I’ve been going here since 1986. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff, healthy fish, clean store. When it comes to supplies whether it be parts or food they ALWAYS have what I need. There is nothing better than going to a family owned business and you feel like part of the family. TEN STARS !!!!

The best fish store with amazing healthy fish of all kinds and sizes. The staff are super knowledge and friendly, and answered all my questions as a new fish owner! Their prices are better than the chain pet stores and their pets and plants are 100 times healthier. Even if you're not interested in buying, it's fun store to walk around in and look at. They have so many amazing fresh and saltwater creatures.

Barrier reef is awesome! Ask for Joey he is super knowledgeable and just a generally great person. Joey truly cares about the fishes well-being which is rare in the hobby. The owner is active in the business and will look into ordering specially items upon request. They’ve done a great job remodeling store leading to a greater selection of products.

Walked in here one day wanting to start a saltwater community for the first time... Jason and the staff are SO friendly and were beyond helpful, teaching me how to properly care for my tank and everything I need to know about a saltwater community. So grateful I walked in here and now have a great family owned local fish store I trust to buy from and gain knowledge from every time I walk in! Big fish selection as well (salt and fresh).

I've been coming to this store for the last 15 years and have had consistent, dedicated, and passionate help with my aquarium hobby from the people at Barrier Reef. If I needed advice they were always there to help, and the caution me before I got ahead of myself. They take wonderful care of the animals, their space is clean and orderly, and the staff is always friendly. It's nice to see a local fish store that has stood the test of time, and if I ever had an issue with a purchase, they did their best to accommodate me. Look for Jason, Robin, or Kelly when you arrive and you'll see why their store is unparalleled in the hobby for miles to come.

This is really the place to go! They have an amazing selection of both fresh and saltwater fish/corals.Jason in particular is the main reason my friends and family all shop here.. He is greatly knowledgeable, very thorough and such a nice guy.. He will take the time to help you, give you all sorts of advice, and also explain his reasoning behind everything and why he suggests doing things the way he recommends. And I can say without a single doubt, that everything he has suggested me to do has ALWAYS worked and been twice as effective as the advice I would get from anyone else at different fish stores. More importantly, he speaks to you in an educational/informative manner which certainly helps retain the information being relayed. For someone who’s been in this hobby my whole life and own several large aquariums, Jason has been of the most help! Great shop and great people!

Very helpful, knowledgeable and personable staff. They know tanks and involved for decades...or for most part...I haven't spoken with every employee. Nice selection of live plants, coral, and other equipment you would need. Prices are about same as other places, but here they have all you need. And if you don't see it, they could probably get for you. And...they care for the fish..they are not just something they sell.

We love going to this place for our tank water and livestock needs. They have a super easy, drive up system for picking up RO and saltwater. The shop is kept nice and clean inside and has very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Would give 6 stars if I could. A+

The staff is super knowledgeable and helpful. The place is super nice, great variety of fish, always clean. I never experience sick fish from this store or stressed. Help your local stores! It might be a little more expensive but it’s always nice to help the community.

Really sad, it used to be a joy just coming here, the fish and plants and supplies were all reasonably priced and excellent quality. They downsized a bit and have slowly deteriorated, both in quality and the knowledge of their employees. Today I walked away with nothing. Lots of empty tanks, and lots of dirty tanks and the inventory was sad. Also a lot of excuses. Delivery didnt come, suppliers aren't coming. There is no CO2. Not sure if these are widespread problems or just here but I need a find a new fish store. Really disappointing after all these years

You must pay guys to run people out of the store. I would give zero star, but at least I got to look at some fish even though I was refused the opportunity to buy a fish. Our day did turn out better.. We did find a real fish store and felt like he was our best friend.

Amazing place to purchase some fish and or your fish supplies. Juan had the best customer service of them all and is very knowledgeable, with fresh and salt water. He helped me save my Betta named Barrel he went above and beyond. Helped me to pick out all the right meds to treat my fishy friend and even wrote me down the instructions on how to treat my boy Barrel. Because of him my fish is still alive today I was at many other places and even googled all over the internet and could not find any answers as to what was going on. Went to this establishment and ran into Juan and he knew just what to do. The prices in the store are fair and the fish/aquariums are well taken care of, go check em out for all you aquarium needs. Salt or fresh.
