The room was clean and spacious. There were 3 of us and we only needed it for one night (10/19/2023). I was happy to find a place that would allow a one night stay! We were so close to Bridge Street, the fishing pier and the beach that we could walk. Even my mother with hip problems was able to walk to some of the shops & back to the room to rest. Very convenient for all of us. The pool area was very nice! My only complaint was the hot tub... it did not get hot. Set the timer for 15 min waiting for it to heat up but never did so I called the office and they sent a maintenance man to check it out. We went to eat and came back but to our surprise it still wasn't hot. We were a little disappointed that we couldn't utilize that amenity. I gave 4 stars for service on that detail but other than that it was a positive outcome. Check in was easy and I would definitely stay here again. We had room 609.

Great little place with a very nice pool and hot tub area in the middle. You dont get all the amenities of a big chain hotel but this is a nice quiet little place and very close to the beach and a ton of little shopping stores, restaurants, bars, and a convenience store for anything you forgot. We certainly could have stayed within a 3 block radius the entire time we were here.

Room was clean not worth the money and not good for four adultsLighting was great if you like airport brightTable was for childrenBeds were very uncomfortableWe had to go up a flight of stairs, which we were never told about could’ve presented a problem for one of our friendsChannel selection very poorBathroom was only the size of a powder room in the middle of our living. Space awkwardSo glad we only spent one night, but was very overpricedOh, and did I mention originally we could not get onto the island for our first reservation because of the hurricane, but they were unwilling to provide a refund also, they charged 12% resort fee which is very high no ice eitherLocation good

Very nice place to stay on Anna Maria Island. Super short (5 min) walk to the beach, coffee shop, putt putt, restaurants etc. The room itself was newly renovated and very cozy.Beautiful pool area too, but for some reason the hot tub wasn’t hot when we were there.Overall it was an excellent experience at the Pelican Post.

Excellent location to walk to Bridge St, AMOB, bay, and beach! Rooms were clean and modern and we received daily room service. There are people living in rooms with pets, I'm sure due to recent hurricane. One guy let his dog pee on the walkway and he was spitting on it too. You could tell his room had selling second hand goods. Another family with a dog that barked in the room, they had broken blinds on the window, and didn't clean up after themselves in the garden. Another family was living out of their car and the room. It was great folks had a clean safe place to stay but it was awkward and made me a lil nervous with so many people with personal belongings in and out of the cars and dogs. One room specifically made me very nervous.I will go back again but will ask questions before booking.

This was our second time visiting this hotel with in a month. Loved the location and rooms so much we came back with the kids. However, this trip we had quite a few issues. Check in did not go smoothly, entry into room is by an electronic pad that you have to enter a code. Codes didn't work. We along with almost every other guest and to call on multiple occasions to get into our rooms. The pool pumps weren't working so the pool water was a bit cloudy and the spa didn't work at all. Then the morning we were leaving we had a nice $75 ticket from the City of Bradenton Beach because our truck stuck out into the road. The Suburban next to us also received a ticket. The hotel needs to let guests know ahead of time to come in smaller vehicles or park somewhere else. It wasn't a great way to end the vacation. I know the hotel is new and I hope they can work out the kinks. I will definitely give it another try in the future and hope for a better experience.

Generally, this place is actually pretty great. The location is fantastic and the rooms are comfortable and vary widely across the resort properties. Thanks to FEMA and Hurricane Ian destroying my home and everything in it, I’ve been turned nomad and we were at this joint for 45 days…untilThey gave us only 36 hours notice to vacate, assuring us it wasn’t us, that they’d discontinued their contract with FEMA because of season. So for the next 44 hours or so, I proceeded to break down and pack up the contents of our room. Dripping with sweat and in pain from dehydration and lack of sleep, the assistant manager, Anthony, makes an appearance at our doorstep, brandishing his phone that supposedly showed the 36 hours notice to vacate (it didn’t. On the contrary, it actually proved us right….). Up until that moment, I’d had nothing but positive interactions with everyone around - staff and other guest. And now here’s the situation: I’m sweaty and otherwise disheveled, exhausted from everything (did I mention that I’m currently disabled? Well, I am.) and this guy is standing in the doorway, demanding to know when I was vacating when it was quite obvious that I was trying my best to vacate. After insistently shoving his phone in my face so I could see the supposed proof he had, his justification for treating us like Street trash instead of amenable guests who rarely even asked anything out of the housekeeping and cleaned up after every dog staying there, just in case. And this arrogant grouchy tiny man just had to be right and feel better about his life by trying to make ours more challenging than it already was. After Anthony threatened to call the police to escort me off the property and three Ubers later, we were successfully checked out. I would’ve considered giving this five stars but between Anthony the assistant manager and all of the attendant melodrama from it, I’m left with a bad taste in my mouth and more than a little bit disgusted by how poorly it was handled.

This is a beautiful quaint location! Steps away from the beach, the inlet and restaurants. The staff from, maintenance , housekeeping and office were very friendly and helpful. The room was beautifully remodeled and spotless! Our only two suggestions would be have a posted detailed instructions on how to use Roku TV and a pillow topper on the bed. Will definitely will be recommending and we will be back!

This place is labeled on Google as modest, but I think it's great. The appliances and furnishing is all top notch, the design is elegant beachy, and the air-conditioning is frigid. All for a price that would be reasonable anywhere; it is truly a great find.Within a minute or two walk from the place is a circle K for all your convenience store needs on the way to the beach which is literally across the street, and the other direction takes you to Drift-in, a gem of a locals bar/package shop.

Pelican post uses a internet check in system. So ready your email so you will know what your room number and access code is. The landscaping and pool area are beautiful. Large pool with hot tub near by. There is plenty of lounge chair to relax during the day or night so you can enjoy your surroundings. The rooms are very clean and updated. There's near by restaurants and bars to keep your nights entertained. Your about 500 feet from the Beautiful gulf coast.highly recommend.

I LOVE this place! Talk about location! The beach is a few steps away, the pier a few steps away and all the food and drinks you could want (Bridge Street) a few steps away! awesome!! The pelican post is a cute little motel that is clean and just adorable. My husband and i have stayed here four times over the last 2 years and we will not stay anywhere else. The price is just right. They are pretty popular, make sure your reserve a few weeks in advance. I do not have one complaint about this place!!

We stayed here one night in July 2012. They were very friendly both in person and through email. The complex is older, but well maintained and clean. The grounds have tropical plants. The location couldn't be better, a street over from bridge street, the historic pier and a very short walk to the beach. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay on the island.

It was a great experience at the pelican post. I took my wife and son for a mini vaca on the island. The room is beautiful, updated and very spacious. The AC unit is in the main room so it made the rest of the room kind of hot. Our son had to sleep with us because the ceiroom fan was missing the cord in the other room to be adjusted. I had to buy a fan from Walmart. Other than that the location is great and the beach is in walking distance.

Paired this up with Cortez beach! Cornhole, pool, close to the beach with the softest sand ever! Oh my!!! Plus the staff lady was so nice and polite and really made me feel welcomed and appreciated and went out of her way to help us out getting us into our room at when we would arrive after midnight…just some places I get stuck in during my work travels that I really love about this job!

Second time staying here now even better than the first time :) the room was ready for us early and in great condition. Also allowed us to extend our stay a day and check out late, very accommodating. Simple quaint rooms that have everything me and my wife to be needed. Wonderful customer service and theyve even made some upgrades since my first stay so I hope they continue to do good so that we can continue to vacation here for my birthday :) God Bless The Pelican Post! Memories Made Here :)

Everything was just what we expected. Nicely decorated room, with 2 dbl beds. Small restroom with a shower. The water pressure was amazing! The kitchenette had a stove, frig, microwave, and coffee maker. Nice sized flat screen tv. Perfect for what we needed, for a one night stay. Friendly proprietor. Use of beach towels, floats, and even bicycles. Price was a little high, but one of the cheaper motels for the island.

We recommend Pelican Post to friends and visitors. This place is right in the middle of everything. The location is perfect, so many things in walking distance. The staff is always friendly and helpful. And the rooms are cozy, old Florida style. That's what people like when they come to the Island. When I am on vacation I don't need Internet 24hours!! There are many spots on the Island where the internet doesn't work.Nice garden with BBQ area. And you have your own parking spot (no costs). Free bikes, beach towels and beach chairs. What else do you need when you go on vacation on the Island.

If you want a the best vacation possible stay at Pelican Post. Hands down one of the best vacations I have EVER had. The location is superb, you honestly can't beat it! Close walk to all the bars, shops, and restaurants. The beach is a 2 minute walk- if that! The owner is an extremely nice lady. The hotel is not the most modern by any means (very comfortable though), but you're not there to sit inside. You're there to relax and explore all of the great places AMI has to offer. We will definitely be staying here again and could not be any more pleased. Thank you, Pelican Post!

Super nice low-key hotel. Great for a beach getaway (3 minutes walking!). You can borrow beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, etc. Rooms are well equipped for cooking . A/C and free WiFi work well. Withing walking distance of nice places to eat and enjoy the spectacular sunsets.

If you want to spend a few days with your family, and feel at home this is the ideal place, It is not the most luxurious place, But it is cozy and above all clean, its owners are very friendly, they have towels chairs books for the enjoyment of their guests, if you make an online reservation you must supply your card details before arriving. So you can secure the reservation. 100% recommended.

Loveeeeee it! Clean everywhere. The beds were comfy. They provide basic things. It haseems a home sweet home feeling that even my 2 year old was at home. I will definitely rent this place again in the near future. It was overall just a wonderful place to spend a mini vacation away .
