This place is awesome and the work they do to help injured animals is truly amazing. We found a laughing gull on St George island and it's wing was badly broken and drove the 50 miles to get him some help. We showed up and were greeted by a sweet lady gave her the bird (we got from the humane center that provided this organization's number to us to help the bird which they need help with donations)and she took the bird right in and I was worried they would just put him down but nope they will try to fix his wing, rehabilitate him, and is he is able to be set free he will be and if not be will live his days out as a educational animal or live in a sanctuary. She also showed us around and all the animals that were still getting help and told us about them along with other animals that have been saved and all the programs they go to if they are to injured to be released back into the wild, places that have adopted them. They have several pelicans that were brought in that had broken wings that a person broke them while they were still babies in a nest. Which is so sad and upsetting that somebody coulda so such a thing to innocent babies that trust you. This place is any inspiration to see the good that people can help with and the possibilities are limitless instead of just killing an animal due to their injuries. Visit and make a donation like we did it will inspire you and make a difference for the animals. The animals will always be different sense they are getting the help they need.

I have done volunteer work at this location in the past. Miss Chris is Grace with all of the critters that are brought in and cared for them like her children. The awesome part is they release the mammal in the same area that they were brought from. A couple weeks ago I took in a teenage Hawk that was injured. She informed me that he had been hit by a car and had some head trauma but was better and they would be releasing him in the same area send. This made me very happy. I do believe this little fella got tired of us taking photos of him LOL.

We rescued a baby Eastern Gray Squirrel in Apalachicola. We know he's in good hands and will be safely released once mature enough. These are dedicated professionals who live to save, rehabilitate and release Florida Wild mammals. We should all be thankful for their hard work and knowledge. They love what they do!

The creature love is real here! They love what they do and it truly shows. If you need a home for a random wild animal, this is the spot for them. I even took a kitten that showed up in my yard injured up there and they told me what to do and gave me medicine for her. A wonderful woman runs it and she runs it well. They take birds, raccoons, squirrels, foxes, bats, deer, bunnies, possums, armadillos and more

Awesome people, one of our guys rescued a juvenile eagle on 319, that had just been hit by a truck! He was in bad shape, but they are helping him! St. Francis Wildlife gave me their number and they have been keeping us updated on his condition!

I found an abandoned baby bird on the ground. I decided to go there and ask to help him. The lady immediately took the bird and was very nice and caring. I hope he will grow up in good health. Thank you so much for helping him and other animals🙂

The commitment these folks have is unbelievable. The babies need around the clock care if they are to survive. Chris and her family have helped saved the lives of many of our endanger wildlife. Through the years I have taken them baby squirrels, a litter of possums after my dogs killed the Momma and a few wounded buzzards. Chris and I met at the Master Wildlife Course we took at the extension office. Which was a great class, learning just how important our wildlife is to our own existence. Please take time to help them with donations, supplies, or money. Every little bit helps. Thank you, to Chris and her volunteers.

These caregivers are truly passionate about caring for the orphaned and injured animals left in their care. I am truly impressed with everything I saw and experienced while dropping off an orphaned squirrel I rescued in Eastpoint, FL. The staff and volunteers are so knowledgeable and just absolutely amazing.Definitely a place I feel comfortable bringing wildlife to be helped. Thank you FWMA for all that you do🙏🏼

These folks are doing God's work. We recently moved and our cat got out briefly and returned with a baby rabbit The rabbit was definitely in shock but seemingly not injured. Regardless we didn't take any chances and brought him to Florida Wild Mammal Rescue. It was late around 9pm and the young lady came right out and took the rabbit. Please bring cash donations to help out I'd you can. Also if late night it is a little hard to find the building but it is a large house with a patio and step.

Doing great work to rehabilitate wildlife here on the "Forgotten Coast" and Big Bend of Florida. They help much more than just the furry critters, rehabbing pelicans and raptors and pretty much anything that needs help. If you follow them on social media you can see photos of their work (cute baby animals sometimes!), and their fundraisers are "FUN" raisers :).

Volunteered here for a summer and learned so much about conservation of our wildlife and a lot about the diets of animals in Florida. It was a great experience and if anyone is looking for volunteers work or a good experience taking care of animals I would highly recommend. While there are jobs that are less fun, i would trade my experience there for any other. It is run by great people and it is a truly rewarding experience.

This is a FABULOUS PLACE WITH A HUGE HEART!!!! WONDERFUL AND CARING PEOPLE!!!!!We were here 7 years ago with a seagull and they are still in business....with donations only!!!So now my hurt seagull that probably wont be able to fly will still live in a happy atmosphere with others like him. He will still be able to fly down so in the area they have a place they can climb to and then Fly down..water fountain. ..everything!They help rehabilitate the animals and birds back to the wild but if they cant then they will live their life out there. The first time we went they had a vulture living there for life!!! It was so cool to see that they didnt just kill it when it could not fly!Open 24 hrs.....soooo if you see a hurt wild anything....this is the place to take it!!

I love everyone here and all that they do for our wild animals. They dedicate their lives to saving any animal that is hurt, whether it be a racoon, an owl, a deer... It doesn't matter to them what kind of animal it is. These really are some incredible people and I'm so thankful wakulla has people like them. I've been several times and Jessica can tell you every story to every animal there. It's incredible. Thank you fwma for all you do!

What a wonderful place! When I vacation in FL it never fails that I find an animal in need of help. A pelican with a fish hook in its breast, an injured owl, turtle, etc. If it's there I seem to find it and FWMA is my go to place for help. Such caring people doing much needed but probably often heartbreaking work. They have earned my lifelong gratitude and respect. Thank you FWMA for all you do!!
