I tried to give them a shot but shame on me.. So many products are expired. There's a good amount meat/pork/and chicken have spoiled on the shelf but yet they still sell it and act like it's nothing to them... Your steak, hams, sausage/bacon(with nitrates), pork shouldn't be brown. That means it has oxidated, and spoiled. Not only the meat, but dairy too. It's against health code. I will never return here. I suggest you do the same.Your better off just making the trip somewhere else.. please don't normalize spoiled food.

Store is always clean, staff always helpful, and friendly. Shelves always stocked, and they have absolutely great deals on T- bone steaks ( on all of there steaks) occasionally.

I really don't like how they make us bag them I've seen so many older people need the help while the cashier just carries about her day and tells the older people" well go get a buggy so I can put these here in the cart then you take it over there and fill the bags yourself. For real what are they getting paid for?

Great prices and good selection. Got t-bone steaks for $4.99 a pound and bacon for $3.49 (very fatty, but ate the other night and delicious). Fruits and vegetables also nicely priced (vine ripened tomatoes for $.88 a pound!).

Sav-A-Lot can be a gem. Great prices and quality on spices, canned goods, snack foods, dairy, and some meats. Fruits/Veg are touch-and-go, short shelf life and not the best quality on most items. "Bakery" is all low-quality stuff. No selection on coffee. Beer and soda prices are high. Chicken and pork offerings are a great value, not so hot on beef, which can be cheap, but must come from low-grade animals. You can get a jug of pig feet in that red liquid, so there's that nightmare fuel. They do have a lot of national brands repackaged for significantly lower prices, which is nice when you find it. The folks there are friendly and knowledgeable,. The clearance rack always has something weird to try.

Update: I'm changing my rating from 2 stars to 5 stars. Thankfully, you no longer have to pay to use a grocery cart, but you do still bag your own groceries, which I'm okay with. I don't see the store owners anymore when I go there. The staff who actually work there are cordial enough, which is also okay because I don't go in to make friends anyway. When I'm spending my money and supporting a business, it's just common courtesy for them to at least be pleasant, and the personnel that I've interacted with recently are . The quality of the meats had improved the last time I was in there also. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices of some of the meats. If you look around, you can find some good bargains on meats, though you might have to cut off some of the fat on the pork. I like to cook my meats with the fat on for more umami flavor and cut it off just before eating it. But if you like less fat, you can get the higher price per pound variety of meat, which is also available. I was also pleasantly surprised to see the variety of herbs, peppers, and fruits. And they looked as good as those in some of the more high-end grocery stores. Overall, I was very satisfied with my shopping experience this time.------Original: You have to bag your own groceries and you have to pay to use a grocery cart. The meats are not always the freshest, very few brand name merchandise, and the prices aren't any better than the large supermarkets. The owners are not friendly either. In fact, they don't even acknowledge your presence in their store. Not once have they even said hello, thank you , or have a good day--not even during check out. They won't even look at you when you're standing right in front of them as they scan your groceries! When you say "Thank you," don't expect a reply even then. I've scaled down to using the store occasionally for the convenience of it being located on my way home. I now do the bulk of my shopping elsewhere.

Shopping 🛒 is an experience here...lots of Spanish selections in fruits and veggies as well as canned goods. Great selections in meat dept. This is a " no frills" grocery store with limited staff. Prices are lower than the traditional food stores but worth a visit if you have a budget issue.

Not like a full size Publix, but a reasonably large grocery store with good prices and regularly excellent sales. I prefer to shop here when I'm able to just go to Archer rather than get bogged down in Gainesville's traffic and crowds.

Save-A-Lot is a grocery store that you can walk in and out they're not Save-A-Lot this door should be called spend a lot some are clean some are dirty some of the stores are not even owned by like the one in Bronson Florida the perks of Save-A-Lot is the convenience the different selection that Walmart does not carry Hispanic foods a lot of the Save-A-Lot or franchise family-owned businesses Save-A-Lot does have good product

The customer service In this place has gone downhill. Maybe if the owners paid their cashiers more they may come with a personality and actually say hi when a customer walks up on a better note the store is cleaner than it used to be.

Very clean, friendly staff, decent prices. My only few complaints is that the Generic drinks and some of the frozen foods have gone up a bit in prices. You also have to bag your own stuff here when you check out. Every time I come here there is almost never enough bags, or other people impatiently wait behind you because you’re the only one with the plastic bags on the counter. Other than that, I like coming here.

Every time I go to save a lot the pricing is never accurate with the tags on the shelves. Id say about 30% of what I buy every week is priced wrong. Its terrible. Ive been 3 weeks in a row ( I shop here weekly) and the same product rings up $1.50 more than the tag and ive told them every week including today. They are really good about fixing it if you tell them. But thats the problem.. if you catch it to tell them. I shouldn't have to memorize every tag to make sure I'm not getting ripped off. Today I missed 3 incorrect prices that I know about and it cost me an extra $6 and I didnt notice until I got home. Thats ridiculous. Id almost rather pay a little more at publix or Walmart than have to go to all the trouble of price checking every thing thats rang up.. And this isn't a new issue. Its been this way since I moved to archer 6 years ago. The difference is now everything is going up so much in price that the tags aren't a couple pennies off. They are 50 cents, a dollar, or almost 2 dollars off which is a huge amount when every dollar counts , every day. Its pretty dishonest of the owners and almost seems like its intentional at this point.

Updated review. I like the community feel of a realtime diverse community. The quality of meat is extremely low however management has to correct this before I will consider buying there ..... meat standards have to improve..... ! it's the ONLY time black white brown tan people get together and bulletin board great for all that info. Good prices . I saw an off duty employee help customer on day off. Great people make great stores...

We shop regularly at the Bronson location which nice and clean, the one in archer is dirty and smells awful. As well as they don't bag your groceries. The prices seemed a lot higher at this location as well

Not good.Prices not any lower, and these are not name brands.Several packages of obviously spoiled meats in the meat case also. No, I didn't purchase any meat from the store. Appears to be too much of a risk of sickness.Clean it up Save A Lot.

Good luck not getting rotten vegetables and meat here. This place is nasty and the owners don't care. Save your receipt because if you have to return your rotten meat they will ask for it even if they were the one that saw you buy it. The entire place has stunk of rot and mold at times. I am pretty sure they repackage meat with new labels as often it's rotten same day or next. Terrible store who has been reported to health department many many times

Great store for low budget shopping. Just remember to bring your own bags or boxes etc as they do not supply them to help save money. That's nothing to be annoyed about as I've seen some people be. Take your bags that you have used from other stores or even clean trash bags. You can improvise so we can let this store keep prices low.

I'm really glad this grocery store is in Archer. The produce is good the prices are decent and the help is always really friendly. And they have the best plantains in Gainesville!

Pretty good prices for certain items, nice wide isle's, well organized and stocked. My mother doesn't like to buy meat there ( I don't eat meat) she said she wasn't crazy about the selection. I could only find one brand of bottled water there, that was also a downer, but they did have gatoraid! All in all its a nice market, with some good deals

The prices here are amazing for anyone on a budget. It's got a small town feel and the staff were nice. It's not Publix but it's a good place to grab your groceries if you have a lot of people to feed.

It was awful, price was wrong tried to charge 3.50 more than advertised price . Went brought to the cashiers attention she was rude said if it wasnt in the flyer it didnt matter what shelf price said. She called over manager and he said the same thing and rudely grabbed item out of the cart. I told them this was false advertising. They didnt seem to care. They hope you wont notice the difference and when you do they become rude and defensive. Bottom line they are stealing from their customers. Make sure you watch the register prices if you take a chance and shop there.

We bought 7 packs of meat (chicken)- got ready to cook them and every single one of them was spoiled. Rancid. So incredibly disappointed. We will NOT be buying meat from this store again! If you’re going to buy meat ( of course you can’t open it in store to check it ), but save your receipts- and once your home, open it and smell it before you prep to cook.

I like those because employee is very friendly, those cheap but I don't like shopping there because food tend went bad. I get food poisoning so I rarely shop there olny buy can or chip depend on food. That why I give 2 star only because employee are very friendly
