I have been coming to this place for 5 years. And Charlie used to be great. I recently brought my bird to be groomed. Now it is known as Bill's Birds. Unfortunately, the prices have doubled and the handling of my bird was very unprofessional. After grooming her they put her on the counter. She was disoriented and almost fell off the counter. Luckily I caught her just in time. Unfortunately, I will have to find another place to get my bird groomed. The nails are still long. They were not filed down after the cut The nails are still sharp. I don't understand why they don't try to keep some of the old customers. Because I will not recommend this place to anyone after my experience.

Visited both of Bill's Birds locations recently; the staff is incredible, providing immaculate attention and outstanding knowledge. I highly recommend reaching out to Bill or Tammy—both are exceptionally knowledgeable and will assist you with everything you need. They offer the best prices in the area for cages, toys, food, and more. It's truly a fantastic place, whether you're getting your first or second bird!

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BIRDS HERE. Buy these birds, give them a good home and get this place shut down. The birds were FREEZING and miserable in the back today I have never seen birds shake like that. I asked the employee why it was so cold and told them the birds were cold but she ignored me. The new guy just has two big birds out on display, didn't even know how the macaw would react if I touched him and still let me do it (i didn't) - why not take precaution at least? These can be dangerous birds with feelings and they're not just props. The bird also looked so badly taken care of. The new owners clearly do not care.

We got our white cockatiel from here, and let me tell you. It's been marvelous. We've had them now for 3 months and they have been excellent. I do not know how he raises them but they are the most friendly, personable birds I've ever seen.

Unfortunately to my surprise I found out Charlie is now retired.Have not been to the store ever since he left.Im pretty sure Charlie is so caring He would not sell out to someone that wasnt caring big hearted and dedicated as he was. I just miss chatting with him,great kind hearted guy.

I don't even know how many years that I have been going here. Charlie is so kind and I haven't even thought of going anywhere else. He handles my bird miraculously. She is really difficult to handle and he does it with ease.

I have been going to Charlie now for almost a decade and our community is SO LUCKY to have someone like him. Charlie helps me with my pet Sun Conure with providing supplies, trimming appointments, and bird advice- it is an absolute blessing to have someone local with his skills.Charlie is very experienced with birds on top of being a purely wholesome, and amazing person. My bird is my baby and I can’t imagine trusting anyone else. Thank you Charlie!

Charlie is the only reputable bird person in all of South Florida. He understands that bird ownership is long-lasting and sometimes even lifetime, so don't mind his concern. He definitely values the birds' lives over petty human interests and he doesn't appear to be in it for the money. The birds sell themselves. See for yourself as you crawl through the cesspool of bird stores that South Florida has to offer. The majority of birds are terrified of human interaction and it's because no one really cares for the animals their selling. Charlie does! I have a total of 13 birds now and not one of them sat on my hand the first day like they do from Birdhouse. Save your money and buy your lifetime partners, here! They live very long, people. Please, keep that in mind.Years later: this isn't Charlie anymore. It's Bill's Birds. He's a real disgusting human who always lies and uses people. He doesn't have a heart for animals and I've known since I've been to his original store during pandemic. Please, be aware of this seller. Anything he has has suffered greatly and is raised I'm poor quality. We must all come together to put an end to despicable practices like his. Charlie has been through so much and I can see why Charlie might not want to do this anymore because what he went through was related to his business but we need people like Charlie as a seller. He actually really gave the birds a life. I wish him well and I wish Bill nothing but karma. He's as fake as the persona he gives off. See for yourself.

Amazing place. Charlie, the man who works here is very kind and very very knowledgeable about birds. Turns out my bird was a male all along, my experience here was amazing and all the birds look so happy. I definitely see myself coming back here often.

Met Charlie when I was looking for a baby Macaw. He LOVES his babies and is very selective with who they go home with. Thank you Charlie for trusting me with Blu. She is amazing. Charlie has even responded to my texts when I was a little worried of doing something wrong like a new mom.

Took my cockatiel here to get his wings clipped and the process couldn’t have been easier. I called the day before and scheduled the appointment, I called to say I would be running a little late and the owner was very nice about it and said it’s fine and to take my time. Once I got there he complimented my bird and reassured us the process would be easy, harmless, and quick. While waiting I took a walk around the place and noticed great prices on all the toys and food available, the birds there are kept very well with clean food and water and they are very happy. While walking I could hear the owner talking quietly and nicely to my bird to calm him down as he was stressed about leaving the house. The process took no more then 10 minutes and my bird was very happy. Great prices! Great service! Great owner! Will definitely come back again and you should too!

I found Charlie by accident and I'm glad I did. I live way over in Reno Nevada. Hard to find any breeders over here. He had 2 baby's just hatch when I contacted him! I immediately put my name on the list. He sent my Green Cheek Conure to me on a an airplane...lol I have almost had my boy for a year now. And I couldn't be happier! I honestly wish I could move there, cause his shop has this that you can't find in this one horse town! Anyways, very happy with Charlie! He's the best!

Please ignore a few of the recent negative reviews for this store. They must not be aware of what happened here recently and what the owner had to go through. One reviewer claims that they are taking advantage of a GoFundMe for a fire. That is completely false. Over 150 birds were stolen from this place! Check the news. That is the store owner's livelihood. I can't imagine the devastation that was felt from that burglary incident. I bought bird food and boarded my bird at this location for a number of years and Charlie was amazing to work with. He loves his birds and I trusted him 100% when he cared for my bird while away from home. It's a great store and a valuable place for any bird owners in south Florida.

The quality of the products, cages and especially the parrots is extremely high. No bugs or dirty food. The parrots are in amazing condition. However, the business constantly closes over half an hour before actual closing time and it is very frustrating considering that 11-5 is working hours for many people. Please stop closing so early because this is the only place that I trust for clean good parrot food.

Charlie (the owner) is a great guy with extensive knowledge! I went in for the first time this week based off his reviews and was impressed. Great selection of toys, cages, and food/treats. Wonderful guy to talk to and pick his brain! Good selection of birds to choose from also! Thanks Charlie, so happy to have someone like you around I can go to!

The vet cut my poor cockatiels nails with the wrong tool and she wouldn’t stop bleeding so I called Bird House and the owner told me to bring her in right away. He fixed her up right in front of me at no charge. We appreciate it so much and will definitely return for all of our bird needs! Thank you!

Need to go back to visit this place with Lola, our African Grey Parrot we got from Charlie about 8 years ago now. She is spoiled rotten, when we were buying our new house we purposely picked out a house that had a comfortable section of the living room that faces the sidewalk so Lola can look out the window at the comings and goings of the world :-) Our vet always comments on how happy and healthy she is and how well-mannered she is compared to other parrots. Charlie hand raised her and spent several hours with my husband and I talking about the care she needed. They are lifelong and I truly hope people who decide to purchase parrots or rescue them understand the time, attention and commitment they take. Charlie made sure we understood that, but we could never have imagined how she would be one of our literal children. She talks and has impeccable manners and eats pretty much whatever we eat (as long as of course it is safe for her). Couldn't be happier 8 years and counting!

We have been going to see Charlie for about 15 years. We have bought several very healthy bird from Charlie. All the birds lived many years as healthy birds. We would take them back for Charlie to trim their beak, toe nails and feathers. We have bought food and cages as well. I have also recommended my friends to buy their birds, cages and food from Charlie.

We made an appointment to come see the new hatchlings and fell in love with a baby Turquoise Green Cheeked Conure. Our overall experience was nothing short of amazing. Charlie is very knowledgeable about the birds he keeps, and you can feel how much he cares about each one of them and their potential new homes. He was very pleasant to speak with as we were there for over an hour getting to know the birds and going over care instructions as he answered all of our questions thoroughly. Knowing that he has denied people the right to buy his birds made me feel like my new baby was coming from a loving home which is important to us. This is not a place that will sell a bird just to turn a profit. We will definitely be coming back for all of our grooming as well, so he will be able to see how Mochi is thriving. We couldn't be happier! We would recommend The Birdhouse to anyone. Thank you Charlie and please extend our thanks to your wife as well, for the new addition to our family!!

The owner Charlie is very friendly and knowledgeable. He grooms and watches my sun conure Mango when I go out of town. I would highly recommend The Birdhouse. Charlie loves birds and has been working with birds his entire life.

I found Charlie on a pet breeder site and did my research and then contacted him about a baby sun conure he had for sale. This has been one of the best experiences I have had finding a reputable breeder. Charlie is a walking book of knowledge when it comes to birds. The birds are not just animals to him! They are his children! He will not sell to or tolerate people that have no clue and disrespect his children or store! His love and hobby of birds became his lifelong work! This was the first time I ever had animal shipped and he was just as worried as I was of the safe arrival of his child. We kept in constant contact from day one right through the shipping process. Once little Maui was home let me tell you how well socialized this little guy was! It didn’t even take him 5 minutes to come out of his travel carrier! He went to all of the members of my house willingly. He ate pellets, seeds, and mango from my hand. I have made a lifelong friend! Charlie you are the best! If you are serious about bringing a feathered family member into your home don’t be afraid to go to Charlie. If it is your first time owning a bird and you show Charlie respect and that you are willing to learn to properly keep a bird and that it owning a bird is a huge responsibility and commitment he will surely match you with a bird that is suited to your lifestyle. Thank you soooo much Charlie! I will be sending you plenty of updates along our journey!

I've been coming here since I was a little girl, and let me tell you, Charlie is literally the only person in town I trust taking care of my bird whether it be a wing and nail clipping or helpful advice on taking better care of my bird. He is knowledgeable, kind, and always there to help. He has unique toys, specialty bird food, and hand fed birds all for great prices! (: I don't know what I would do without him!

The gentleman that was there was extremely nice and helpful…. it was looking for a particular bird a certain way and he had it. I looked everywhere I could not find it. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and if I choose to buy more birds, this is the only place I will go.
