad it wasn’t even smooth. Then they charged 200 for each dog. I wouldn’t take a hairless dog to them 😡

Cheryl is the best. I highly recommend her to care for your pet. I did my yorkshire terrier, 2 collies and one beautiful mutt. She is so loving to the dogs. A stupendous and loving lady!! PLUS, next door is her husband's barber shop. A great kind and highly experienced couple. So take care of your dogs, and get your hair done while waiting. A GREAT TEAM TO DO BUSINESS WITH!!! Great experience. The owner Cheryl was very pleasant, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. My 60 lb girl went happily with Cheryl to get a flea bath and nail trim. I can not believe Cheryl was able to clip her nails, wow. The shop was very clean. My girl waited for me to pick her up in a nice sized private open top lattice type kennel, not a dog crate.Overall I was so pleased and so was my girl. The shop is closed Sunday and Monday so leave a message and you will be called back. Easy parking. Not a big sign so a little hard to notice the shop from the street. We will be back.

I called to make appointment for two full grooms for my two maltese dogs. She said she would not be able to fit them in until 3 weeks from now. I said ok. It had been a year since we had been there (in the past she was always able to schedule them for grooms within a day or two).She said she put them down for Thursday, May 3rd. I wrote it down but did not realize it was WRONG until a few days before appointment when double checked calendar and saw the 3rd falls on a Tuesday). I waited three weeks and did not to try to find another groomer available sooner because trusted this one with our “scheduled appointment.” Big mistake because she did NOT show me the same courtesy. After several phone messages and texts, she chose to completely IGNORE EVERY one! What kind of so-called “professional business owner” does that to their clients?! It is appalling because my dogs, Casper and Daisy, did NOTHING TO DESERVE THIS. Groomers who can willingly do this to their dog clients, do not deserve loyal dog clients. I also did nothing to be treated this way.

NEVER take your large breed dog for grooming. They have to be manually lifted up into the bath. We are still working with vet/chiropractor to help our boy after a one time first visit! 😢

The owner is extremely helpful, friendly. Both of my fur-babies love her. She does such fun cuts on my little man ( this month he has the “ hyena cut”) which is adorable!! I would highly recommend her and her shop!! Extremely happy with the services provided.

I brought my dog to get her nails cut and it was amazing. We were in and out in 5-10mins and they did a fantastic job. Her nails are very dark and at other places they get cut too short or barely at all but the ladies here did it perfect. Not to mention the prices are the best if ever seen. Just make sure you bring cash or check with you. All in all I highly recommend Hair of the Dogs Grooming!

My big girl likes being groomed here. They are very good. Kind women, good prices. Great grooming. But most important,my dog likes coming here. That's the best I can ask for, and I drive 16 miles past other shops because she gets sohappy even driving past. No crates. No hidden dungons.. just happy little wagging tails. And the big 62 lb girl
