Been looking for a new aquarium store near me to see what other shops had to offer. Had a customer come in that worked here and said to come check it out. It was a really small but well stocked shop. When I first walked in I wasn't greeted initially which felt a little funky but nonetheless I Browsed around and eventually got assisted and I got all of the supplies I needed to revamp my planted tank and it turned out excellent. Lots of decor. Gravel. And awesome driftwood pieces I love the one I picked out for my tank. I definitely recommend this shop for the people in the Apopka area. Great selection and great prices

I've been coming to this store for many years and theres is always a 90% chance the people are rude I've only had 3 great experiences. The only reasons I came back is because of the selection of plants they have for fresh water tanks. I get it they work at a fish store but they always act like they're the all knowing and everyone else knows nothing and instead of using their knowledge to help and educate customers in a nice way they are rude and arrogant, Which is why after this last visit I will never come again. Oh and let's not leave out that I drive 40 mins one way just to come to this store (waste of time). I bought a fish from there AFTER getting my water tested and finding out my water is perfect for more fish (I already have 3 fish and 1 frog) so I went to get one more fish and a frog, a 3 days later the fish died but the frog is happier than ever so I came back with the dead fish and they blamed it on me and my water and told me oh well there's nothing we can do for you about the fish so since I had already drove all the way there I figured I would get some plants and once again I dealt with the worst attitude and they gave me brown plants with a few greens so I left

Matthew is a crook in my eyes. I told him I wanted a set up for a 75 gallon tank and I would pay him to come to my house to set it up. He proceeded to charge me $1400 for his display tank his display aquarium stand and used filters. He took out of tanks in his store because they already had algae on them when he set them up in my house he then gave me a broken LED light controller with no instructions no original packaging and cracks in it with a dead battery. Upon telling me to come to the store to get a replacement, there was yet another used LED controller in a manila envelope. He just taped it up. Again, not in any packaging, nor with any instructions and it had two cracks. Nothing he bought to my house was an original packaging. The aquarium stand had dust on it already the filter and the thermostat had algae on them. To make matters worse the water stay cloudy for two consecutive days after he left. This is a treatment I get as a new aquarium owner, who wanted to give some business to a local store instead of Petsmart.. it wasn’t a day later that I realized my mistake when I saw the same set up at Petsmart for around $700 ! I showed it to Matthew and he had no comment. I certainly hope the money you made off me was worth this review, Matthew, your lack of professionalism and worse integrity speaks volumes to me, as I hope it does to anyone who cares enough to read these reviews. And to think I served this country for 10 years in a military when you were probably just a child in school, makes my stomach turn that you would treat me this way, without even knowing me.What’s worse is I have no paperwork to say what my items are so if I wanted to buy filter replacements I don’t even know what filter I have because you thought it more important to give me your used things with no packaging then to make sure I become more than just a novice fish tank guy. SHAMELESS MATTHEW !!!

A great place to get saltwater and fresh water fish. They even have turtles and mud skippers too! They stock pumps, hoses, tanks and everything else you will need to start, or maintain your fish hobby. The staff Is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Don't let the outside of the store fool you. It looks small from outside, but once you get inside and past the lobby, it opens up in the back for everything you will need.

My new favorite local pet store! I can purchase all of my marine hobby goods here and food for my fish! If you are into the saltwater hobby, this place is definitely a spot you should shop at. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! The co-owner is a former diver so any question or concern you may have, this place has all of your answers!

I don’t recommend , I heard about them from a close friend , I went for first time and bought Annularis and most of the time in fish stores they give discount as welcome but he refused , and I totally understand he had the right to not to , after 3 days the fish dead for no reason as I have other tanks full of angel fish and expert level tangs and I know what I am doing anyhow I called and was hoping to get help as my first experience that horrible , my friend told me u have good water they can test it and give u store credit or so like they did with her but Matt refused to help me but he helps other , so his policy one some people not all get treated the same there .

UPDATE 2022: I've been a patron of this business for nearly a year. I've been an aquarium and pet owner since childhood, I have three aquariums, and old enough to have grandchildren; that being said, here's my final thoughts regarding the service here...The older man is slow at catching fish, but very friendly jokester to pass the time. However, the old woman (his ex-wife) is the complete opposite. Whether I'm the first or only customer, I've had to wait for service every time, just to hear her spew an abundant supply of lip service, know-it-all attitude, assumptions of my knowledge and financial ability, inform me of her business category vs. others (as if I didn't know) and direct me to shop elsewhere because I wouldn't buy what she was hard pressing me to buy...RUDE!!! Guest what? I DIDN'T BUY AND WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DOLLAR IN THAT STORE!Based on my experiences...shop other stores: in person or online. I've found better prices especially in bulk for hobby, business and lifestyle.2021: Walked into Pet World looking for goldfish. Referred to Sea Life Aquarium nearby. Both stores... Young man was friendly, no waiting, lots of supplies, good prices, no sales pressure. Meet my three new family additions.

It is obvious when someone cares. They don't have 1 filter for 20 tanks. They do have a large number of tanks and each one is well maintained with very healthy sealife inside. They also have plenty of accessories, and equipment. Well worth the stop!

Just sharing my experience.Pro: pretty fishCon : if they die regardless of time frame, you lose out on your moneyYes, they have cool fish, but don’t purchase there unless you’re willing to take the loss.( PetSmart & Petco have fish return policy.)One person who helped me told me the Danio was compatible with Betta. Not! It was nipping the Betta fish they sold me, so I returned him to store. No refund or discount, so lost cost of fish.Their Betta that I paid $9 for was emanciated (according to Betta FB page). I spent a lot of money trying to rehab him, since they don’t take returns, refund, or credit. He died a month later.Once I I went when they opened store. I saw a lot of dead fish in tanks. I should have walked out, but didn’t, because I trusted them since they have been in business a long time & maintain large tanks for several offices.Well 2 days later one of the green endlers died & one of the 2 Kuhli loaches was not doing well. They said there is nothing they can do since they cannot know how long they were in the bag & my tank parameters.

This is a family owned business with a decent selection of fresh and salt water fish along with a betta section and a cute turtle habitat. They also have live rock, cheato and a snail selection for both salt and fresh. We are long time customers with them and we appreciate every piece of advice given to us. They are involved with their customers and need to know specifics about the setup to really know how to help you. They go more in depth than a Petco or Petsmart and you can be sure that they are setting you up for long term success. Marie, Matthew, Stacy, Cherise, Jeremy and the young boy are a great team! We love Sea Life Apopka!

A hidden gem in Apopka for tropical and saltwater fishes and supplies. Don't let the small entrance fool you. There are a lot of species to choose from at competitive prices. Staff seem knowledgeable about what they sell. This is important so that you are well informed about what you are buying. Their location could use a larger space to better display their merchandise and accommodate more than 5 customers. Other than that, you are in for a treat when you visit.

I visited this store twice. The first time, I was impressed by customer service I received and was really happy with my experience. When I returned a second time to have my water tested, I had a completely different experience. The older couple who works there was incredibly rude to me. They teased me over the state of my water, called me names, and generally made me feel unwelcome.I took the time to send an email through the store's website to let them know about the what went on within the store. I received a response a few days later that only said they were sorry I had a bad experience. There was no indication that anything would change, so I won't be going back anytime soon.

This is a small shop that is packed with so many amazing options! The staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Just in conversation with the lady, she was able to educate me on feeding routines, water changes and how to introduce new fish to my aquarium. I will definitely be back!

It's your typical mom and pop store. Staff is great and does make you feel like you belong. I tend to support the smaller store fronts more than the large chain stores which is why I like going here.They don't have the largest selection of saltwater fish or corals but do have a good variety. If there is something in particular you want, they'll order it for you.Great place all around.

A wonderful shopping experience - Sea Life is a true hidden gem.I wanted to set up a small planted freshwater tank for my desk, and besides a few Google searches, I had no idea what I was doing. A deeply knowledgeable employee walked me through the entire process, making suggestions and giving me tips the whole way. I took up more than an hour of his time - he was more than patient, I really felt he was excited about my project and enjoyed helping me figure out exactly what I wanted.Their prices are excellent - the same or better than Amazon or a big box store. That said, I'm certain that I spent MUCH less than I would have if I didn't have an expert guiding me, explaining what I needed and what I didn't, which cheaper parts would work fine, and which pricier models are worth the extra investment. They don't work on commission, their priority was clearly my best interest.Less than $250 later, I have a beautiful planted tank, and even better, I know exactly where to go if I have any questions.I can't recommend Sea Life highly enough. Thanks, guys! I'll be back!
