I was very nervous to bring my puppy to a new vet. His usual vet is down in Orlando but driving 2 hours for visits isn’t always convenient or easy. I drove by Hilltop one day & thought it looked like a very nice facility. Within the next few days I had to make an unexpected appointment, so I scheduled with Hilltop. The facility is nice, clean, & the staff are very friendly. Cat (at the front desk) made me feel SO comfortable throughout the entire experience. She was very compassionate & understanding, & super sweet with my puppy. I will definitely keep Hilltop as my local vet.

We started coming to Hilltop several vets and a building ago. As a licensed vet tech for many years, I don’t go to vet for every little thing, and the equine vet does routine tests and shots for the dogs at home, but we have a new puppy, and had been in for puppy checks twice. But, when I called with a sick puppy, despite there web ads promoting urgent care availability, they could not see us. They were to booked and could not do a drop off because all the puppy vaccines were not yet finished. They did not offer for me to come and just wait with her. They did not offer any suggestions on where to take her. I have worked for many different vets and I can’t think of one that would not figure out how to get a sick puppy seen.We found another regular vet that fit us in right away. They were great and we have switched to their practice.

Hilltop Family Vet has always gone above and beyond to ensure that every animal we bring in is always treated with dignity, respect, and compassion as they receive the best veterinary care. We have been clients for ten years and we are delighted with Hilltop! They have given our 14 year old cat the very best care. Everyone is friendly and caring, and very efficient. It is easy to get an appointment and we can count on being seen on time. Dr. Floyd is the best. She’s very thorough and has such great rapport with our cat that vet visits aren’t traumatic for her!

Amazing prices and amazing staff, everyone is so welcoming. Took my dog for his first ever vet visit and now he loves the vets, they do everything they can to make you and your fur baby welcome. They contacted me as soon as they found any issues and talked me through the next steps of his treatment, even found me the best prices for medication. 1000/10 will recommend to more people.

Everyone there was nice happy employees.Vet was outstanding and took time to talk to my daughter about Ms Piggy and etc and went above and beyond to answer any concerns. Dr. Thomas is absolutely fantastic! We are incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful avian vet in the area. She is always so knowledgeable and compassionate, always taking time to talk to me about my birds. I always know my flock of parrots are in the best hands possible when they go to see her. I don’t trust my birds with anyone else!

I brought my precious Ruby to see Dr. Thomas for the first time after relocating from Pennsylvania. I’ve had heard wonderful things about her and now I can certainly understand why. She took her time to not only explain everything she considered important about my almost 2 year old Solomon Island eclectus, but most importantly she took her time to truly listen to my concerns. It was also beautiful to see the care and compassion she showed Ruby as she examined her; for me this was priceless. Despite needing to use a towel as it’s normal with all the birds Dr. Thomas and her wonderful assistant made Ruby feel so comfortable that she never squawked. I would definitely recommend Dr. Thomas and her team in a heartbeat!!!!

We had a chicken with a nasty neck wound from a raccoon attack. Dr. Thomas was able to do a great job in disenfecting the wound and getting our hen back with her flock in short order. What a great group to work with, especially involving exotic animals!

We have been using Hilltop for our dogs needs for a few years and have never had a problem and always enjoyed our visit. The doctors and technicians were very fluent in canine care. They always fully explained their concerns and provide options for treatment. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a vet who cares.

Vet services were friendly, professional and compassionate. We took our feline friend in for what we thought would be gum disease diagnosis. Vet Laurie told us what it could likely be. It was a word that no one wants to hear for a loved one. I appreciate how the vet was matter of fact, making it easier for me to not be overcome with emotion at the time. I was able to listen and think clearly as we discussed options. The visit was efficient, which the feline really appreciated, and we left with a plan of action. Thank you Hilltop.

We just moved to Gainesville and this was one of the vet practices recommended to me for my rabbits. Scheduling was easy, the front desk was friendly and check in and check out was easy. Both veterinarians I saw were excellent and explained everything throughout my visit. I received an email with test results with a thorough explanation. The prices were reasonable especially for an exotic pet. I will continue to bring my bunnies here as well as my dogs and gecko. Highly recommend!

Dr. Hill and the entire staff at Hilltop are excellent with my four dogs. They are always so kind, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional every time I visit. I am also a very obsessive and overbearing dog mom, and they don't treat me like I'm a crazy lady, which I appreciate. They are open to discussion when I have thoughts on treatment, and they give great feedback. They approach each pet individually, and I appreciate how the doctors frequently collaborate when developing care plans. I won't be going anywhere else!

They were great I called in frantic and they gave me multiple options as well a very large grace period to get there. They treated my puppy 🐶 fairly quickly. They were so freaking nice to him and and his family/us. They were thorough and just all around good people. Only thing I would change about my experience is the high prices.

So I've debating putting this, but here it goes... I brought my dog in because it got bit by a snake. Then the vet (tall big guy) quoted me an outragous price. I asked if he could do anything to lower it, then he literally said you shouldn't have a dog if you can't afford the procedure. He was extremely rude.I love my dog very much and take good care of her. I dont need guilt trips in order to manipulate me to pay their overpriced fees.I went to alachua animal hospital, got a good price and respect. Don't go to hill top everyone. I've never felt so disrespected in my life by a vet.

Dr. Thomas is the vet I trust the most with my bunny. She is thorough with her exams, takes her time, is very knowledgeable about buns, and really cares about your baby. She also does a great job at explaining.

Its quite rare to have an avian/exotic vet so close by. They handled my scared parrot with love and care. My vet really listened to all of my concerns and allowed us to come up with a game plan for all her future care.In the recent past I came here for an emergency for my cat when I accidentally applied dog flea/tick to him( NEVER make this mistake on cats) and they did everything in their power to keep him alive , even so far as referring me to a more equipped facility to handle my cats care when they did all they could there. Not many places would do that, and I appreciate them not letting their ego risk the life of my cat. My trauma cat is still alive thanks to them!!!!. I am so immensely grateful for for everything Hilltop has done for me and my pets. I will always come here because its not only close to my house, fair in rates, provide excellent care and even sent get well cards/ follow up call to me for my cat. Thank you Hilltop!!!!

I am sharing my Mother’s review of Hilltop Family Vet, because she has been VERY happy with all the care of her very sick fur baby, Kevin, has been given by the entire staff over the last several months. Dr. Michelle Floyd has been very thoughtful and caring towards my Mother, and has taken excellent care of her fur baby!!! Dr. Floyd has a great staff as well! All the receptionists,-Bree, Echo, and Alyssa have been great. The techs- Josh, Ben, Rebekah, Alissa, and Mel are great with the animals, as are the kennel techs Justin and Garrett. I would highly recommend Dr. Floyd, manager-Georgia, and the entire team to take care of any of our fur babies in the future! PS- and yes my Mother knows everyone there by name!

In an emergency when my fur baby wasn’t doing well you all remained calm and explained everything that happening and going to happen. I was at ease even in a difficult time. You are not our regular vet but was able to get us in on short notice which made the difference in treatment and recovery. And it didn’t matter that we weren’t regular patients. Thanks for caring for our pets and their people!
