After reading other reviews and looking into this business, I'm going to do business with them. I believe they pull you in showing the dogs that need help ( which aren't many) so you can purchase a puppy instead.

I love my rescue Yorkie. Thank you for Glimmer of life for making it possible. yes, the fee might be higher than some other rescues, but they get great dogs.

I can’t imagine life without my Shmoo. Adoption fee is not cheap but I know how much they spend on care. Worth every penny

Wow!! Did not expect the level of professionalism and concern from this rescue. Yes, it is located in a high end puppy boutique and that is disconcerting but the staff and facilities are awesome. We were treated with care but the dogs came first. Thank you Glimmer of Life.

Over the years I have rescued 5 babies from Glimmer of life. All five were surrender babies because of medical problems or biting. The rescue had taken everyone of the babies to their vet, got their medical problems resolved, got shots up to date, teeth cleaned, and groomed. And the baby that was biting we had a come to Jesus meeting with him and I was Jesus and he no longer bites. He learned to bite his toys when he gets excited. Think about how much money they are laying out to get these babies healthy. I know I just paid $145. For one of my babies to get an injection to settle her stomach, $250 for teeth cleaning, somewhere around $150 for annual shots, then every dog is neutered or spayed and your going to pay at least $60. For grooming. Add it up and your well over $800. So they aren’t going to have an adoption fee of $200-$300. Plus they house and feed these babies and have a paid staff to take care of them.

We were looking to adopt a Rescue Dog and Glimmer of Life had the audacity to quote $1000.00 as the adoption Fee.We know it is expensive to take care of animals/Pets but quoting that amount as a fee is just pure greed. And with all the negative reviews, i was wary of doing business with them anyway. They say "they are a rescue organization but it looks more like an overpriced boutique.I feel not dealing with them is the right way to go.

I picked up our dog about 2 months ago. I took the dog to my vet for a checkup and they found 4 different parasitic worms and the dog was starving when I picked her up. I notified this Rescue Dog facility if they could help me out with the vet bill. She responded "you should have brought her to our vet." I thought this was silly since they promised to deliver me a healthy dog. I took the dog to my vet just to be sure it was healthy so that my other dog would not catch something. Unfortunately, my dog caught the parasites also. My total bill was more than $500 for both dogs. All because this Rescue Dog facility gave me a sick dog who was also starting when I got her. I have never seen such a small dog eat so loudly and quickly. I hope these people are well intended and this was just an unfortunate error. However, my gut is telling me something different.

If I can leave a negative star rating I would. My elderly mother lost her companion dog a couple of months ago. She wanted to rescue a puppy instead of purchasing. They had a 6-year-old Yorkshire terrier that my mom fell in love with and was told that the adoption fee was going to be $600. That was a little steep for an adoption but my mother really fell in love with the puppy. She had an interview and filled out an application and was waiting for an answer. They didn't return her phone calls so we decided to go in and visit the puppy and ask. They still didn't have an answer for her. Well they finally called and told her it was going to be $1,000 for the puppy. My mother is on a fixed income and really couldn't afford the $600. $1,000 was way out of her price range so she had to tell them no. Her heart is broken again. If you ever went into the store you would know why they charge so much, stay away not very good business practice.

Adopters beware, I read the reviews on this rescue, but went ahead anyway with the application because I know people aren’t always honest in a review. But sadly I was just as disappointed as others. They say it’s a 300.00 adoption fee, but when they called me and said it was 1,000 I asked why and was told it covers the cost of the neutering and micro chip. So why advertise it’s a 300.00 adoption fee. Very misleading and I feel I wasted their time and my own.

It’s hard to find shelter owners that care this much and invest so much of their own money and time into finding these abused animals homes and new owners that can take the proper care of these little woofs. I don’t get why everyone is complaining about the price, if you’re looking for a bargain consider going to build a bear.

Yes this is a high end pet store but the Rescue is separate entity. The Owners do a lot for abused dogs and I've seen matted dirty pups come in and get cleaned up and vetted out of their own pocket. As far as adoption fee, I've seen higher and just lately saw $1000 for rescue mix breed coming from china meat rescue. These are good people.

I went there to adopt princess, she was injured. I was willing to wait until she was healed. I called all of the time and she was not ready to be released from vet care. When she was ready all of a sudden she had a puppy by surprise. She is still available for adoption. They were dishonest with me! They still have the injured photo on line. They want to sell puppies all in cubes for an elevated price. They tried to get me to pay $2500 for an orphan. I will never go back or trust them. Stay clear, find a real human adoption center.

$1500 to adopt a dog? A rescue or a breeder? Honest or liars? Don’t try to cover up the reality of your ‘non-profit’ organization. You guys are breeders and greedy… be a real rescue and actually do some good

I came across Glimmer of Life "Rescue" after recently losing my precious Shih Tzu, one of our 3 small dogs. Her passing left my 5lb teacup Yorkie depressed and while he gets along with my older Havanese, the bond is not the same. I was hoping to rescue a small dog that wasn't a 'puppy' and found their site and they had a Yorkie up for adoption. I decided to drive up from Miami, fill out their application and meet them in person. I was surprised to find that they were located inside a high end store called "Teacups Puppies and Boutique". When I went inside I was greeted by many of the ladies working and I asked about the rescue dogs. All of the staff had very positive responses and gave me an application to fill out. They even brought 'Dorie' the rescue Yorkie out to meet me but did tell me that the Yorkie had a previous application and that family was coming today to see her, she may go home with them but not to worry that they had another small yorkie come back to their boutique today who had just been surrendered by their family. The family had purchased the 4lb Biewer from their Boutique. I asked to meet her , was told yes and add her name to my application. Asked to be patient and wait and they would bring her out to me. Time passed and I asked if she was coming out and I was then told the dogs had been taken to the dog park, they would review my application and get back to me. The next day I received a call saying that the dogs were available , the older Yorkie adoption fee was $600 and the Biewer was $800. I thought that sounded high for a dog that was being rescued but I ran home picked up my Yorkie and drove up to meet the dogs? When I got there I discovered that the Biewer was being given to a family that just walked into the Boutique that afternoon, couldn't possibly have had their vet credentials checked on a Sunday afternoon, yet they were turning over a 4lb baby they just received back the day before? I was certainly upset and disappointed after waiting the day before , filling out the application and expecting to be considered. I know I have excellent Vet references, job, home with a yard, another small dog at home and don't have younger children like the other family had been promised to have the opportunity to meet the dog, etc. I realized they really didn't have that baby's interests in mind they just wanted to move forward with 're-selling' a dog that they sold less than 2 years ago. For the adoption 'fee' of $800! I was very disappointed of course, but more disturbed by being misguided by the Owner and their lack of integrity, especially when it comes to such a small delicate dog, why not take the time and check everyone's references. I saw my vet a few days later, they never called her. So on a Sunday they certainly didn't make any calls for the other family's references!

This place is definitely a joke once you walk in you will see beautiful dogs thats not rescue dogs and yes these dogs im taking about are overly priced. But when I walked in I asked for the rescue dogs they went to the back its like the rescue dogs are hidden. The employee walked up to me with a white ugly dog that was totally different from the dog I've seen on their website. The employee stated that they don't get Yorkies as a rescue dogs but i can purchase a teacup Yorkie in the front of the store thats only $8000 .I Politely walked out the store and will never go back.TRUST ME DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.This is definitely a misleading company.

The really need to add a heart in their logo because this is a rescue that does a lot of good for the animal community. I once ran into the owner at BJs loading their car with fresh chicken and yogurt purchased to feed these babies. AmazingSave a life and visit this rescue

This place is not an adoption agency. They are charging $8,000 for a puppy. and none of the puppies listed on the website were in the store.

They sell and profit from "rescued" dogs. Not an actual rescue. Literally, what you pay for the "rescued" dog ($1000+) is the fee to take the dog with you. nothing else

Not a rescue!!!!!!!!!!!! How see they attempt to disguise themselves as one. Go to a real shelter. A shelter will never charge more than 200-300 dollars for a dog. Shame on you
