Luisa is absolutely amazing. She comes in and looks at the windows and gets an idea of your taste. She brings sample books along so you can hold the fabric to the wall. She helped us pick fabric. Explained why some of the fabric we picked wouldn’t work and offered suggestions. We were doing it during Covid and many of her samples from her books weren’t available in the quantity that we needed due to shipping into the country. She spent much time on the website finding the fabrics that were available. She came and hung them when she finished Sewing them. The drapes in the living room are heavy. They did stretch as they hung. We expected that. Luisa came back and sewed them to the correct length. She is absolutely spectacular. Her work is quality all around. She is such a pleasure to work with. I am attaching photos of the living room and dining area. She did our bedroom as well.

Although the company is called “Sewing” by Luisa, the services provided are much, much more than just sewing.Luisa re-upholstered two favorite chairs and ottomans for us. The transformation was amazing! Luisa provided beautiful, consistent workmanship with attention to detail on all four pieces. This is fine upholstery work and we are very happy with our “new” furniture!Note that Luisa also makes furniture slipcovers and she offers sewing services, too!We highly recommend this cheerful shop at 1612 N East St, Sarasota, FL.

I found her shop by googling upholstery. I have a La-Z-Boy recliner that had a hole in the seat and their repairman could not fix it. I found fabric that matched my new couch and chair and thought it would make great pillows, arm covers, and a seat covering. Luisa repaired the chair so well that you couldn’t tell where the hole had been! I described to her what I wanted and she took the measurements. I was absolutely thrilled with the outcome!! I got EXACTLY what I asked for! Such TOP QUALITY work!! I would not hesitate to use her again. She has a tremendous selection of fabrics in her store to choose from! My friends think it looks fabulous! I was hoping to post pictures but don’t see that option.

Not only did this shop do excellent work, when I used them, they under-promised and over-delivered! I thought my drapes weren't going to be ready until after Christmas due to their heavy work load. This woman is AMAZING!! She updated 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room, and kitchen and everything is perfect! We had her cover 4 cornices for our master bedroom, a king headboard, make matching pillows for the bed and make a matching dust ruffle for a split king temperpedic bed. She came up with a plan to make slits where the foot wire holder for the bed exists and created a Velcro panel, so we could slip the dust ruffle over the wire holders and it lays perfectly! The accent pillows that she created were beautiful, with an artistic flair!! She is honest, very reasonable, does exceptional work and is a delight to deal with!!! I would recommend this business to anyone with sewing needs!!!

I needed some lounge chair covers replaced. Based on their good reviews, I chose Custom Sewing by Luisa. They were friendly, helpful and upfront about their timing (closing for the holidays). They looked busy, were knowledgeable and seemed to trust and work together as a team. They gave me an estimate of how much material I would need to complete the job (assuming a solid color). I brought them the material that afternoon (I bought extra because it was striped) and left them the “old” cover to use as a pattern. And I asked if there was enough, I’d like two lumbar cushions in the same sunbrella material. The next day they called to confirm the direction of the stripe. And they delivered the cushion covers two days early - with the lumbar pillows! AND with more than 5 yards of material left over (which is the amount I overbought from their estimate to handle the stripes). The Workmanship was superb! The patterns were matched perfectly! The piping was straight and uniform. The zippers were heavy duty for outside and there were NO stray strings! My Mom was an expert seamstress, so I know what to look for! These women were very very good. Clearly, they took pride in doing a job well and complete.The pricing was fair, especially for the quality produced. I will be back with many more projects for them! I own two cottages that desperately need new window treatments!A Gem!!!
