This is a GREAT LOCALLY OWNED hardware and building materials store. The store is ALWAYS clean, neat and well stocked. Their staff is always eager to assist you with your purchases. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. You immediately feel welcomed and appreciated. They have a huge variety of merchandise from Paint to plumbing, electrical, guns and ammo. They even have a small selection of RV supplies for folks that may be traveling through the area. They can also now make coded keys for most vehicles.Stop by and check them out. I noticed the clerk at the register was friendly and helpful to other customers which is what I’ve become used to at Ace Hardware stores. As a matter of fact, he was so chatty with the woman checking out in front of me, that he didn’t mind holding up me and the others in line. it was pretty obvious that he knew her, finally she had to get going and it was my turn to check out. not a word said to me, I was checked out, was not offered a bag for my purchase, I didn’t have a chance to give him my rewards number… Obviously I was not a familiar face in the store so I was treated differently. As I was leaving I heard him greet the person behind me in line. I’m staying at a campground in Old Town, I had a choice of driving to this Ace Hardware in Cross City or driving to the Ace Hardware in Trenton. I selected Cross City, next time I will select Trenton.

It took a while for anyone to come and help me. When I finally got some help, it was okay. I got a sample can of paint, a brush, paint stick and opener. The sample paint was supposed to be free yet I was charged $8.99, and he forgot to add my brush. Won't be going back to this store

We were ignored and sneared at by the cashier. We hadn't been there before but new to the area and was told it was a nice store. So very wrong. Will never shop there and never recommend to anyone. Horrible customer service and worse attitude than walmart. So very disappointed from a small town shop.
