The people who work here are so loving to the animals they care for. You can tell that they spend time getting to know each pet. Which helps a lot when trying to properly place them into new homes so that they don't come back.

Came here to adopt a cat and I was happy to see that there were at least 8 cats there that I could choose from. I got a lot of time to look and take the cats out to play with them. I ended up picking this sweetheart Pansy (changed her name to Lacy). I had to wait a few days for her to get neutered but thankfully they gave me a call a day early to let me know that she's already spade and I could pick her up anytime. She was $40 and the adoption process was fast and straight forward

I was in a desperate situation and an angel named Brandy answered the phone. The shelter was full like all others but she must have heard the panic in my voice and said "Well, hold on, what's the situation?" She gave me resources that led to the ideal solution. I was not expecting the most empathy and care to come from this call of all the calls I made that day. Thank you Brandy.

Ok, but I didn't go to the LCAS. I went to the dump. It was nice no real waiting and included in taxes better than paying Sanford & son to not pick up my trash. Didn't change. Got two dogs from there 20 years ago, Cheech & Chong loved them.

I would totally volunteer here to help with the animals but I would be sad and probably cry everyday just being around the animals not being in loving homes. But I know for a fact this place and the people who do work here are amazing and go beyond for the animals and people that need help!

I want to thank Crystal and Amy who showed me nothing but kindness in a very emotional time for me. We had a cat that was dumped on our property, she was expecting. I couldn't turn her away... We gave her a safe place to have her kittens and thought we could find homes for them. Unfortunately we couldn't. After 7wks I could not take care of them, I'm not the healthiest old lady on the block, and because of this I reached out to Levy County Animal Services for help. Amy came out and picked up Mama and her 4 kittens. It killed me. I cried all day and all night.I called at 8:00am the next morning to check on them. This is where it gets interesting ... In one day this organization found an adoptive parent for one kitten and a rescue agency will take Mama and her 3 babies. This is Williston and Levy County at it's best. Thank you so much for what you do and the kindness you showed a Mama kitty, her babies and an old lady.

The employees are helpful and friendly. We borrowed cages to capture and have feral cats that constantly roam the neighborhood, and our yard fixed. This is a wonderful service. I wish more people took advantage of it for the animals sake.

Found a dog running wild on our street. Very friendly but couldn't find the owner. Decided she would be better off with the county. They were very friendly, welcoming and great with the dog. They made me feel very comfortable leaving her.

I just called about two dogs on short chains. And called this office. This is the second call to Levy county animal control, about these dogs. They are right off of 27. You can see that from the road. Chained to a tree stump. Hundreds of people must drive by these dogs.. I was told I needed to fill out the form via email so that the offender could know in court who is accusing him. Tell me how that would work if a dog was being beaten to death? Would I have to get an email and fill out a form? I never heard such ridiculousness from a public office in my life. It’s a good thing I don’t live in that county because I would hate to pay taxes to such incompetence. The poor animals don’t stand a chance.

Came here to look at what they had for dogs available for adoption. Was very surprised that they had so many. The dogs seemed well cared for, and the kennels were clean. We found a young 2 year old mixed breed, who is the sweetest dog we've ever met.The adoption process was pretty straight forward. Crystal was a great help answering our questions. The fee was $55 dollars and included the dog being spayed and microchipped. We got to pick up the dog 2 days later after her surgery. We are so glad we decided to rescue her. She is the most laid back easy going dog we have ever owned. Does she need some training? Of course she does, all dogs (and people) can always use some more training. That being said its now been 2 weeks and she's already an integral part of our family. So our thanks to Levy County Animal Services for the newest member of our family. If your still reading this and are considering rescuing a dog. Please go check them out. There are plenty of good dogs who could use a good human to share the rest of their lives with.

I really liked this place. They were super friendly, and great with my dogs. The dogs had never been to the vet before, and one of my dogs being animal aggressive I was a nervous wreck. The staff knew exactly what to do and how to handle the situation. All went great. It was almost $400 for two dogs one approx 15lb and the other approx 65lb to get all of their shots & to get a three month flea/tick medication for the both of them PLUS to get their nails done. Then for the bigger dog to have a heartworm test and a 1 year heartworm shot was an additional $100. It was overall a good visit and well worth the drive and the money to know my babies are cared for properly, safe, and happy.

Won’t take a stray, had an attitude and didn’t have a solution to where to send the dog quoteing it’s my problem. So I stayed can I Tesla’s the dog then and she said I would call and report you for abandonment even though it wasn’t my dog .!!!

The staff are wonderful. It's a great place to take your fur child to get fixed if you're on a fixed income. They explain everything in language you can understand and the price is very affordable and if you want a fur child they have many to choose from. I'm extremely happy I went there. They could always use your help with many things and in many ways. Who knows you may find yourself the best friend you ever hoped for right there

It's a good place to take animal to be spayed or neutered. If you're low income and have the paperwork to show you can get your pet done a lower cost that includes rabbis shot and chipped. I only paid $40.00 for my boy to be neutered, I have a big dog so that's cheap and my dog is not fearful of going there. He walked straight back with the lady happy as could be

They are currently trying to build new kennels so it is small for now. But they do the best they can to keep as many dogs as they can. I got my girl waffles from there and she is the best dog I've ever had. I would recommend people to stop buying puppy's and adopt instead. And always give a senior dog a chance. They deserve to be loved just as much as a puppy does. My waffles is a senior that I adopted from here

Bless their hearts! They took in Dingo (I named her that after capture btw) a stray chiweenie my neighbor and i managed to catch today with no problems! I hope they managed to get her a good home cause no dog needs to be left on the streets.

I originally left a very negative review but they have since remedied the situation with the utmost professionalism. Levy county is a big place and this agency does an outstanding job with the very limited resources at their disposal. The officers really do their very best to safeguard the public from genuinely dangerous nuisance animals which would otherwise not be a problem if people took better care and responsibility for them. They also try very hard to find good homes for abused or otherwise neglected animals. In my experience, it's important for people to realize that if you have an animal problem, it's really a people problem, and I urge the residents of Levy county to help these hardworking people by taking responsibility for their pets.

A small, rural shelter. The shelter gets a bad reputation from the community but the shelter really is understaffed and underfunded. I am very involved in animal rescue in Levy County and the surrounding areas and I clearly see that the staff does all that they can. The problem lies within the community; the citizens of Levy County lack the desire to actually spay and neuter their animals. To add to tgat, your average resident believes animals are property and do not need to be kept fenced or properly secured. The shelter deals with many strays who just wander and many owner surrenders because people are too unwilling or unable to take care of their dogs. Their are many outreach programs that offer low/no cost spay and neuter and they do not take advantage of it. The staff consists of 1 Director, 1 Veterinarian, 2 Animal Control Officers, and 2 Secretaries who also serve as Vet Techs. Combine this with the fact that Levy County is one of the largest counties in Florida from a mileage perspective and it's simple to see that the 2 Officers simply can't cover all that is needed from an education and outreach standpoint, coupled with their daily duties. The funding is a constant source of anger for the county, with many residents actually wanting to decrease it. As I said previously, I am heavily involved in dog rescue in Levy County and have gotten to see first-hand how these people truly care for the animals and hate having to put them down to open up kennels. It's not that they don't care, it's that they don't have the necessary tools to do the job that they want.

They are in process of building a new modern animal shelter. They offer free neutering. I have rescued several dogs from them over the years and would recommend looking there for your next pet. These animals have been abused and neglected and make wonderful companions for life.
