We were looking for an address and we arrived there by chance and although I don't believe in coincidences, there is nothing better than getting there. a cozy place, merchandise from a town pharmacy, fresh food, a clean butcher shop with no bad smells, good prices and several employees in each department. I am glad to know that there are more options to go shopping without tension

Their meat department could improve upon their customer service. If you want something they don't already have cut they're not happy to help. And if you just want a portion of a large chunk of meat they act like they can't just cut what you want. After this happening multiple times and leaving without, I won't try again. Sweet Meat Butcher Shop, however, is HAPPY to cut meat to my needs!

Pretty basic food shopping experience. It felt dirty and selection was not expansive.Bathroom was also dirty. Like really gross. I don’t think it was ever cleaned.Gave them an extra star for keeping a rare Norwegian brown cheese in stock. It’s the same brand that others carry but it’s still impressive.It was easy to find employees to find things.

This place looks run down. In general the vibe is that of a store that broke people go to for, deals. However, so far I haven't found that the prices justify this reputation. Name Brand items are slightly higher priced & generics are about the same price, (compared to the big box stores).

Was there this morning and there were no carts. I mentioned it to the young lady in customer service and grabbed a basket. By the time I got to the meat the basket was too heavy to carry. I saw a young man walking down the freezers isle and asked him where were the carts? He said probably outside. I told him I really needed one. He turned around went towards the front (I’m thinking he’s going to get carts). I pushed my basket on the floor with my feet. About five minutes later walked up front to see if he had retrieved the carts. I go up front and he was standing doing nothing. I asked him if he had gotten any carts he said no. I asked him for the manager, he then walked over to a register and started bagging groceries. I then asked CS to call the manager and waited a few minutes before I decided to leave and spen my money at a convenient location—PUBLIX.

I appreciate their online food delivery service very much! There is no upcharge or delivery fee. Of course, I always tip the delivery person. They deliver in the store truck, not a personal vehicle, which I like. Hitchcock's Delivery is Top Notch; even when there is a problem, they make it right.

Let the buyer beware - they keep expired milk on the shelves and won’t make it right without a receipt (something Publix will do, no questions asked). I go here only to buy local milk and coffee I can’t get at Publix, and when I was sold sour milk and didn’t keep the receipt I wasn’t able to exchange. It’s kinda gross inside and never really a pleasant experience but they have the milk you otherwise would have to go all the way to Ward’s to buy.

I went to the deli to get shaved ham. The person who was helping sad he couldn't do it. This is as thin as it gets and then ate the piece of ham. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!! I had not eaten all day. HOW COULD HE.

The prices are much higher than Publix and there are daily occurrences of people being charged higher prices at the register

My experience is a mixed. I only stop there to get breakfast or lunch from time to time. Most of the team is pleasant. But the one little lady that puts out the food and sometimes behind the counter fixing plates seems to be angry all the time. Other than her, the food is good, and it's fairly quick.

I grew up in Alachua and Definitely grew up going to Hitchcock's and whoever has been running it for the last IDK 8+ years doesn't know what they're doing. As soon as you walk in you get this rotten smell..There are flies dead in the freezers and coolers. I've gotten ice cream that was noticeably thawed and refrozen again. I've witnessed corporate people degrade employees. This grocery store is going down! IF YOUR READING THIS REVIEW DO NOT BUY MEAT OR DAIRY!

The restroom looks remodeled and very nice! Might need a little better mopping. Clean and well stocked store. I like the sale and special items by the entrance door too.

Always go to store when I make a doctor visit, as it is not local to me. Fried livers/gizzards from deli are my husband's favorites. This store is the poor man's Publix. Excellent meat and vegetable departments with mostly local farmer's products. They make their own sausage. They will custom cut for you. In the middle of remodeling added a fresh seafood case now. All this comes with polite and professional services at a great price!! Wish I had this store in my town. Just to emphasize GREAT PRICES.....

Aesthetically looking organized and clean. Definitely could use some strong leadership. No sun dried tomatoes anywhere to be found, and the staff isn’t sure what they have when you ask for help. Was overcharged for items that were marked down and told “that’s just the way it rings up”.

A neighborhood favorite. Conveniently located off 441 Hitchcock's is full of savings, great variety of produce and most importantly friendly helpful staff! It's my local and love it for their butchery and fruits and veggies.
