Captiva is beautiful and the weather amazing.The rental unit Sunset Captiva #19 a huge disappointment. Dates February10-17, 2024There were numerous cocoons with black worms in the enclosed porch area.It was 3 days after check in before they sent some one to remove cocoons.Of course the outside windows and home was covered in numerous cocoons. This was not addressed.The master bedroom has new mattress, no mattress cover. Second bedroom bedskirt soiled. This was reported but remained the entire week.Closet door not attached. Bed frames not connected.I was told it was due to new carpet install.They did deliver tea kettle, kitchen towels because these items were missing.Been coming to Sanibel Captiva 2O years. Never had such a disappointing experience. Actually unacceptable in many ways. Vacation is a special event and too much time was spent trying to get assistance.Hopefully this review will motivate owners to take better care of their home..

YesI stayed....in Captiva Florida....the folks at Sanibel Captiva Island vacations are awesome they are so helpful and they're always there for you and Michael is super duper. I painted a mural for the RC Otter restaurant which should be open by now and that's a lot of fun ...the mural is for families to put their faces through the holes and take pictures and send their pictures to all their loved ones. Yes, also there is the Captiva Cantina which is fine Mexican food. An awesome thing to do is to rent one of the golf carts for the week you can go back and forth to the beach take a little ride around because it gets hot in the afternoon and it's fun in the evening you know wiz around the area it's so beautiful there.Just so enjoyable that I love it my favorite places in the world. Some of the golf carts are Street cart so you can actually travel down the way towards the Sanibel if you want. It is a win-win Captiva getaway just for everybody including couples and families the whole caboodle is the best!!! ALWAYS ...

The property was peaceful and secluded! Everything was clean and well furnished. We really enjoyed the heated pool and access to the beach. This was our first time doing a “rental” vacation and will be doing this again. Absolutely fabulous!

We rented a house from SCIVR for our recent trip to Captiva. It was perfect for the two of us, nicely updated and decorated. Everything we needed was there including beach towels, chairs, and an umbrella. Those were things we didn’t have to bring taking up space in the car. We enjoyed using the pool, dock, screen porch and other amenities. The rental company was responsive and friendly. The photos are accurate. I would highly recommend you using them for your next trip. We hope we can stay here again in the future.

Sanibel Captiva Island Vacations earned this rating. The communication before our trip was outstanding. We had a significant issue after arriving on the island but the employees went over and beyond to help us. They worked at solving our problem and even helped us move. My elderly mom was worn out after the trip down and it was so helpful to me that they were willing to pitch in. I would highly recommend Sanibel Captiva Island Vacations.

We took a girls trip to Captiva at the end of April and stayed at the Celebration House Villa. Overall we had a wonderful stay and the Villa floor is gorgeous and spacious. I would definitely go with Sanibel Captiva Island Vacations again (I already want to come back!)Pros: Great location to beach, Mucky Duck, Boops, and the Island Store (and Bubble Room, Key Lime Cafe and RC Otters once reopened). The rental was very spacious from bedrooms to common spaces. Check-in was easy and the passes to Tween Waters were awesome! Communication with the mgmt company was excellent (although the original info between text and emails was so much/repetitive, we missed the “one” that had info regarding Wi-Fi and small details…but better to be overly communicated with than under!) Any questions we asked via text when we started were promptly answered.Beds were comfy, all necessary starter products were provided, and all utensils/plates/kitchenware was available for meals. In addition, the use of beach chairs and a cart was appreciated!Cons: While there were no real cons of our stay, a few items of note for picky travelers. The floor is the second unit and there is one above you. The people upstairs wore shoes on the tile at 6 am and it definitely woke us up. Not a big deal bc hey, time to hit the beach, just know it’s possible.2. Decor is dated in several areas. We are really there for the beach and outside, but maybe this matters to some.3. Pool. It gets cleaned once per week I think. There is a lot of foliage around the grounds and it lands in the pool and stuff turns mucky looking until it’s cleaned (we didn’t see a net or something to do it ourselves) Again, not there for the pool and deal with it, but just know in case you are expecting “resort” clean everyday.

We had a fantastic experience with San-Cap Island Vacations. The communication from start to finish was superb — very well timed, thorough and helpful. Keyless entry without having to make an extra stop at the office made things very convenient. Our condo at Compass Point 102 was awesome. Fit our group of five perfectly — very clean and comfortable, great location, nicely decorated, well furnished and with a beautiful view of and easy access to the beach and Gulf. Best place to collect shells! Also we a very nice pool!! Highly recommend both San-Cap Island Vacations and this particular unit!!

We stayed at Sunset Captiva Bayside 103. It was beautiful, clean, quiet. We love Captiva and really enjoyed our stay at this condo. It had everything we needed, a nice arrangement, and gorgeous view of the bay with dolphins and manatee swimming by every morning. Sanibel Captiva Island vacation rental agency was great and easy to work with. Good communication, friendly. We didn’t have any concerns or needs during our week there but they send emails and texts to check in and always be available for any needs. Looking forward to staying here and working with this agency again!

Amazing service and attention to detail. Our condo was missing beach chairs and an umbrella when we arrived and their team immediately went out and purchased brand new chairs and an umbrella and delivered them right away. They checked in with us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. Can’t say enough great things about Sanibel Captiva Island Vacation Rentals. Hideaway condo was beautiful, great location and comfortable. Amazing views from the lanai. And easy to walk to all our favorite Captiva spots. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

The condo was nice. It had everything that we needed. There are some issues that need to be dealt with , some ASAP.1. The sliding door is coming out of its frame in the far left corner in the living room. Enough that you can see the gap and hear wind.2. The outlet in the same location is loose from the wall. It would not be safe with small children.3. There is also a loose outlet in the guest room with bunk beds, again a hazard.4. Instructions left behind to work TV.5. Master bath needs finish being remodeled with new curtain rod and towel rack.6. I would also recommend that the owners clean out the beach storage area. Several things need to be thrown out.We enjoyed our stay very much and would rent again from this company.

Cannot say how amazing this place was! The service from the office was amazing. Our son has celiacs and they gave us some gluten free restaurants ❤️. They were very easy to contact and just overall so nice! The beach is so close to the condo. We were able to walk no problem. There were floats, an umbrella, and a cooler at our condo. Will definitely be booking through them over airBNB next time. They’re amazing!

My kids and I just came back last night after staying there for a week. My kids are 16,16,11,11. We absolutely loved it. We stayed at South Seas villa 2111. The location was perfect. It took us a while to find the unit because the complex is enormous. Just know that it is less than a quarter of a mile from the gate entrance and it is on your left. Look for a white sign at the beginning of the driveway that says “Beach Villas 2000-2100”.The view is gorgeous and the beach is literally right there. You walk a minute or 2 and you are on the beach. The inside is so pretty and it had all the basic amenities. Very clean. The only cons were….1) the mattress for the pull out couch was super uncomfortable. My 11 year old boys couldn’t sleep on it and they can sleep anywhere. One ended up sleeping on the floor and the other on the couch itself (without pulling it out into a bed). I also arranged chairs next to the love seat to make a bed….their head was on the love seat and the chairs kind of formed into a bench in a way so they can lay their legs across it. It had all the proper amenities. 2) wish there was a washer/dryer in the unit but there is not. It is on the bottom floor and it is for the whole building. It is $2 in quarters to wash one load and another $2 in quarters to dry them. You can go to the main office and get quarters there. The washer leaks all over the floor FYI and the dryer doesn’t dry. That is not the units fault…it’s something that South Seas needs to repair. But because you only get so many towels and you go through a lot especially us with 5 people, you are forced to do laundry if you want clean towels. 3) Dishwasher wasn’t doing a good job at all washing the dishes. When we opened it after doing a load, glasses still had sand on them. Again, that’s just something that has to be looked at and replaced.I would def stayed here again if it wasn’t for the laundry issue. With 4 kids and no one to clean the unit each day and refresh towels; I need a placewith a washer and dryer inside.

This was the perfect location with all the amenities needed for a beach vacation. Close proximity to the pool and beach made our daily walks on the beach easily accessible. The absolute best part about our stay was the wildlife. We saw ospreys nesting, manatees hanging out by the docks, dolphins swimming by, iguanas sunbathing, and so many birds. The house itself was beautiful, comfortable, and clean. It was slightly odd that almost all of the cabinets in the kitchen were locked — especially because the host specifically instructs you to not leave food on the counters because it may attract ants, but there’s not really any other option since all the cabinets were locked. Also, we had to buy some things that you would expect would already be provided in an airbnb — for example, there was no salt and pepper or decks of cards. Regardless, we had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the White Ibis, and we would be delighted to return!

We stayed at Pointe de Santo unit E37. The unit is well decorated with a new kitchen and an amazing view of the ocean. The complex is one of the few on the island with a hot tub, which was a fun place to meet other guests. There is also a heated pool with two hours set aside for adult swim. The property is beautiful and well-maintained. The unit needed deep cleaning (cobwebs in the windowsills, dirt on the air vents and dirty windows) but the bathrooms and kitchen were fine. I assume this was because the unit had not been rented recently. The beach furniture was wet and sandy but the resort provides plenty of chairs so we did not need it. Because the complex was undergoing remodeling there were workmen drilling on our roof and in our stairwell for the entire two weeks of our stay, which was quite noisy. The rental agency gave us a 7% discount because of this. We would like to come back in the future once the construction is finished!

Great location. Great room. Fantastic view. Short walk to the beach, sinve we were right on the beach. Very reasonable pricing. A small vacation spot not over ran by tourists so it was very comfortable, and overall a captivating experience. Everything was set up better than most places for you through VRBO. (It wasn't you had to bring everything you needed for the stay, most was provided to make it convenient) Seriously now one of my favorite places to vacation. Check ins and check outs were also easy. LOVE LOVE LOVE EVERYTHING about this experience, the quality of the room and furniture. My favorite was the huge screened in balcony porch over looking the ocean. The doors even opened up all the way across this huge porch.

We stayed in the Roosevelt Cottage June 4-11, 2022. We were there with my parents celebrating 55 years of marriage. The biggest disappointment is that this company did not care to rectify the situations discussed below or even compensate us for a subpar home. When the sewage smell was mentioned they just said “ok”. With the ants they said “that’s how it is in this environment.” My response is “then why don’t you have traps out?” They do now because I bought some.My parents were in one of the cottages and in the cottage there were ants everywhere so we had to spray leaving the cottage uninhabitable for one evening.The worst part of the house is the beautiful pool in the front yard that you cannot use due to the sewer smell. I contacted the agency and they had the caretaker speak to us. Initially he said the septic system would be cleaned out on the following Monday when no one showed up to clean it out we asked again when it would be taken care of. He then told us that it was just how it was and there was nothing he could do. Therefore we were unable to use the pool because the smell was so strong. My parents had a tough time walking on the beach so our time together was affected. The reason we chose this house was the pool. What a disappointment.We also needed sheets for an air mattress and the hodge podge of linens made it difficult to put a full bed together.A few other notes. My dad was sitting in one of the kitchen chairs and a lower rung broke. He is an average size 78 year old male. Air mattress had a hole and pumps were not complete to inflate the mattress.All in all we enjoyed our family but this location needs some help. Expensive yet disappointing stay.

I stayed at Blue Haven for six weeks. Great location but poor property management. There was a crack in the sky light causing the home to smell like swamp. The company came out to fix it and proceeded to duck tape the issue. The smell ended up coming back towards the end of the trip and the management company simply stopped replying to me.

We just returned home from a stay at South Seas Beach Villa 2428. We were extremely disappointed by the conditions of the unit. It should be noted that the unit is FILTHY AND TIRED…FILTHY rugs throughout, old and bottomed out mattresses, a couch that you don’t want to touch with bare skin, pictures missing from the walls, and old pillows that are flat as pancakes, and black mold in the windows and windowsills. The internet is non-existent. You cannot work or stream any sort of video or tv from the unit as it operates at 12 Mbps. As a short term rental owner, I am fully aware of the attention to detail that 5 star reviews require and the owners of this unit should be pleased to get 2 stars. As a rental company, it is your job to communicate to the owners the need to replace big ticket items and small items often, especially in a market like this with constant turnover. While our experience with Sanibel Captiva Island Vacations was limited, and our only interaction was to pick up keys, we were shocked to encounter the cleaning crew at 8.50am as we returned from getting coffee and they were in the unit…NOTE check out time was 10am. Again, as a property owner that manages our own short term rental and has only 5 star reviews, sending a cleaning crew more than an hour early and having them enter an occupied unit is completely unprofessional unless you have permission from the occupants. Thankfully our bags were already packed and we were ready to go. Overall, our issues were with the disgusting conditions of the unit and not the service of San Cap.

We stayed at the Serenity house on Wightman Road. I can’t say anything but Awesome! We spent a week here and enjoyed every minute. You just can’t get any better location to the beach and all the restaurants. The house was amazing with the screened in pool and the spacious interior. I would highly recommend this house.

There are too many other properties. You may want to pass on this one—Santiva Splendor. Maintenance issues are the main concern. None of them major, but they add up when the market is so competitive and detract from relaxing. However, the location is great, the master bed was comfortable, and the sunroom has a nice view of tropical plants. So if you are not detail oriented, you may enjoy your stay. Rental company was responsive, however, too many issues. See a few—cobwebs, needs new paint, corroded faucet.

Loved the location! Watched the sunrise in the morning... walked to beach and to restaurants.The unit was beautiful and very clean. The caretakers Clyde and Rose were terrific! Only thing needing attention are the sinks in the bathrooms... all the drains are very slow and one of the faucets in the master bath was in need of replacement. Unit 2B

We stayed at the Baywatch Casa and my parents rented the Baywatch Cabin on the same property to be close to their grandchildren. Our house was meh. Needed be updated. Dangerous railings. Broken outdoor umbrella. Lots of ants despite us constantly cleaning. Overall it was fine but we will not return.My biggest issue is with the Baywatch Cabin where my parents stayed. It smelled like a rotting wet dog and when we brought it to the property managements attention they sent over a humidifier. Everyone knows Florida is humid but it would take a bulldozer to correct this smell and the humidifier actually made things worse. My parents are older and the festering smells made them dizzy and sick. They ended up having to leave and book a room elsewhere. So much for being near their grandkids!The property management blamed the owner for not being able to reimburse my parents and charged them a whole weeks cleaning fee even though they were there for two days.We won’t be renting from this company again. We will tell our friends to avoid this property as well. There are much better well managed properties in Captiva it’s not worth the trouble to work with this company.

We had a WONDERFUL week at Hakuna Matata! The house is the best stocked rental we have ever stayed in. They have anticipated your every need and given starters of coffee and household items. The kayaks were amazing and while exploring on them we saw both manatees and had a dolphin swim right up to us. The bikes were an added bonus and the kids loved to ride down to the general store for goodies as well as to the bridge to watch the fishermen and throw a line in. There was not a single thing we would have changed.

When we checked in all of the windows were open in the room. I found this quite odd, but then it became apparent that the air smelt musty and not pleasant, reminded me of a nursing home. The pictures did accurately show how the property looked however, it lacked to show the hairs I found in the sheets, toothbrush left in a bathroom, or hygiene products found beside the bed. This is not acceptable at any time and is especially not acceptable during the middle of a pandemic when cleanliness is not an option but a requirement. In addition to that it was also frustrating to know they were not very accommodating and, after all of the money we spent, no paper towels or dish soap were provided. Used crayons and a coloring sheet was also found in the room on the top of a dresser. Not as big of a deal but cleaning the unit means cleaning the whole entire unit, not just the high spots. Overall terrible services and not clean. I would not recommend
