***Amazing Vet*** I had a beloved vet that I trusted w/ my life and my dog Cooper. Due to miscommunication & incompetent office staff and the Dr. not owning up to it when he finally called me back, my baby suffered needlessly for 6 hrs. I was so angry and desperate I called Ocean Animal Hospital in absolute hysterics asking for help as my dog had to be put down immediately. Without question they got me throught it. I drove there not knowing anyone and together what needed to be done, was done. It was the most painful, gut wrenching experience that I don’t know how I will get over but they handled it with such class and professionalism and care that I could never thank them enough. The doctor, the whole staff, everyone was so amazing. They came to my rescue in my darkest hour. It was so peaceful and they gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye and were incredible with us and our grief.Everything was handled amazing, even picking up his ashes and all the care. Someday when my heart can bare it I will get another dog and will never use anyone else. Thank you so much Dr. Gabe and staff. I wish I never had to meet you but from the bottom of my heart when I had to, I am thankful you were there for me & my family. ❤️💔❤️ RIP~Cooper 2009-2024

Greatest vet ever! The office is beautiful and clean, always fast in and out for appointments. *most importantly* when looking for a vet, you want someone who actually cares for your animals. There is no doubt in my mind this is the place- they are kind, gentle, patient..all of the good things. Thank you for caring for my little guys like they are your own. We appreciate it more than you all know!

Both of my dogs have always gotten excellent care. Yesterday my one dog had to have some teeth removed. He is 17 years old. They took extra care to give him plenty of fluids and kept him under anesthesia as little as possible. I will be glad to see the two of my dogs interact again.

We came across Ocean Animal hospital after Dr Jorge in Merritt Island very flippantly said my cat had a lump in him and immediately needed surgery. I really didn't get a great vibe with Dr Jorge and actually felt like my cat may of been in danger if I let an older man try the operation. I had that really bad gut feeling. I told my fiance we'd try somewhere else.When we came to Ocean Animal hospital, Dr Gabe earned our immediate trust as a really passionate vet who actually cared about the outcome of my cat, spent more time with him, and whatnot. My fiance and I were kinda a mess about the whole ordeal. The surgery day went really fast and he was back on the same day. Our cat healed nicely and was playing, eating, lizard watching, all that good cat stuff.The surgery was a 100% success, as in, the entire mass was able to come out. Though we couldn't really relax until we saw a pet cancer doctor, who said the results weren't really that clear (note: this is not Dr Gabe's responsibility/any fault of his.)Though because of Dr Gabe's dexterity, he flung that nasty lump right out like no problem. One year later, our cat is still lump-free and extremely happy and handsome.Dark Star was a Cape Canaveral street cat who came up to me one night when I was getting off work from the space center. He came into my life like a shooting star by chance. He's a creative, funny, caring soul who stops my fiance and I when we argue, loves belly rubs, sleeps at my feet every night like such a good boy, and is a genuine addition to my being every day.I got the vibe that Dr Gabe got our story without even hearing it. He cared about us. Dr Jorge in Merritt Island didn't really care or want to see it.Don't hesitate to call Ocean Animal hospital if you don't have a good feeling about your current vet. Don't let other vets make you feel like they are your only option.Call Gabe if you need someone to trust and take care of your fuzzy family member.

Amazing staff and facility! We have had multiple bad experiences with other local veterinary hospitals/clinics in Brevard County. So happy a friend told us about Dr. Gabe! He is so down to earth and listens to your concerns. I never felt rushed and I loved seeing Mittens name on a welcome board. This place feels like family! Our cats finally have a vet we can trust!

My experience with Ocean Animal Hospital has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. After my dog suffered a laceration under his that were stitched by emergency vet clinic. we sought help from ocean animal clinic due to chronic bleeding. Despite our initial hope for a solution, our experience only worsened with each visit.Upon our first visit, the staff suggested giving my dog anesthesia to investigate the issue further. After the procedure, they claimed the old stitches were coming out and recommended stitching him again, assuring us that this would resolve the bleeding. However, despite their confidence and promises, the bleeding persisted.Not only did the second round of stitches fail to solve the problem, but it also caused my dog immense pain and anxiety, evident by his incessant whining and crying for days afterward. Despite our concerns, subsequent calls to the clinic were met with dismissive responses, and no effective solutions were offered.What's more concerning is their apparent focus on generating more revenue, as evidenced by their suggestion for hip check-ups while completely neglecting to address the ongoing bleeding issue. It's incredibly frustrating that we paid $1200 for a procedure that yielded no results and only caused further distress to our pet.Furthermore, the lack of accountability and follow-through on their promises is deeply concerning. Instead of acknowledging their incompetence and offering compensation or alternative solutions, they continue to push for unnecessary procedures, seemingly oblivious to the suffering they're causing to both the pet and the owners.In conclusion, my experience with Ocean Animal Hospital has been nothing short of disappointing and disheartening. I would strongly advise against seeking their services, as their priority seems to be profit rather than the well-being of the animals in their care.

TW: pet death. I started bringing my older pup to see Dr. Gabe and his staff after some skin issues arose. The team is so kind and works hard to make sure that your pet is getting the care they deserve. Dr Gabe was able to set us up on medication that not only helped her skin issue but elevated her quality of life for several months. It’s always a hard time when you have to make the decision to let your older pet go… Dr Gabe and his team were compassionate and so incredibly kind helping me and coaching through this process. During our last visit together the staff made sure to provide a calming environment and allowed me to take my time saying goodbye. Even when I came back to the office to pick up her ashes, I was met with nothing but kindness. As much as I wish no one else would ever have to experience a great loss like mine, it is part of having a pet and the best gift you can give them in the end. I hope that when it comes time for others, that they have a vet like Dr Gabe.

I love this animal hospital. They are kind and seem to care about each animal. It's a bit pricey though. But I'm still going back. I'd rather come to a clean and loving expensive place than....a cheap bad place.

Dr. Gabriel is a wonderful person who takes good care of our fur babies. He even cried when we had to put our Angel down. Now he is taking the steps to help our baby Samantha. I think ocean animal hospital is the best kept secret in Brevard County. I have two intimidating German Shepherds that have allergies and the staff there is always anxious to help me get appointments on a moment's notice and Dr Gabe is great, if you need a vet don't pass this place up.

Dr Gabe Young is amazing. He truly cares about my dog and cats. He also doesn't push procedures, just give us options. My dog gets so excited when she see Dr Gabe. I also love that they sell Inukshuk, a great dog food from Canada. Since I feed my dog Carna4, another excellent dog food from Canada, this was a good sign that the Doctor knows about good quality food. This animal hospital is the best around, hands down.

My German Shepard was in her last week of life, so we went to Ocean Animal Hospital for an exam. Even though Dr. Young knew she could not breath, eat or walk anymore, he went ahead and prescribed 8 different medication x 3 times a day (plus 2 shots). The total bill was $400 and I was overwhelmed trying to give her this many pills when she couldn't even breath or eat. I can't believe that he would put anyone thru this just to make extra money. My best friend had to be put down 2 days later because she just couldn't breath. I do believe that Dr. Young knew this and I don't recommend this Animal Hospital as they are only concerned about making money and not about you or your pet.

We used to move around a lot due to work so we’ve been to a lot of different vets. We settled in Cape Canaveral a couple of years ago and started seeing Dr. Young as our vet. He is one of the best vets we’ve been to in a long time. He does a very thorough interview and physical assessment. We can tell he really wants the best for your dog! Our dogs love him. The whole staff is very kind as well!

Christmas Miracle - On day after Christmas my support cat "Baby" was accidentally let outside. She was hit by a car gone for three days, I found her crying at back door. Rushed her to nearest hospital where I met Dr Young and staff for first time. He (they) immediately started treating Baby, informing me to brace for the worse with possible internal bleeding. The staff kept her overnight treating her with many different procedures and IV fluids. The next morning Dr Young called with news of great news and satisfactory results. He tells me Baby can go home after observation for rest of the day. After loosing my PTSD dog recently, I initially was heart broken seeing Baby bleeding and barely moving. I am so glad I took her to Dr Young. His first reaction was to stay positive and let him try to save her. Seems many DMVs I have know would have suggested a cremation. Dr Young and his staff truly gave me the best present I have ever had. Thanks!!
