The bird world can be awful. You see birds that are not cared for and dishonest businesses. I can honestly say that Golden Cockatoo is the best business I have ever worked with. Working with Debbie and Ian was fantastic. They obviously care for their beautiful birds. They are also are honest and kind. I have never seen a business with such a high level of integrity. I will definitely shop there again!!!

I honestly can’t thank the team at golden cockatoo enough for the incredibly kind, and caring experience I have had with them. Samantha spent 20 minutes on the phone with me explaining different bird breeds and behaviors to me. I came in to cuddle some birds with no intention of bringing one home any time soon, I recently lost my Jenday. But I fell in love with a sweet baby golden conure. Ian and Samantha were both so incredibly helpful in aiding me in bringing this girl home. The entire staff was genuinely excited for me and showed enthusiasm helping me pick out perches and toys. I brought my new baby home with me today and I don’t have enough words of thanks to give this place. Thank you Golden Cockatoo team <3

The most wonderful bird store I have ever encountered. I searched all of South Florida to find a friendly tamed bird and finally found one at the Golden Cockatoo.Their staff was helpful, friendly and well knowledgable in birds. They helped me choose the perfect bird and even let me play with all of them before making a decision. I’ve never met such friendly birds! Truly an amazing experience!!I shop there now for bird food, toys and to visit the friendly birds. I’ve never had a Cockatoo cuddle up next to me! I was always so scared of larger birds and they taught me how to read their body language. Thank you Golden Cockatoo!!

Golden Cockatoo is a fantastic place if you love birds, like birds, or have an interest in learning more about birds as companions (and maybe buying one). We bought a 4.5 month old female African Grey from this store. Debbie and her team TRULY CARE for these creatures’ well being. These birds are properly fed and cared for, they are socialized and engaged, and the facilities and cages are clean. The bird was not cheap, but these sentient beings can live for 40-50 years (if properly cared for), and you get what you pay for. Princess is happy, healthy, and well adjusted. A sincere THANK YOU to Debbie and the dedicated staff here.

Heather was exceptional in her knowledge and care for the birds. We went in to look at Eclectus/ African Greys and she brought the birds out for us, showed us how to pick up on their cues, and spent a tremendous amount of time with us to explain the care and needs of the birds etc. We're still in the process of making sure a bird makes sense for us, but when the time comes, we wouldn't consider buying from anyone else! Great store with even better employees who truly care.

i made the 45 min drive to golden cockatoo after getting my major mitchell’s cockatoo.. it is hard to find cute durable toys and accessories for large size birds… but golden cockatoo had plenty!! XLL ladders, XL perches.. you name it. my little bird got some awesome goodies too. remember you pay for quality with bird toys! their prices are reasonable. super cool birds in the store all super well cared for and happy. fun to talk with. this is the parrot spot for sure.

When walking into the store I did not expect all the birds to be out and socializing. I was a little hesitant walking in them but everyone made me feel so welcome! My girlfriend and I came in looking for a cockatiel but were amazed at all the other birds and how friendly they were. We got involved with speaking to one of the associates named Debbie. Thank god for her because we knew nothing about birds. She handed my girlfriend and i so many different birds that just melted our hearts. Debbie spoke highly of each and every one of those birds and cared for them like they were her own and knew everything about them and their personalities. No we did not leave with a bird today but now we know EXACTLY where to go to get the perfect one. I 10/10 recommend this store to anyone if you’re looking for a life long buddy. And make sure you ask for Debbie. :)

Hands down the greatest exotic bird store around! From supplies to birds they have it all with the most knowledgeable and friendly staff in the business! These birds are extremely well cared for and their personalities and affectionate manner show it. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to run into Debbie, Heather and Samantha. The staff are worth going to meet alone! I definitely recommend a visit if you’re a bird enthusiast or want to go the extra mile for your own birds and stock up on some accessories or grooming. I visited the golden cockatoo for the first time, it was an amazing experience, tons of exotic birds and the staff is very friendly, Heather was very friendly and showed us around the store and let us hold the birds, Tasmin who also works there let us play with her bird, lala who is a sweetheart. I bought my very old cockatiel and fiesty quaker to get their nails clipped and beaks filed. I am very cautious with who I allow near my pets. The store is absolutely fabulous and spotless. The birds appear healthy and more important happy!!!!Tazzy was so gentle with the birds. If I could give her 10 stars I would. They also board birds here which I might consider for an overnight or twoThank you Tazzy!

Buying a bird is NOT an easy experience. The golden cockatoo made as easy as possible, providing extremely high quality, socialized birds with very friendly, honest staff who demonstrate genuine care and love for the animals they work with. One of the employees, Cat, even helped me build my new bird's cage and gave me every tip in the book about being a successful bird owner! When purchasing birds this is a great spot. Just do some research prior. They do not offer refunds back on deposits. Also be mindful of purchasing a DNA test, I had to make two trips because they lost the first one. Then took longer than the provided time frame to find out the sex of our bird. Overall a decent experience.
