Honestly one of the best quality seafood places I’ve ever eaten at. The breading is perfect. Had steamed oysters, escargot, conch fritters, onion petals, gator tail, clam chowder. Everything cooked perfectly. Server Eileen was super nice and food came quick. 11am on a Saturday. I don’t usually do reviews but I just had to. The best part of all was the price! I’ll be honest, I have no idea how they I ordered all that plus two soft drinks and my bill was well under $100. I was expecting over $100. Nuts.

The food was DELICIOUS. We were a party of 4 and we had the gator bites, cheese bites, fried pickles, French onion soup, club sandwich, patty melt, black & blue burger, deluxe burger, coconut cream pie, key lime pie, & banana cream pie. We didn’t talk to each other for like the first 20 minutes of getting our food. The food came out fast and our server was SUPER attentive. This place deserves all the credit. We walked in on a Saturday 10 minutes before 12pm. Pam & Brian your restaurant is a gem ♥️

Castaways family restaurant.A very nice locals kinda restaurant. Decor is nautical bordering on NASCAR. Service has been quick and pleasant. The chairs are very comfortable. Almost living room comfortable. They take it in stride when 7 bikers walk in. The ‘boom boom shrimp’ appetizer is excellent. How ever the dinner was at best mediocre.

Food overall was rather unimpressive.The good: The shrimp sampler platter was excellent. All of our appetizers were also great, including the fried pickles, green fried tomatoes, and fried cheese curds. Spaghetti with meat sauce was also good.The bad: My club sandwich was average. I'm not happy that it didn't have any cheese on it for $15. Chicken Alfredo was forgettable. Fried chicken tenders had the consistency of leather, mostly skin and breading. Basically inedible. Grilled chicken was flavorless and cold. Our baked potato also came out cold.

Do yourself a favor and stop at Castaways for an amazing meal. They serve up incredibly good food coupled with outstanding service. A must try is the lobster bisque...some of the best I've ever had. They are also dog friendly with food options for your pooch and a special sitting area to enjoy a meal with your fur baby. This was a hidden gem of a find and we are so glad we stumbled upon it.

If you're in the mood for some mouth-watering seafood, Castaway is the place to be! This restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way possible. From the moment I walked in.The menu had an impressive selection of fresh seafood, and I couldn't resist trying the cat fish to start. It was rich and creamy, with a perfect balance of seasoning, and they were cooked to perfection - tender and juicy with a delicious charred crust.

Excellent food and service. We just happened to drive by this place and it looked interesting so we stopped. So glad we did. They have the best burgers, fried green tomatoes and of course hand made fries. Large portions and a friendly atmosphere. They even had live music on a Tuesday night. I can't say enough good things about this place. Great find inn Aston, Florida.

The food was AMAZING! We ordered fried green beans, bang bang shrimp and fried pickles for appetizers, they were delicious the shrimp were huge. Entrees were, fried seafood platter, patty melt and fries and prime rib quesadilla. Food was off the chain and service was fast and courteous! Def will be going back!

Just regular dining. First time at this place. We walked in and nobody greeted us so we just sat at any table. Waitress came over and took our order. She was very nice. The oysters were good but the frog legs need better seasonings. The club sandwich tasted funny maybe the turkey was bad. I had to remove the turkey so i could eat the sandwich then pray i didn't get sick. We go to pay and the waitress drops my debit card on the floor picks it up and puts my debit card on an empty table while she gives water to a different table so i guess i better keep an eye on my debit card and make sure nobody takes it right 🤦‍♀️ I forgot to mention when your order is ready in the kitchen the cooker just screams loudly for the waitress. 🤦‍♀️ Not sure i will ever stop in again. There are definitely better places to eat on 40.

This laid back little restaurant in Astor I had some of the best seafood I've had in a while. I had a fisherman's plate that had fish shrimp scampi fully loaded baked potato and snow crab legs The crab legs were fresh and crisp when you broke into them not soggy and rubbery which is a special treat because that's the way you get them in most places. My wife shrimp dinner with fish was excellent fried to perfection not greasy. Our waitress Jo-jo was attentive funny and full of exuberance this place reminded me of a place in somewhere in the Florida keys. For dessert I had their strawberry rhubarb pie that they serve warm! which was decadent so good. They have a full bar and serve many beers on tap Friday Saturdays and Sunday they have a prime rib from small to large cuts same as steaks will definitely go back for some of those and they also have live entertainment on the weekends. I believe they open 12:00 to 9:00 except Wednesdays which are closed check on the hours though. This will be a go-to spot if I ever on my way to Daytona It's right on silver springs boulevard just before the bridge and Astor well worth the stop. PS! One of the best clam chowders I've eaten creamy full of clams not chewy That's another thing that I wouldn't miss out on if you came here order it you won't be disappointed

Got an AirBnB for a fun boating weekend & saw the good reviews so we decided to have dinner here and boy, it did not disappoint! Busy night but the service was fast & friendly. Ordered the clam strips as an appetizer, the steak/shrimp special and the club sandwich. Food was delicious and the rum/cokes were STRONG! Had a guitar player warming up while the Gators were trying to eeek out a win against Alabama. Fun, family atmosphere - highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area!

We were heading home from ormond beach and decided to stop here. So glad we did! Cute, clean place with friendly staff. Ashley took care of us. She was great! We basically tried half the menu! Started with escargot and crab cakes. Both were very good! We had to try their famous burger, and it's definitely worth the name of best burger! I got the anchor chicken with collard greens and mac n cheese. All good, but mac n cheese could have had more flavor. Very creamy just not much flavor. Also got a side of shrimp scampi. Oh and the lobster bisque was delicious! Loaded with lobster! Needless to say, we will be eating our leftovers for a few meals! We will come back!!

I ate dinner at Castaways last night and I must say what an experience. A very intoxicated man came in and demanded a drink. The bartender, Shaina, told him she wouldn't serve him as he was intoxicated. He began calling her names and attempted to come toward the bar. While my friend went to her aid I tried to alert the manager who took a minute to realize what was happening. ..I told him a drunk man is being belligerentto your bartender. He finally reacted but by that time Shaina the bartender had handled it. The man was removed by Shaina. Wow..I've never seen a more professional act of management by Shaina andI'd like to commend her cool head, professionalism and quick thinking..as that situation could have escalated into something serious without her intervention.Also the food was GREAT!GREAT JOB SHAINA

Finding ourselves in the area, plus hearing good things about Castaways, we give it a try. What an awesome experience! From the classic motorcycles in the parking lot to the comical little signs of wit on the wall, then we sat and met Johnny. One of the more colorful servers I have ever had. After the appetizers I stepped out for a vape and shortly after I heard a ringing, it was Johnny with a triangle calling me in for launch, and what a lunch it was! We definitely have a new stopping point anytime we are in the Daytona area. I would highly recommend Castaways to anyone in the area.

Stopped for lunch. Several large groups already there. Ordered an appetizer & hamburger to split. Our order came up AFTER 4 (2 top) tables that came in after us. And after back room group served. Took almost an hour for our appetizer and another 15 minutes for main meal. Food was great. Hamburgers big enough to share. Skip the appetizers.

This was the lunch destination while riding Motorcycles with friends. Seating was quick, service was efficient and the food hot and good. I have been to this location several times and have never had a bad experiance. Today I had steak and cheese sandwich with onions and mushrooms along with fries. Food came to the table quickly and was hot and fresh. Very tasty! Will definately keep going back when in the area.Parking: Plenty of places to park, both as a single car or motorcycle or as a group.

Everything we ordered was bad. They were out of conch fritters and asked if they could sub homemade corn fritters, which came frozen in the center. The crab cake had no crab. None. Not just a little but no crab. The server was disgruntled. Overall terrible. But they're no so much to choose from so drink up! The beers cold!
