We used to go to this thrift store all the time, but not anymore. They changed the manager here (a WHILE back), and ever since the prices have gone up and up. Used to be able to get almost all the clothes (minus new with tags or higher end brands) for $1/piece. Everything is so overpriced now. Yes, it's for charity, but a thrift store shouldn't be gouging. The volunteers I've encountered are sweet and kind, but the management has changed and not for the better. We used to donate all our things here instead of having a garage sale; we now go to New Beginnings and donate there. If you want to help their rescues, donate food and other items to their facility, NOT their thrift store.Gave 2 stars because we adopted our dog from there back in 2009 and have taken a couple of lost dogs to them for rescue. But their thrift store is NOT a thrift store anymore; more like a high priced garage sale. There are plenty of other thrift stores in Clermont that are offering better prices while still helping a good cause.

Have always loved this place. I moved to Clermont in 1992 and have loved coming to this thrift ship since we found it way back when. It feels more like a boutique than it does a thrift store as the store is separated into unique spaces. One of the areas is nice high-end items. The staff is always sweet and helpful. We've found many treasures over the years as well as handy household items that kept us from having to run to the big corporate stores. It makes me happy that the money raised from the sale of goods is going to a good cause. Our dog Lily (formally known as Blanche) was adopted from the South Lake Animal Shelter and she is a gift. We recently lost her brother to age and we were happy to know whe could donate his unused and very expensive canned prescription dog food which made me happy. Thanks for all that your Team does. Keep up the great work.Todd

It's kind of ridiculous that this place wants to charge as much or more for a used item as a brand new item. Their prices are outrageous. Whoever is managing this place should be fired as they obviously don't understand how a Thrift Shop is supposed to be run. I donated something to these folks for free and they put it on the shelf for 4x what I paid for it used. When I asked for a discount on an item that was obviously overpriced they said they could not do anything about it even when I tried to show them that it was cheaper new. Absolute ripoff.

There's a modest selection of things to discover here - from books, CDs, old electronics (CD players), clothes (kids, women, men - sorted by size), jewellery, mugs, art, crystals, boardgames, old bags, light bulbs, to flashlights. Overall everything is more or less organized and most things are affordable/well priced - with the exception of clothes being priced on the higher end. They do have a fitting room for trying on clothes, as well as a section for formal wear / designer goods (including dresses, outerwear, a shoe display etc.). I found a cute too large casual dress that I can adjust and a new Cranium boardgame. Most importantly, I love that all proceeds go towards helping animals in need!

Super nice volunteers donating their time to help the dogs and cats. A nice variety of items, even some antiques in the back room and everything is clean- clothes all in great condition. Prices much better than GW.

There is no reason to lie in this review.RACIST LADY. My wife and I went to drop off some items. Alwas dropped them as a walk-in without appointment. We didn't know. When I told her about it, she responded by saying she had been there for two years and that it had never happened. So I'm the liar here.My wife was born and raised in this country. She told my wife she didn't understand her accent (I'm the one with the accent, not her). And no, she wasn't talking to me at that moment. I have always ignored racist comments or situations and never used the race card.As a disable veteran who paid with pain, sweat, and lost part of my mental sanity so she can sleep warm at night, this one hit me.If you're not Caucasian, don't go there. Go to Goodwill or somewhere else.

I love getting to go to places that have a mission behind them. But not sure about this place very rude and over priced. If this is how you present your self it makes me question the quality of compassion and the purpose of your mission. Definitely thumbs down. Won’t be going there again.

Almost always a good selection of stuff like used books, DVD's, and toys.

Stuff is way overpriced. Seems like the owner will respond and say "well it's for a good cause." But fundraisers should be a two way street of value. Otherwise we may as well donate directly.

Pretty great thrifting options here! We were mostly interested in clothing, which is about half of the store as a whole and half of the boutique. Prices for non-boutique clothes were a bit higher than to be expected, more like Goodwill's, which was a little disheartening since clothing is received through donations. Overall, good selection for all the thrifters out there and I recommend checking it out.

Don’t judge a book by its cover should be the name of this rude establishment. I’ve been out running errands all day for my business and dressed in a work out outfit..nothing special but comfortable. I walked in behind a couple dressed well..they got personalized hello’s and smiles and how are yous. I got nothing. I didn’t care until I went to the back boutique section. The couple were waited on w a silver spoon and I was glared at to the point I could tell the older woman was watching me so I wouldn’t steal anything. I never got asked if I needed anything like they did. I felt incredibly uncomfortable. When they went to leave the back section the older woman cheerfully wished them a beautiful day and to come back soon. I got nothing. I even made a point to say have a lovely day and she ignored me and picked up her phone to text. Little do you know I’m an antiques dealer who just moved here and would regularly buy big ticket items if I was just treated right. Just bc I wasn’t dressed to the nines bc I had been running around all day you treated me like I was a beggar. You’ll never see me again!

I used to really enjoy visiting this thrift store and it is a great cause, but the last couple of months have brought some undesirable changes. The back portion of the store is now a grossly overpriced boutique. A lot of prices in the rest of the store have risen also but you might still find some reasonable bargains. It also seems like there are the same items there week after week so the must not be taking new donations or not putting new items out. Their donation hours aren't very convenient anyway and I hear they have become rather picky. All adds up to a shame really for such a great cause. Lower prices might lead to more sales. Taking more donations and putting them out might also improve sales to help our furry friends.

This was a cool little thrift store in the heart of historic downtown Clermont! The shop was clean and they had a wonderful selection of items. The woman working was very nice and helpful. The proceeds go to a great cause. If you’re in the area you should really check it out!

My mom called to make a donation and was told she could come any time, no mention of an appointment. I came to help her drop off and was told we couldn’t because we needed an appointment. I would have happily helped them get our stuff in, so this is a problem of management or the person who denied our donation, not whoever was on the phone. We went down the street to goodwill and not only were they happy to take it, they were excited about how it all looked brand new. Would never donate to this place

I fell in love with this store the moment I walked through the doors. The money goes to help the rescue. They have very nice items to sell, everything was in very good condition, and the prices were amazing. My husband and I left with two giant bags full of stuff for less than $50, I would expect to pay over $100 at goodwill for not as good quality.

I have been shopping in this thrift shop for 25 years! Although Clermont has many resale stores, this is my go-to stop for gently used clothing in like new condition. Most clothing items are priced at only $1 each! Not only is the price right but clothing is well displayed. Racks are not overstuffed and the selection is excellent. In addition to clothing, I have found great buys in hats, shoes, linens, bags, toys, picture frames, cookware and many other items. Good prices. Nice atmosphere. No religious music playing, which is a nice change from the soundtracks at many other thrift shops. It's even open on Sunday (closed Mondays) while the Downtown Clermont Farmers Market is going on.

How does a thrift store decide you are going to raise your prices on books? paperbacks were .25 cents each or for 5 for a dollar, now 1.00 each. hardcovers were 1.00 each , now 3.00 each. What a ripoff. These are used books not new books. Yes your money goes to help dogs but if you want a donation just ask, instead of attracting people as a thrift store but being so high priced. This store is waste of time, If you are looking for a deal don't bother. So I just got a response from something I wrote 10 months ago. I hope you take better care of the animals than the time it took you to respond to this post.

Extremely reasonable prices even after some have been raised. I've seen and heard so many people shopping to resell for higher prices and removing price tags because they want to try to get them for $1. I'd feel terrible making more money off the items I buy here and not putting it back in to the animal league (that's the reason I shop HERE in the first place). There are plenty of other thrift stores to make a buck on. If you're unhappy with the prices you might want to check out The Animal League shelter in Groveland, there will be a lot of happy tails thanking you for the money spent here.

This place is OVERPRICED. Back then the workers were very nice and I think it’s under new management not sure when that NEW someone took over.

The people who work there have always been excellent to us. I have found great deals there and my son loves to look at the toys. It's nice to be able to get him a little surprise that doesn't cost $5 or more. I really enjoy going there.

One of the best thrift shops in the area in terms of quality items, variety and pricing. We never leave disappointed-or empty handed! Plus, the proceeds go to a good cause. South Lake Animal League does so much for the abused/neglected/unhomed animals in this area. We adopted our life-love Bella there when she was a puppy and were so impressed with the entire operation. Many of the same friendly volunteers who man the shelter also man the thrift shop, giving good service in both places. Definitely worth a visit and your support!

There is a very rude, unprofessional lady “working “ there telling people that if you are not going to buy you need to leave. I am very surprised because that never happened before. It seems like this person is new?? I don’t know, but she treats people like animals.

This isn’t a review so much as it is a response to the previously written libel published anonymously by a coward. The new manager went from being part-time to assistant manager within two weeks. She was promoted to manager within another two weeks. She has dedicated and continues to work over 80 hours a week (while fostering rescue dogs) to get the place back on its feet- pouring a good deal of her own money into improvements- and with very little help from the original group of volunteers. But that’s what happens. In order to grow you have to go through stress. You won’t find a more committed, generous human on earth trying to do what the place is intended to do- take the community’s donations and turn them into aid for rescuing animals. It’s my understanding there were volunteers buying goods for next to nothing (on top of an “employee discount”) and reselling them through online marketplaces for their own personal gain. That doesn’t help any animals, and as far as I’m concerned- if that isn’t your main goal then the League is better off without you. Your anonymous lies to try and damage one of the only forms of cost prevention the NON-PROFIT ANIMAL RESCUE has are evidence you care more about yourself than the cause. Good riddance.

Tried calling at 10:05 am and left a message in order to get an appointment to donate some clothing. Tried calling again at 2:27 same result. Not sure about helping animals at this location.
