Beautifully restored. Comfy Flamengo room. Other visitors were friendly too. Never saw any hotel staff.Rooms: The Flamingo Room was on the second floor with a balcony at the end of the hall. We enjoyed the room and time on the balconySafety: Check in direction we're easy to follow and we felt safe there.

We stayed here 3 years ago in October for 2 nights. We enjoyed our stay then and I think we did all there was to do in Carabelle. The hotel was clean. We met Skip the owner then and he is a very nice man. We just booked again and stayed for 3 nights..very cozy..beds very comfortable and room was clean. We brought our bicycles. We met Kelly and Joe and they were very friendly and helpful. Great places to eat Fisherman's wife, Carabelle junction, morning bites. We also visited Taste of Korea and Bubble waffle.

Felt more like a home away from home than a motel/hotel, really appreciated that. We didn't use them, but i liked the idea of the meal voucher system, that you have a choice between a few establishments rather than having to eat whatever the hotel might provide. Nighttime temperatures were perfect and so we had no problem with the lack of control over the thermostat, but if it had been hotter, I do wonder if that would have been an issue. I keep to myself, and the fact that there was no one on location to walk past or interact with while coming and going was more of a positive than a negative -- but then again, we didn't require any assistance. Phone numbers for the owners are displayed prominently, in any case. Really can't think of anything to complain about, I'd definitely consider staying here again.

The Old Carrabelle Hotel was perfect for my daughter and I as we came through town. The room was perfect, the check-in was easy and honestly it was one of the best night's sleep I have had in a while. The shower was hot, the bed was clean and the TV had a ton of channels. Character? Yes! What an amazing find. We couldn't use the breakfast coupon as we had to head out early. We will definitely be back if we ever come through again.

Recently stayed two nights in the suite downstairs. Kathy and Skip were easy to work with and everything was clean and tidy. It’s a quiet and quaint spot! We walked to dinner with live music at Fathoms and also to breakfast in the mornings. A short drive to St George Island where we beaches it all day.

My wife and I usually stay at Hampton Inn across USA, because it’s a known business model with properties having comfortable rooms with great free breakfast. This boutique property, The Old Carrabelle Hotel, measures upto that standard of cleanliness. On top of it, the rooms are cozy, but a bit small though. The bathrooms are actually big and the shower was a delight. More importantly, we could flip a switch and make coffee and tea in the hallway, and relax in a long beautiful front balcony that extends pretty much around the house. That sure beats any Hampton Inn property. This property is several decades old and it’s a big task to maintain it to function that well. Our compliments to the owners. Breakfast was coupon based, and we could order anything we wanted, discounted to $7 each, in a two minute walkable pastry and sandwich shop. We could go anytime of the day with the coupons !To be fair to Hampton Inn properties, we did miss the beautiful lounges and front end hallways they have. But why not enjoy a little piece of heaven by giving those things up?

Stayed here early March 2021. Excellent, really captures the charm of "The Forgotten Coast". Quiet, clean, comfortable. If you're a vintage hotel enthusiast (meaning you're willing to trade some modern conveniences for friendly experiences), this location will check all the boxes. The small historic experience at its best. Beautiful balcony for relaxing. My stay had a few minor complications, which the owner graciously helped me work through. The town of Carrabelle is very laid back and friendly. If you want just a little more, there's Appalachicola and St. George Island just 30 miles away.

These are the pros and cons...decide for yourself. We are staying in the Reggae room tonight. The thermostat in the hall regulates the whole top floor and it is set on 77; a note beside it says do not touch it. The ceiling fan in our room barely turns, and there is only one a/c duct in our room. The bed is very comfortable. A band playing down the street is very noisy. Fortunately, we have a floor fan than drowns it out; the fan is not helping cool down our very hot room. There is no breakfast served at this B&B hotel. We got vouchers for either a breakfast, lunch, or dinner at 3 different restaurants. Our room is larger than we had expected. The bathroom is also larger than implied in its description. A power strip by the bed has 2 cellphone charging ports which is very handy. The B&B is very accessible from US 98. The owners were not on site at anytime during our stay; they left us a letter of instructions in a box outside the front door. We left the key in the door when we left.

Great experience! We were visiting to see the beach and go to that one parrot restaurant. The beds are very comfortable and the decorations are pretty. TV works great, but it may take you a while to figure out the TV remote. It's an older version of Netflix on there but it still works good! We stayed downstairs this time. We didn't get to do the bed and breakfast so I don't have any experience with that.I recommend it! The only problem we had was the shower water was only coming out cold, but we called and he shown us how to fix it. :)

Well, the problem was, lost my key getting out of the car at night and didn't get a call back until 3:30 AM! So it took over 6 hours to get a response from mgmt., and I had to sleep on the couch in the downstairs living room. Fortunately I was told how to obtain a key and get into my room which happened around 4:30 AM. The next morning found the key in the sand. Bottom line, don't accidentally lose or misplace your key, or your might end up locked out of your room most of the night. In addition, I booked 2 nights because the ad stated discount of 20%, never received that even after asking! The one positive were the breakfast vouchers, enjoyed the places I went , especially the golf club.

This place is a GEM and the best part of Carrabelle... Owners have made this place so darling, cozy, and welcoming! Bed in the Hemingway room is quite comfortable, and the bathroom is lovely. My husband and I really enjoyed sitting in the Monkey Bar when we arrived yesterday, and out on the comfy chairs on the balcony last night. There is a very sweet and chatty tabby cat who welcomed us and hung out while we were on the back patio. If ever I come back through Carrabelle, this is absolutely where I want to stay!

This was my 6th {?} stay at The Old Carrabelle. I have never met the owners, maybe one day I will. I absolutely love this place. Its not for everyone and thats why I love it. Its quaint, its old, its eclectic, its fun. Its not new. The owners have done a great job with this place and have done a great job for the years I have been coming here. I will continue to come here. Its now become a special, familiar place to me. I would recommend you stay here, look at all the detail. Imagine all the work and imagination that has been put into this place. You will not be disappointed, unless you just want brand new, no soul, cookie cutter place to sleep. This place is more than the Old Carrabelle Hotel. This place is Carrabelle.Oh by the way. Someone has absconded with the scavenger hunt dollar in the Hemming way room! Wasn't me I looked everywhere! Except under the chest of drawers and the wardrobe. I didn't have any cash on me or I would have replaced it. Maybe its there somewhere. I looked and looked. Maybe the next guest will find it. Thanks for all the memories! I will be back.

Fire trap. Back door exit blocked. Didn't see any smoke alarms. Outside looks good in picture but actually messy and not groomed. Rooms very small. Portable air conditioning in bathroom for whole suite. We had room upstairs. No lift to get things upstairs. Only one hand rail. Not for someone with chronic back pain and broken wrist. Ice bucket full (down stairs) was full when we got there but not refilled until two days later. No adequate info about where to eat or how to get to places of interest. A simple map showing how to get to beaches, the smallest police station, and hole-in-the-wall cool places which we only discovered by driving around a lot. We won't go back. The bed are made up very pretty but who cares, nothing is convenient or handy. Not recommended. Convenience over quaintness any day for us.

It was "ok" but not great. We have stayed at several B&B's throughout north Florida. I would put this one last on our list. For the most part, it was as advertised. Old Florida charm with plenty of character. Good location. Peaceful, Quiet. But ....a little outdated. Could use some plumbing upgrades. And the dust on blinds and bed was very obvious. Sheets needed to be replaced. I think you can still keep the charm and do a little modernizing. One would expect a B&B to be a step above a hotel. The attention is is in the detail.

This is what an Inn should be! I regularly visit Apalachicola and SGI and had a place booked except for one night. A local recommended The Old Carrabelle Inn and I loved it. I am in the Pest industry and do A TON of inspections/treatments. The room etc was very clean and no signs of anything. Especially for the price I could not ask for a better experience. Super clean comfortable and great atmosphere. I will definitely be returning!

We spent three nights here in Feb. 2019. The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. Our room was well equipped, clean, and quiet. The town docks and the few restaurants were within a few minute walk. The town is recovering nicely from Hurricane Michael which occurred a few months ago. We enjoyed our evenings sitting on the second floor veranda.WiFi is a bit weak, but if you are patient it works. All in all, a very nice place and good value.

Stayed without reservation in their Hemingway room. The coowner, Skip, is cordial and lighthearted as you arrange your stay. The establishment is small, the bathroom comprising likely half of the total of the room (quite spacious). The atmosphere of the room and the communal living spaces is adventurous and lively, with tribal masks, African artwork, and old photography from safaris past adorning the walls in the room. As you rest, mosquito netting enshrines the head of the bed. A chimpanzee Butler greets you at the door with a comfortable sitting room just to the left as you enter. As for the stay, the hotel is not a picture of cleanliness. It's not abhorrent by any means. There were some stray hairs in the linens from past tenants, and a layer of dust laid over much of the furniture and fell from the ceiling fans, which we wound up turning off.As far as hotels go, you can easily do far worse. They would do well from more rigorous cleaning, but the experience is worth the price.

Not a lot of options around Carrabelle, but this is a good one. Rooms are reasonable cost - usually around 100/night. Owners, Skip and Kathy are great. It's a large, old home in the heart of downtown. Like a B&B but no breakfast there. However, you get a coupon for a meal ($7 value per person) good at several local restaurants. It's where we always stay in Carrabelle.

We stayed in The Flamingo room, which we were able to reserve on short notice that morning. We stayed 2 nights, which included 2 vouchers for breakfast at our choice of 5 nearby restaurants. There are 4 guest rooms upstairs and a door that leads to a balcony that wraps 2 sides of the hotel. Although there isn't much of a view from the hotel balcony, you can see part of the bay. Very peaceful and quiet.

What a treat. This place was just lovely. Clean, comfortable, cosy and the nicest fellow guests. Perfect for a quiet get a way. Nice outdoor spaces too and such a cute town with great seafood. We had captains quarters with a private bath. Highly recommend!

My first time in carabella... Found this bed and breakfast...very nice and friendly owners. Such an amazing place. So much history and beauty of this home...I had the regatta room... I will definitely be back. And would love to get the opportunity to stay in the other 3 rooms...

Amazing little getaway just the right distance away from Tallahassee. Nestled on a quiet street just a block away from the waterfront. A few good to great restaurants nearby and a nice live music scene if you are there at the right time! Owners care and pay attention to details. Not fancy, but cozy, like going to a family member's home. Been coming here for years on and off and never have had anything less than a great time .

Unbelievably bad experience. Arrived at the hotel at 10:30 p.m., envelope in mailbox with NO room key, said to call the hotel, nobody answered, after several attempts, I was forced to stay elsewhere (moorings of carrabelle-which was very nice) and the hotel refused a refund. They charged me for a room I could not access and were incredibly rude after the fact. In its response, the owner claims to not have had a guest by my name, they know exactly who this is and what they did, terrible. Rather then making this right, the owner chooses to belittle me in its response

Just wanted to tell Skip how much we enjoyed our trip to your B & B. The living room downstairs gave us a nice place to gather with our siblings in the evening. Your hospitality was very much appreciated. It was our second trip and the others first. They enjoyed having a low key place to get together and relax. It is nice to see an area that is still "old Florida". We continually tell our friends that there is a nice place to go on the "big bend". Thanks again.Dr. and Mrs. Cecil Clontz
