Very memorable atmosphere with signed dollar bills coating the walls. Nice outdoor seating with floor fans. Classic Mexican food done really well! A charming stop that adds some fun to the Captiva experience!

LITERALLY BUILT WITH MONEY!! This is a fun place. Kids loved the money stapled all over the walls and it gave some fun to try to find the oldest bills or call the numbers written on them (just kidding). The food was very good. It’s a pretty simple menu that satisfies any Mexican food desire. Margaritas were good also. Service was excellent. Not always rob be expected at a simple Mexican restaurant but here it was great. Good parking at the shop parking lot next door. This is a high recommendation when in captiva.

Really nice atmosphere, food was amazing! Service was pretty quick for them being super packed! Definitely ty their queso and guacamole both are super fresh! Their pico de gallo was really good and fresh as well! My friend got the shrimp fajitas, her friend go the chili relleno and I got chicken fajitas. Each dish was really, really good! They have dollar bills covering the walls and ceilings! Pretty cool spot to eat at if you’re on Captiva and craving Mexican food!

This is a nice, traditional, Mexican restaurant with a flair. There are thousands of $1 bills stapled to the entire inside of the place. I liked the food and there was a full menu. Try it, you'll like it.Features: It's Florida, no restrictions.

Here with the family for lunch. We were the first people on when they opened. Staff is friendly and service was great (again - we were the only people there). Chips weren't what I normally would expect at a Mexican restaurant. Something different about the texture. Salsa was okay. Guacamole and queso were pretty good. I got the stuffed pepper and it was good. My son the wer burrito and he like it. My wife(vegetarian) didn't care for what she got compared to other meals at Mexican restaurants.

Awesome atmosphere! Dollar bills stapled everywhere, I mean all over! Easily over 50k stapled the the inside and outside of the building. Good eats here, good drinks! Very tasty food served quickly. Cheers to the staff very inviting. They provide colored pend and a staple gun so you can write a message or color a dollar and staple it. A cool place to go and eat if you want to try something different. Mexican food.

The food was pretty good but the service was not. It took 20 minutes to have a server stop by our table after we were seated. We asked for a second round of drinks but they never came.

Yummy chips and salsa! Everything we ordered was well accepted - steak tacos, Diablo shrimp, chicken fajitas, beef enchilada, chicken & steak quesadillas. Rice was bland. The dollar bills on the wall were cool to look at. The staff were all GREAT and we would definitely go back!

Nice place! Kids loved it because it is literally built with dollar bills. Went there after going to the beach and had some delicious enchiladas, burritos and chicken fingers with fries. The fries are super delicious as well as the cheese dip. Very affordable.

Excellent Mexican food served on a relaxing patio. The food was so good, we went back a few days later for more! The guacamole with homemade tortilla chips and shrimp tacos were the favorites.

The interior of the Cantina Captiva was more memorable than the food I’m afraid. Prices were fair but the food was uninspired.I get the dollar bill thing on the walls but at a certain point it actually started to gross us out a little bit as there is an absurd amount of dust and residue that collects on all of those bills. Maybe time to find a new tradition or take them down once a year?

Have come here for lunch over the years several times and I must say I consider it a great find amidst the chain restaurants and greasy bar food. Authentic fresh food and a bit on the quirky side. You cannot help but to have your attention captured as you look at the $$ stapled to every square inch of visible wall and ceiling space. Waiter was attentive and service was quick. On the down side, they do not have a liquor license so minimal options, decided on a margarita, it was decent. My dining companion reported, upon returning from the men’s room, there was no soap 😫 that alarmed me and leaves me so curious how this could ever happen..

Cantina of our hearts! The place we visited a year ago and went there again for lunch on our one year anniversary. Loved the burritos, the pitcher of Margaritas but also the amazing music from the guitar virtuoso. And it was Cinco de Mayo!!! Can't wait to visit again!! Muchos Gracias amigos!!

If you are on Captiva and you are looking for some nice mexican Food, go to Cantina Captiva. Good mexican food in a very special surrounding. The walls and ceiling are covered with one Dollar notes. Hopefully it is not the tip for the emoloyees 😉

This restaurant was very unique given their location on Captiva! The waiter was very friendly and checked on us frequently. The salsa was excellent! Probably the best salsa I have ever had! The Queso was great too! The food was the average Mexican food.

A great Mexican restaurant on Captiva Drive. The price is right and our food was soooo delicious! I had the steak fajita and my kids had quesadillas. The best fajita I've had by far! Very ftiendly staff and the whole place is cool and fun, all the walls and ceiling are covered with dollar bills that people put up. Fun and a must visit!
