I went to Tony's expecting to order off of the menu that I saw online. When we stepped inside, we were greeted by their friendly staff, offering us a sample of their chowder, and they told us that their menu was condensed. To be quite honest, I didn't realize that I liked Chowder until I tasted the sample, and boy, oh boy, was I pleasantly surprised. Needless to say, when I return to Ceder Key, I will be visiting Tony's again!

The clam chowder really IS 5 ⭐️s. We drove 3 hours from Kissimmee to Cedar Key and had to stop in. Service was quick on a Thursday at 2:00pm, our waitress was friendly and attentive. My man got the chili dog with cheese and also gave it 5 ⭐️s too. Hush puppies were delicious and so were the fried shrimp. Bummer that it closes at 3pm because I would’ve been back for more super come dinner time!

The best service I have ever received. The servers were amazing, friendly and attentive. Excellent food with great prices. They are well known for there clam chowder. It was well worth the 3 hour drive. We will return.

The NE Clam Chowder is one of the best I've ever had. Party of 4, went on a Thursday for lunch- no wait but was SRO when we left. Streetside parking outside, there's a free lot down the street. I didn't give a 5 for the food bcz I also ordered a salad with blackened fish & the fish was barely warm, the salad wasn't what I expected- there was 1 piece of iceberg that was a bit brown and other types of lettuce that I consider rabbit food! Other people in our party had a burger & fries (just ok), fried fish sandwich (good) with fried okra (very good). Was disappointed they had no fish dip. The restrooms are single person bathrooms which need some TLC. So you have to wait in the hallway if it's in use. Server was friendly. Would recommend the Chowder for sure.

Enjoyed an excellent delicious lunch at Tony's Seafood while visiting Cedar Key. The Clam Chowder is truly amazing and my best recommendation is to visit Tony's and try a bowl yourself! Words can't really adequately describe how delicious Tony's Chowder is.Also enjoyed the Shrimp Roll which was equally amazing.Don't miss Tony's Seafood when in Cedar Key!

So I’ve been coming to Cedar Key to eat at Tony’s 2-3 times a year for the last nine years. I LOVE their clam chowder! For years Tony’s had great service and a full menu in addition to the chowder. All this changed. I recently visited (December 2023) and the ENTIRE menu consisted of clam chowder, side salad, and bread. No hush puppies anymore. At least they went great with the chowder. Beverages? Canned soda. Not even fountain soda. No key lime pie. And the three menu items are ordered and picked up at a window. No table service anymore. I was the only customer in the dining room (significantly reduced seating since I was last there) and nobody came in during the 45 minutes I sat there. Prices went up considerably too. For a large cup of chowder, dry bread, and a can of Coke I paid over $30. This was a horrible business decision and I am clueless as to why they changed it up this way. It wasn’t for the better. I hate having to review Tony’s this way. Up until my last visit they would have received five stars each time. The atmosphere and full menu was my main reason for making a semi annual, 100 mile drive to Cedar Key. Now I will just go to Publix and get a can if I’m in the mood for it.

Stopped here for lunch while we were staying Cedar Key bc of all the rave reviews!! It did not disappoint. Staff was super friendly. Claim Chowder was amazing (I am pretty snobby when it comes to Clam Chowder being from New England). Food was delicious. Highly recommend stopping here for lunch and then heading across the street to the little Coffee Cafe for chocolate covered Key Lime pie on a stick for dessert.

It must be true (the world champion stuff) because this is totally delicious clam chowder. Creamy with enough potatoes and clams to create the perfect consistency. I cannot remember the last time I ordered clam chowder and didn't add some black pepper and/or Tabasco and this needed neither!

Excellent chowder. We are moving around the island sampling a variety of places. We are not "foodies" but know good well balanced, innovative entree's when we experience them. We've had a lot of great food on the little side street establishments of Key West. The bit of spicy heat this chowder has really sets it apart from just being "comfort chowder" imho. Service was right at expectations also. They say Cedar Key is much like Key West 40-50 years ago, while I'm pretty well educated on the history of Key West I wasn't there so I really can't say but take "their" word for it I guess. If so it's been an interesting time travel so far this week.

Really good. It's a must stop if you're in cedar key.. I'm not even really a clam chowder fan, but my wife and I shared a bowl and it was delicious.The shrimp roll was also great and filling. They don't skimp.. Oh and the staff is super friendly. Next time we're in cedar Key we'll be back.

7/2021: Great fish and their famous clam chowder soup! My wife and I ordered the Fish O Filet Lunch Special. The fish tasted really good and the price too. The place was not too big and so you will see people sitting outside waiting to be seated from time to time. You can tell it must be good by that:). Servers were very friendly. Only thing I hope they can do better is to stay open later. Not only good for the tourists but also for their business.. .Update: 7/18/2022. Exactly a year later, we went to eat at the Tony's Restaurant again as we visited Cedar Key. We both ordered the Fish O Filet Lunch Special and cup of clam chowder again. We were surprised to find the Lunch Special price had gone up 40%, from $9.99 to $13.99. The quality of the fish also seems degraded. It seems a different kind of fish compared with the one we had a year ago. The fish was also battered differently, not as good as before. The size of the cup clam chowder was also smaller while its price had gone up $1. In view of the above, I have lowered my ratings from 5 Star in 7/2021 to 3 Star in 7/2022.Photos show the difference of the Fish O Filet: The photo showing the fish thinner (flatter) was 2022, while the thicker fish with tartar sauce on it was taken in 2021.

TONY’S is a regular stop for us. We can’t come to Cedar Key and not get some Clam Chowder. We’ve been up and down Florida and have had wonderful Clam Chowder from Marathon Key to Valdosta Georgia but Tony’s remains the bar that we measure against. It is our favorite. Their fish and shrimp are wonderful and we love the light batter. You have to come here if you visit Cedar Key!
