I could not say more good things about this place! Every staff member was so gentle and caring with my cat and I was so lucky they were able to see my within a few hours of calling in as a new patient! The Vet and Vet techs were very kind and knowledgeable. After the exam they informed me my cat needed emergency surgery very quickly and they would try to move around their schedule to get it done that night so she had the best chance. They got her in and was being operated on maybe an hour or so later. When I came to pick her up they were all so positive and helpful, I could see they really cared about my kitty cat and her wellbeing. I believe they even stayed late on a Friday to make sure she was stable to go home. They were also very conscious and sensitive to my financial situation and helped me the best they could there. My cat had a checkup after the weekend and they were all happy to see her recovering well! She is now home happy and recovering thanks to these amazing gals at the clinic.

Destin Animal Clinic is an extremely compassionate and professional veterinarian!We were on vacation with our sweet, fur baby, Peanut and we had a medical emergency and had to visit this clinic. They were honest in the diagnosis and the Dr. and staff went the extra mile in speaking to us and going over all of the details. They kept our Peanut comfortable and provided the best care possible!We are extremely grateful for the care that they provided Peanut and WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to anyone needing a veterinarian.

Our precious Sammy was diagnosed with MCT (2 in total) possibly 3 more after surgery. We are praying for his complete and definite healing.❤️‍ Cancer is the last word anyone wants to hear. It was devastating but I couldn’t thank enough the compassion and support I received from this clinic, not to mention the love ❤️ they had for Sammy. I will be eternally grateful to ALL but specially to his surgeon Dr. Michelle Barnett (your heart and expertise are heavenly sent) her technicians Morgan and Amber were so knowledgeable and compassionate towards the situation and Sammy.💗🐾 thanks a million!! If you are looking for a great Veterinarian don’t look further. This is the place I feel safe with Sammy’s health and I’m very picky so… 🙏

They were able to get us in immediately when my doggo got hit by a car, and was having some difficulties a few days later. Reasonably priced, and you can tell they genuinely care about your fur babies. They were very patient and answered any and all questions and eased any concerns we had. They followed up repeatedly to check on my Moonshine. I can't say enough good things about this vet. They were a bright spot in some of my darkest days.

An extremely good experience here. The two different vets we have had are both extremely friendly, the building is clean, and the prices are not Destin prices. Very affordable. They love on our German Sheps and took time with our old boy after he fell. Comfortable & kind.

This place is lost. Terrible terrible follow up’s and calling customers back, texting instead of calling. Your a business, act like it. We are all not 20 years old and don’t do everything by texts. After spending almost 2,000 in one setting 3 months ago, you think you could get more than a text stating, will text when we have availability, with no notice on to scheduling my work off! Unprofessional!

My dog loves this clinic. He drags me there everytime we walk by. Mind you he gets all of his vaccines at this location. We also travel a lot and board him with them. He still wants to go in every single time! 🐶

My experience at Destin Animal Clinic has always been amazing but today, they went above and beyond for something that should have been so simple and quick! I brought my dog for his nail trimming which he’s always been nervous even though we have worked with him on positive experiences since we brought him home as a puppy. Today he froze at the front door and made himself like a rock sprawled on the ground! Instead of forcing him to the back, before I knew it 4-5 of the technicians decided to turn it around and make it a very positive experience for Opie. They all came up front. One person stood by the door to keep from others walking in and scaring him. They gave him treats, peanut butter, pet him, held him, talked to him, all the while one tech was cutting his nails. By the end of it he was wagging his tail, licking everyone’s faces, and walking around again. These ladies were so compassionate, and the fact that they took the time to work with him.. I can just see their genuine love for animals and for their jobs. It was such a sweet experience for me to see my dog in good and caring hands.

The doctors are incredibly knowledgeable and the staff is so loving. They are good communicators and let you know not only what is going on with your pet, but also the finances that may be involved.They have been honest the whole way through for a variety of problems my kitty has had. In the short time I have been seeing them, they have accurately diagnosed and treated my senior cat for several different problems. All of the treatment has been successful.They encourage you to be a connected part of the care they give the animal. This includes showing imaging, allowing you to recognize symptoms, and being in tune with your animal. They have done a great job explaining what is going on with my pet and how I should been involved with a successful treatment plan.I am so grateful for them and their care of my kitty.

These people are true angels on earth. I live an hour away and would NEVER consider using anyone else. They helped us put 2 of our beloved pets to rest. The staff is kind, compassionate, empathetic and loving. Beautiful people. 5 stars is not nearly enough. God bless this clinic.

If I could give this clinic zero stars I would. We took our dog here and they were so abusive and neglectful. They were unhelpful and made me feel like a horrible person for not having my dog sedated when they were the ones who were grabbing him and terrifying him when he was so scared. He peed on me and was so terrified and they did nothing to help the situation. After they left the girl working was annoyed that she had to clean up the pee. I just recently tried to take my dog back to the vet and he is so traumatized. It is very heartbreaking. I would not recommend taking any animal to this vet in a million years.

Our family had made the heartbreaking decision to put our dog Jasper down. He had been suffering from seizures several times a week and several times a day when he did have them. They would last at least 10 minutes and sometimes I would have to stimulate his breathing. He would fall off couches, beds and even once knocked himself out. He is over 10 years old. My husband and son took him in and they explained why they needed to put him down and they waited past their appointment time 30 minutes. No big deal, they waited in the car. The girl came out with the paperwork and asked if they were sure and she took him (she was kind). They were surprised because they didn’t see the vet, but figured they had his history. My Son and Husband were emotional, of coarse, we were losing a member of our family. What we did not expect is a phone call when my husband got home, from an older Woman Vet, shaming my husband, asking why we were having this animal put down! She said she was looking at a perfectly healthy dog and speaking loud enough for my son to hear her from the phone. She said she had no history of the dogs seizures or blood work, but when we moved here 2 years ago with the dog and took him to the vet, I had given themCopies of his complete medical history from the previous vet. And we talk about his seizures at every vet appointment. Stay away from this place!!! This woman needs to get out of this line of work.

Destin Animal Clinic is by far the best vet I’ve ever been too! They are so kind, patient, and informative! Soooo affordable especially for the area they are in! They truly care about my dog and his well being. They also make it really easy to view things such as lab results and reports. Literally just one click of a button on your phone! I recommend them to everyone I know!

My husband brought in my little buddy to see what was wrong. He was not acting himself. He was 18 1/2 years old and we were really concerned about him. He was faced with the hardest diagnostic to hear. my best friend, my little buddy had been diagnosed with hours to live. He had internal bleeding and the outlook was not good. They informed my husband of his situation and were able to give us enough time to get there to personally say our goodbyes, and they accommodated us so that everything was as easy as it could be due to the situation. They went above and beyond to help us in our hardest of time. The staff was so helpful and amazing to help me with everything. I miss my pal so much. I am grateful that the staff and veterinarian were so flexible to help us in our time of need. Thank you so much Destin Animal Clinic! You clearly care about your clients and their human friends!❤❤

The girl at the counter her name was Angela she was super rude , she told us it would be only an hour ,I waited two hours and then went back in and she had told me there was a dog worse off then mine so they took that dog first, witch my dog hadn’t been seen at all so how did she know that my dog wasn’t as bad off as the one they took first . She is not a doctor, and should choose words wisely before saying something hurtful like that to customers that are already upset about their dogs that are coming into this emergency clinic. Which they wouldn’t be coming in there if it wasn’t an emergency ithe first place, she was so rude so rude The rest of the staff was very nice. Dr was very professional. My husband was standing in the hallway, reading the certifications on the wall. When she told him he had to leave the hallway and shut the door hard behind him. He was doing nothing wrong, and was not in anyone’s way. I have never experienced somebody so rude and disrespectful at any place in my life. She needs to not be in a job position where she deals with people because she does not know how to conduct herself when people come into a animal emergency veterinarian they’re already upset and on pins and needles and she needs to be different acting or needs to get a different position .

The Vet Techs are fantastic! I consider them to be warm, upbeat, knowledgeable, and skilled. Dr. Epperson..., in short, he is hands down one of the best Veterinarians in the Panhandle. He is top notch in regards to his demeanor, knowledge, timeliness, humor, and thorough evaluation style. He demonstrated an uncanny ability to put both myself and my fur-babies at ease. Dr. Epperson, took amazing care of me and my canine during her quality of life eval. I sough him out for a 2nd opinion. It was evident that he had reviewed her records prior to our appointment. I was in visible distress as my pet was not terminally ill nor actively dying. Though, geriatric with multiple conditions for which I desired to not lead to suffering. I wished to end her life prior to the onset of suffering or an unanticipated painful last breath. Dr. Epperson, sat on the floor with me and talked to me for over an hour. This appointment was above and beyond the most compassionate meeting with a veterinarian that I have ever had in my entire life.My rating of 3 comes from the Practice Manager (PM) being unqualified to effectively communicate with me when I was under duress on multiple occasions due to my pets failing health.Firstly, the PM provided inaccurate information related to pharmaceutical options for compounding (liquid) alternative medication formulations for my pet when she began to refuse oral tablets and capsules. The PM spoke with authority on matters of which she was clearly lacking in knowledge. To her credit, once she communicated with a Veterinarian on staff, she did contact me with report of her inaccuracies and provision of options for my pets medicinal needs of which compounded formulas were available.Secondly, I found her to be insensitive during an urgent time in which my ill pet needed a simple urinalysis to rule in/out a UTI, but I had no time off of work in which to schedule a formal appointment for such of which she demanded be done. I had personally collected the sample and refrigerated the urine that morning at 5a.m., as is appropriate to do in such a situation. Not my 1st rodeo to say the least. And UTIs were pretty routine for my pet at that time due to a pre-existing condition of which the clinic was aware, given her recent evaluation. Fortunately, the Vet at Kindness Pet Hospital on 30-A, allowed me to drop off urine sample for testing. As a pet parent, single with limited resources, I was beyond grateful.My personal frustration and manner of speaking with the PM was certainly not my best look! I was frustrated and distressed. I was a pet mom in need of help. Admittedly, I felt remorse for losing my cool with the PM. Though, had she the communication skills to de-escalate my distress with compassion and perhaps taken the time to help problem solve the matter, (e.g., accept the urine and book the canine for a future appt on a day in the near future in which I cld arrange to take off of work) or some effort on her part to demonstrate empathy and human to human respect without hiding behind "these are the policies" ...it's unlikely our interaction would have turned so sour.Lastly, I was not aware that our correspondence had led her to consult the powers that be and terminate me as a client from their clinic. In fact, the day of the pick-up of my beloved dogs remains was the day and time in which the PM chose to inform me that I was no longer welcome to bring my cat to the clinic nor any future animals. I had been fired as a client. I wasn't afforded the opportunity to share my side of the exchange with those with whom she communicated leading to their backing of my termination.In closing, I highly recommend Dr. Epperson and his team of competent veterinary technicians! That said, if you find yourself distressed or in crisis as a pet parent, utilize caution when speaking to the PM. And, fact-check any information she provides you regarding medications, procedures, and care instructions for your pet, as she is clearly operating in a position of authority beyond her level of competence and expertise.

I have taken both my cat and dog to Destin Animal Clinic over the years, and without fail, every single time they are amazing. Dr. Epperson is such a great vet, and he and the entire staff are all incredibly kind and compassionate. They consistently go above and beyond. The vet techs are always so nice to me and love on my dog so much every time I brought her in.When she was diagnosed with leukemia a few months ago, Dr. Epperson called me personally to deliver the bad news. He and all of the staff have been so understanding, sincere , and non-judgmental throughout this entire process. I've been to other vets that rush you in and out and don't give you a chance to ask them any questions - Dr. Epperson has never done that. He always takes his time examining my pet, and never seems like he is in a hurry. He always has time to discuss what's going on and listen to my concerns. His first priority always seems to be the welfare of the animals in his care.At one point a few years ago, I had to bring my dog in for a foot injury when money was tight and he even waived the exam fee for me. When I've had to call with a follow up question, or to get a medication refilled, the person answering the phone has always been polite and prompt to find the answers for me. The times I've had emergencies and needed an appointment quickly, they have always been able to work me in, usually the same day, or if not then the day after. Even when it is not an emergency, I've never had to wait more than a few days to get an appointment.I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Epperson and this clinic, and there is no other vet in Destin that I would rather take my pets. I cannot recommend them enough.

I could not be more satisfied with this clinic. First, they saw us very quickly even though we were from out of town and had no prior relationship. Second, the doctor was so patient and had great bedside manner. He very clearly laid out several different options and gave us the opportunity to choose what we thought was best for our dog. When we returned home our vet said they were very thorough and in line with what they would have done. Overall, we felt like the doctor cared very deeply for our pet, which is what we were looking for.

My now blind and elderly dog has been a patient here for years. She and I have always been treated with the utmost compassion and respect. The staff is amazing and treat every patient like it’s their own pet. The vets here explain everything going on and are great at dealing with difficult situations. I want to say first that the women assistants were wonderful. Helpful, great with our dogs and obviously very caring. The vet on duty, and the only one on site, we felt was mediocre at best. He apparently wasn't a regular vet there (which we didn't understand)and told us right off that he only had 45 minutes to get to his regular job at the emergency clinic. This was after we had just waited well over an hour past our appointment time to even see him. When we left we didn't realize until we got home they had given us the blood test results for some other dog. We had a hard time getting the correct ones and finally had to stop back by on the way to the cardiologist. We just hope what we finally got was the real results. I guess it's best summed up by saying I would not go back unless we had no other options available.

Initial visit for my pup who has had repeated ear infections for a solid month. They tested to find out the specific cause and offered specific meds to focus treat this particular bacteria in his ears. Such a thorough look at the cause of the r infection before treating !Not only was I impressed at the individualized medical attention we received but the professionalism and time they took explaining it all and TLC with my pup t was OVER THE TOO!! I ca tell this vet clinic values their patient! Even relaxing music to calm the animals waiting! Wow! Thank you Dr Epperson and Courtney and assistants for the amazing first time patient/owner experience😀😇

We have had the pleasure of seeing Dr Epperson and Dr. Hartley and both are two of the most compassionate and knowledgeable veterinarians we have ever worked with. They take the time to explain everything and make you feel very comfortable with treatment plans. The rest of the staff is equally as wonderful. Highly recommend this group!
