We discovered Grumbles, when passing by. So we checked them out. We parked along the street, and entered through one of the many entrances. This "store", consists of two buildings, plus a cafe', as well as multiple areas outside. They're hours on the sign were, Monday through Saturday, 10am-5pm. Sunday, 11am-3pm.I will say that we were surprised not only with the deceptive appearing size of Grumbles. But also by the variety of different types of items Grumbles carries. We walked around outside before venturing inside. Outside had lots of plants, yard ornaments and yard art. Inside the buildings had the indoor types of items.The main building is an older two story house, with many rooms and hallways filled with goods. I could say that they were jammed packed, but that makes it sound over crowded. Whereas Grumbles has almost too much, but not to the point over crowded. I loved a lot of the antique items upstairs. Many of them reminded me of my past.The second building is more of a women's clothing boutique. That in itself was larger than it looked from the outside. Then there was a cafe', outside the main house on the side. They were not open when we visited on a Monday. They are open Tuesday, through Saturday, 10am-3pm.I can say we found Grumbles to be a great way to spend some time, whether you find something to take home or not.

2024-02-13: This place is amazing! From the street, it looks like a small place. The property extends way behind the house and has the most amazing selection of plant pots and outdoor stone sculptures. They also have some plants, bushes, and trees. Inside the house, every room is packed with a wide variety of small antiques, jams and jellies, soaps, and much, much, more...just amazing!

I took well over a hundred pictures and still wasn't able to capture it all. This place is amazing and magical. I felt like I was at a shop straight out of a Harry Potter movie. I absolutely fell in love with the house.

My son and I visited just a few days ago. The place is wonderful! Unfortunately, one of the staff members was rude to my son at checkout. He is special needs and wanted to buy me a plant. He took the plant inside to purchase it. The staff member was rude and told him not to put the plant on the counter. I would have done the same thing. There was no one outside for him to pay, so he went inside.Anyway, we are local residents and I was taken aback at her rudeness to my son. He was trying to do something nice for his momma. It really made me feel so bad for him. This is a great place! Maybe some of your people need some hospitality training. I just thought you should know. We will be back and I hope our next visit is a little nicer.

I shopped at grumbles today for the first time. We enjoyed lunch at sweetie's afterwards. I highly recommend this uniquely decorated shop. Their garden pots are absolutely beautiful. There are many unique gifts for every taste. They have antiques upstairs and gifts galore downstairs. The ladies were very kind. One word of caution is that you cannot use your debit or credit card for purchases under $10. So you may want to have some cash with you. My parents and I made some purchases and were pleased with the products. I am even bringing a gift back home to Illinois.

We just absolutely fell in love with this place. We bought some pretty cool stuff. They have so many unique items to purchase. Then the Unique Sweetie Cafe and Tea House next door is one of a Kind. Great Food, great fun, great atmosphere. These places are a must visit!

My husband and I stopped back in to pick up more of the AMAZING pots they have and we just can't say thank you to Alex enough for all of his help!! Everytime we go he is always so AWESOME!! He always guides me to the best plants with his excellent knowledge. This trip was the BEST because they had the Honeysuckle I had been waiting to get 🙂 Best day ever!!!

Beyond unique and amazing. You can find the most unique gifts here and I guarantee you will get something for yourself and find time has passed you by as you browse from room to room that has so many treasures within it.This house sits on the corner and isn't the only special place there.Next door in the green building you will find clothing and jewelry, across the road is another hidden treasure of Crazy Chicks where you find more amazing treasures and more.

Made a trip in search of a large piece of exterior wall art for my mother's house. What a mind-blowing experience it turned out to be.Grumbles House is just slightly off the well-traveled path of FL State Route 41, in Dunellon, FL. This former turn of the century, two-story, stately home has been transformed into an oddity shop of epic proportions! The adage, "if they don't have it then you don't need it", definitely applies here. Everything from trinkets & baubles, to lawn & house ornaments, to plants and art can be found here...and much more. It's nearly overwhelming, and I love it.Did I mention the quaint little cafe'? Because there's a quaint little cafe' off to the side of the main house, down a pathway, though all the large trees & lawn ornaments. I didn't eat this trip, but I really wanted to!You'll also find a smaller home converted into a clothing/jewelry/antique boutique on the same property, but that's another review for another time.

Very beautiful shop with tons of vintage and non vintage options, however the prices are inflated a lot for the newer items compared to the same thing online.

Paid a visit to this establishment last weekend. Pretty nice place and layout. They had quite a few eye catchers and the garden area had nice plants, but most of the prices were outrageous. I understand inflation has gone up, but charging over $75 for a metal painted fish that wasn’t even a foot long? Crazy! I mean do the owners realize people have the internet? I don’t know about you, but when I am confronted with high prices, I just look online for a cheaper place to find what I want. Overall not a total waste, because I found what caught my eye much cheaper online. Maybe turn the place into a museum if your not expecting your customers to buy anything.

I was looking for flowers or plants that I could make arrangements myself, as I always do every year, being new to area just driving around or googling places,I stopped here. This place was just breathtaking! So. Many many plants,flowers,ceramic decor, ceramic planters small or extremely large ones, water fountains & so on inside! So nicely set up all around house. There is lots of unique items, reasonably priced inside. Great staff that helps answer all your questions of different plants & flowers, that actually grow here sun or shade etc etc . I’m so used to what we grew in PA not the same here, but I’ll learn. Thank you all for your hospitality as I visited your place.

We arrived to the shop at 4:52. Both ladies working made it very clear that they closed at 5:00. They weren’t friendly about it and made it clear they didn’t want to give us even a minute past 5:00. We walked in and immediately found some interesting items that we would have been interested in burying, but yet again we were reminded they closed at 5:00. At that point I told my daughter we would not be purchasing the items she wanted and we would be leaving. There were 7 of us genuinely wanting to purchase gifts but we walked away given the unfriendly welcome and courtesy they sent our way. What happens to the courtesy of allowing customers an opportunity to look around so long as they make into the shop before closing?

So I don't write these reviews but after the experience I wanted to express how happy I was with not only the incredible selection but the help I got from the sales associate. It was raining and she didn't have to personally show me what I was looking for a simple point in the direction would have sufficed. She went out of her way to make sure the giraffe was there and got totally soaked showing me. That kind of service with a smile just doesn't exist in present day. I live an hour away and will travel tobuy from this unique store again for sure

I love Grumbles. So much to see! I could spend hours there. I live in Iowa and visit there every time I come to seemy sister. And I buy them a gift card whenever I want to send a present that I KNOW they will use and enjoy. Something for everyone! They are friendly and fun there. And when they have to require masks, it is because they care about their customers and their own households too. To my knowledge, no one has died from masking up.

Beautiful place, great people. Everyone was very helpful in getting our pavers and plants lifted into our truck, I’ve found beautiful things for the inside of my home and a few cute things to wear as well here. A really fun place to go. Idk why there are bad reviews about masks but no one was wearing them or making anyone wear them when we wear there, it is your choice. We saw no signs and everyone was very pleasant. I hope you don’t miss this place if you’re in town, it’s one of our best spots!!

I wish I could give this wonderful place six stars! We spent a few days in the area and chose to visit Grumbles on a cool, rainy day. This time I was glad for the weather! This house and garden shop is simply beautiful! It has antiques and gifts but it has far more, such as gourmet jams and sauces, books, and a myriad of interesting goodies. We walked through the gardens and were delighted to see that they offer Florida native plants as well as hybrids and cultivars of natives and the tropical exotics people love. They have an enormous selection of pots for your plants and garden tools and accessories for tending your plants. If I lived nearby, I'd likely spent lots of money here.

It's a shame that mask wearing is such an issue. Wearing it during the pandemic protects not only you but OTHER PEOPLE. Please be respectful if a shop asks you to wear one.Staff is always friendly, very knowledgeable, and helpful when you ask about plants. None of my plants purchased there have died, and I've bought other items there as well as one of my larger rugs. Guest lectures have been great - I loved the snake discussion!

Went here yesterday and absolutely loved it. My husband is STILL raving about how much he loves it. In fact we are so impressed that he is bringing my daughter to look around today . I accidentally came across this place traveling back from Inglis Florida to Lake Panasoffkee Fl. It grabbed my attention as soon as I came by it, because it's a beautiful big house made into a nursery/ gift shop. I had my husband turn around and go back to check it out and am so glad we did🌺Such a quaint unique place with so many wonderful treasures. A great one tank destination. We will be returning.

I have visited the Grumbles House in the historic district of Dunnellon several times over the past 8 years. I don't know the origin of the Grumbles name for the house, but grumbling is not something I do or feel when I am there. As you will see by the videos and photos I uploaded, it has a surreal midsomer magic aura, starting with the exterior grounds that are lush with plants, both part of the landscaping and for sale. While still outside, a good portion is devoted to a plethora of concrete statuary and unique concrete stepping stones and pavers. When you enter the 2 story house, which is clearly of an historic era, you see a wide range of tableaus for the merchandise. I am not clear on this, but I believe most of the merchandise is curated from local vendors, like a antique mall, but as many of the same vendors wares appear in multiple tableaus, I don't know if Grumble staff do the layouts or if these are separate vendor spaces. It doesn't matter as a buyer and browser what the story is, but the result is beautiful to see and explore. For those who are mobility challenged, the original stairs to the second floor of merchandise are steep, not wide, more that 1 story tall (because of the unusually high ceilings on the ground floor), and no elevator was seen. Also, the ground floor is so packed with deliciousness, that navigating in a wheelchair or scooter might result in crashing into displays. Payment methods that are accepted include cash and major credit cards. There is free on street parking available that is shared by all the businesses in the area and available spots close to Grumbles may be hard to come by. The prices vary widely; I would put most of them at the $$ to $$$$ range, with a rare $.

When we discovered this place last year we thought it was a treasure that we would keep visiting for years and as such we have spent a significant amount of money here, but today will be the last time we will support this store. We understand that shop owners have the right to choose what rules to set for customers but customers also have the right to choose what stores to spend their hard earned dollars at. When I am told that since I don’t have a mask I need to get out of the store and go to a back door, stand outside and pay, then they don’t need my money. I don’t appreciate being treated like a second class citizen especially since I bring cash money to spend. I won’t recommend your store to anyone that chooses to live life without fear. By the way, so you know, I’ve been recently tested and I’m antibody positive.
