There's times you can find stuff at Ace that Home Depot or Lowe's don't carry especially old school if you know what I mean. Staff is great !!!Five thumbs up !!!👍👍👍👍👍

I have been working 6-7 days a week to remodel a toy hauler a few miles down the road from the Ace Hardware for the last 3 months. On a handful of occasions, I have had to run out in the middle of the day from the worksite and head to the nearest hardware store which is this establishment. I have never had an issue until today. I was previously helped by the ladies that worked there (do not know any names). Today, as I was looking for glue and in a hurry as it was FINALLY under 90 degrees outside, an older gentleman came up to me and asked if I needed help. Nice right? NOT his intent though. Because then he informed me that if I wanted to continue to shop in this store I would have to leave my “backpack” up front. I explained to him, it was not a backpack, it was my purse. He said, “well, you still need to leave it up front if you want to shop”. Obviously this is a policy to discourage shoplifting and his insistence maybe implied he thought I was going to shoplift?? Please also know that while he was telling me this, I was plainly holding $65 in cash in my hand because I was in a hurry. I was also NOT carrying a backpack but a sling bag messenger style that happened to be slung over my back because I was in a hurry. So this one man single handedly ended my business for this Ace Hardware and how many more women because he doesn’t know what a purse looks like? And also, am I just supposed to assume no one will look through my purse up front? It’s a two way street. What a shame.

They are very helpful!...they not only tell you where something is,they show you and give you alittle back ground on the item and some advice depending on whether your project is large or small,they will still take the time out and give you the best service indeed!...love the people who work here and the place as well!❤️

I visited this Ace Hardware for some supplies for my kitchen - but was met with such rudeness from a manager named Emma. I tried to get her assistance on what screws would work for the cabinets I had and she told me that i’d have to “figure it out on my own” and that i “shouldn’t come to the store without knowing what i need”. I’m guessing the frustration was because I interrupted her while she was camping at work. Luckily, i found another coworker who was able to assist. Sorry about your bad day, Emma.

I attempted to return 3 standing oscillating fans to 1350 E Church St,Bartow, FL 33830 store. They were bought one day before and in the original boxes. The manager Jerry Buttler was Very rude, and questioned me on the purpose of the return, why I needed them, what they were originally purchased for, and was all around very uncomfortable and demeaning. I had the receipt. I eventually asked Jerry why do you need to know so much about these? I purchased yesterday, and decided I didn't actually need them. I shouldn't have to be questioned like a criminal to return something I don't need. He only looked at 1 box out of the 3 and told me he wouldn't accept them for returns. He said there was a little bit of dirt on the back. The fan was turned on and tested for approximately 10 mins then boxed back in the original package. This kind of customer service is very shocking from Ace "The helpful place" hardware store.

Actually went in to get a part to install my gas stove but didn't actually know what I was looking for. The employee that helped us, her name was Amber, overheard my conversation with the person at the front desk and offered to help us and she stepped up and helped out tremendously. It took a while to find exactly what we needed but she knew what we were looking for. I just really appreciate that type of customer service, to me she went above and beyond. I would recommend this store anytime. She was awesome.. THX!!

Support your local shops, especially your Ace hardware's who are usually locally owned. They carry a lot of different and unique stuff that your big box stores do not carry.

Ordered window screens. First time ordered I three. I wanted to order more, but I never realized how expensive! screens are! There was a short turn around time & the windows were perfect. A few weeks later I ordered another set of five.When I went to pick up windows, they were the wrong sizes and just the screens only (I paid and ordered for the complete aluminum window frame plus screens). After explaining the problem (on the length - one side was significantly shorter than the other side) , the manager said that he would make it right. I also left a window from my first order that I wanted duplicated exactly for better reference for exactly what I wanted. (The manager even pointed out to me, that that screen - the one that I had bought & paid for from that store was incorrect due to the tabs being on the wrong side. That was no big deal to me, but I did leave the window for a reference.)2 days later I stop in to pick up the windows and was told they weren't ready yet, but I could stop by again that afternoon. No problem. That afternoon, I was told that the installer was busy and couldn't get to them that day and to check back in later. I was frustrated but I told the female associate to just please have someone call me once they were ready.Another 2 days goes by with no call and the spouse goes to check on them. They did have the windows done but they are still the wrong sizes and now they are bent. The one I left with them to duplicate is also bent now. The manager told my husband that we received what we paid for (Over $100.00 for bent windows frames!!) and that the screens would "flatten and straighten" out once they were installed.I have shopped at this store before and always had perfect smooth transactions, so I am not sure if there has been a management change, store associate changes or what but I am unhappy with the experience and Bartow Ace will be my absolutely last choice. Especially when needing window screens done!

Excellent customer service. They're the nicest people in this store. I went in not knowing exactly what kind of nails to put up a crib. They didn't have the size but were more than willing to help me and teach me to substitute. They've helped us before with my daycare needs and also found contractors so this must proves it's not an act...... They're actually wonderful and great at their jobs in providing is true, down home, friendly service!

Manager Gerry was rude so I went to Lowe's and saved 12 dollars on the water key. Ace store wanted 24 dollar I got for 12 dollars. I won't return to Ace Hardware Bartow

Very helpful. Prices are pretty good. I purchased a portable dual toolbox. I just love it. There is one part that is small enough for me to carry for small jobs & when I click it to the large bottom, I have more more things to use.

I took a screen in to have repaired over a month ago I checked in two weeks ago and at first they couldn't find it then told me they found but had a hole and needed to be redone said they will call. Over two weeks later still no call. Today I'll make another trip to see what's up. You pay in advance for screen repair so I'm still waiting. No more Ace I'll find another place to do my business☹️

Ace always has what i need. I went to a much larger hardware store just to get a copy of a key and between two people and 30 minutes latter. NO key. Went over to ace 5 minutes i was out the door with my key. Very friendly and helpful employees.

They were out completely of the paint I wanted... Asked if they had another brand that would match up in color tone and sheen, without being ridiculously drastic in price. They mixed me 2 gallons but the price was more than double when I got to the register. $39.97 for 2 gal. of what I wanted, $81.30 next cheapest brand. I'll never go back, next time I'll be using anyone but Ace. Staff was nice but completely ludicrous & ignorant.

I went to buy something the website stated was at the store in three different brands and prices ranging from $20-35. With small stores closing due to COVID, I wanted to support a local store.The store looked like a rummage sale - dirty, disorganized, and claustrophobic. The young woman who helped was the only reason I gave stars to this. The item I was looking for was not there and she said they never carry it -- not in any brand. She explained they weren't affiliated with Ace's website. But she called an Ace in a nearby town - which also wasn't affiliated with the web. The clerk there advised her to tell me to check at the Dollar Tree.I assured her this was not a dollar item.It's so frustrating to want to support local businesses but they only carry what you need on line.

Got asked to leave because I had on a backpack I ride a motorcycle and I stopped in to get a couple bolts before I could even get to the bolts the manager stopped me and asked me to leave my backpack outside. I told him I'm not allowing my stuff to get stolen. He said then I cant allow you to shop here. I will make the trip to any other place that sells hardware. Before I shop at this place again.

lazy staff doesnt want to help anyone. had me running around looking for someone to fill propane tanks and when i couldnt find anyone, they told me they were not filling them due to rain despite no thunder nor lightning being seen nor heard. never did find the one who was supposed to fill the tanks. go elsewhere. you are wasting your time shopping there.

Ace is the place. This Ace hardware store is the best locally run establishment I've seen in quite some time. Go to this wonderfully operated and stocked hardware store, you'll find whatever it takes and whatever you need. Even if it's just kind friendly people who like their job.
