Looks like they haven’t cut the grass in weeks. Very overgrown. Looks kind of neglected. I don’t think it would take much money to improve it. Come on Big Pine! Time to put some money and time in here.

The park are for the small dogs looks a bit run down and could use some benches, but my three love running off leash and playing. There is fresh water and if you forget the dog waste bags, they supply some here.

WOW this is an AWESOME dog park!!!! We found this gem while backroading the area in our Jeep, it is in a great rural location. The grounds are clean, and we'll maintained. There's plenty of shade, and a big water tub for the dogs to cool off in. We are staying in Marathon, but our dogs love this place so much that we drive down once a day for them to run off their energy. Drive SLOW in this area, the Key deer are everywhere. I highly recommend taking your dog here, they will love it.

My dogs love the other dogs in their morning group. Monroe County maintains the park and the guys do the best they can with limited staff and resources since hurricane Irma.

Excellent park for the dogs. Nice and clean! Very nice people to talk with. It also has a tennis court,a volleyball court,and a baseball field.

This is a dog park with a lot of potential but needs some attention from the County. There is a broken picnic table and the sand portion of the park needs 6-7 truckloads of sand.There are water stations with leaky hoses. The park also really needs a staging area where you can wash your dog on the way home. It’s not complicated, and there is room between the big dog area and the tennis courts.The county? Has installed a shade shelter (over the broken picnic table) but it’s in the far corner of the park where we have never seen anyone other than the dogs go.Dog parks can be a real attribute to a town. This one has great potential but needs some attention by the County to properly represent Big Pine Key. It just feels a little bit like a forgotten priority.The people we have encountered there are friendly , nice mix.

During our stay in the Keys, we visited the Big Pine Dog Park numerous times. We always found lots of friendly dog lovers and their people loving dogs. My Doodle puppy had a blast. Only downside is that much of the surface is dirt and we would end up with a very dirty pup. I'm positive my puppy didn't mind at all. Small pools are available with running water for bathing. We fully intend to return next year and enjoy the doggy play and some social time with other dog people.

Awesome Pooch Park! N humans can goof off here as well w tennis and volleyball courts! Larger dog park has doggie pool/bathing area and smaller one just bathing no pool … most dog folk leave a toy for all the pups toPlay with! Only a mile off of US 1 so super convenient for travelers who need a ‘only 30 more miles to kw’ break! Lol Picnic areas and plenty of shade! Definitely pretty well maintained! We’re here everyday!!! Super friendly people. Nice area for the pups to run and even take a dip in a pool. there is water available for the pups to enjoy. chairs, benches, a picnic table to relax on.

Really nice park but unfortunately their are groups of regulars there who do not adhere to park rules and allow their dogs to be extremely aggressive towards other dogs.There was 2 dogs that kept pinning my lab mix to the ground and kept biting him. I told the one guy that his dog was biting mine and he said he was not biting. I agree he did not draw blood but was certainly very aggressive and was biting. So was some ladies dog. When I told them the rules clearly stated aggressive dogs should be removed at once they told me they weren't aggressive.It was a group of regulars who meet there in the mornings. Now I know how dogs play and can be rough but people need to control their pets when they are bullying another dog and pinning them to the ground. My dog could barely move with out being pinned down. After a bit of a verbal altercation and being told I was wrong I left.

We visited while on vacation. There are separate areas for small and large dogs. The grass was green but lacked areas of shade. There were water pools and and faucets which are nice with the heat. No potties for humans.

This place was ok. The rules they have for the dog park kind of doesn't go with what a dog park is all about. It states you must keep your dog on an 8' leash even while in the fenced in area. Usually your dog is allowed to run free inside the fenced areas. It really isn't much different than taking your dog for a walk in a regular park. Don't make a special trip if you're looking for a real dog park.

It's okay. However, it's worth traveling to the Key West, Higgs Beach dog park which is right across from the Atlantic Ocean!This BPK dog park is quite "CLICK-ISH". The dog owners there are not very friendly to new-bies. Plus they ignore their pets and just sit or stand around in a circle and gossip about the other people in the Community or other dog park parents not in attendance that day. Most all of the male dogs there are un-neutered.I'll pass THANK YOU.

Generally well maintained but needs some improvements, e.g. sod. Needs more care and concern by some of the users, e.g. clean up after your dog and don't leave tubs of water. VERY good to have two parks--one for big dogs and one for small dogs.

This is a clean well-kept dog park with an expansive play area for large dogs. The addition of a doggy pool and plenty of water bowls was a nice touch.

Very large, fenced in area for the dogs to run, with a big pool to cool off or play in. Plenty of supplies and receptacles for dog waste, and seating for paw parents.

My pup Morty loves playing here and loves making friends ❤ there is a house, dishes and a little pool which is great and a smaller enclosed area for our little buddy Frank when we babysit for his mom

Best place for shade, doggie dates, and doggie pools. Balls and frisbees available at park. Bathing is available as long as you have your own doggie shampoo!
