This store is constantly closed early well before the posted time. Just drove all the way there arrived at 9:15pm to find that it's closed and blocked off. Tried to call and phone is off the hook. There is vehicles there so employees but no one actually serving customers. This isnt the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Always under staffed. Extremely slow with customer service. Very limited inventory. Store is cluttered and messy with unstocked inventory. Just terrible. Dollar General, what you put the few employees you do have through, absolutely terrible. The few staff you have are great. Get it together Dollar General. Do better as a company. Shame.

The people in this store are especially wonderful! I left an item on the carousel and by the time I got home and called they already had it put aside. When I called they were as sweet and accommodating as could be and, essentially, I can get it whenever it's convenient for Me.As far as saving money, you just need to be careful with what you buy, but you can save money on the staples and home/auto products.

The music is played by a single speaker on one side of the store and every time your on that side of the store it is really loud. I wish they would update the system to play through some other system. Store is typically pretty messy as well. However, customer service is pretty good!

The store itself has a wide variety of items, and I cannot remember a time that I have been there and was unable to find what I was looking for. It is well organized and clean. However, there is a consistent issue with lack of staff. Their turnover rate is very high, and more times than not you are stuck in line at the register because only one person is working up front.

The last two times I was here, the cashiers were unnecessarily rude with customers. Two different cashiers, one was rude to a little old lady bc she was taking too long. One with me bc I didn't immediately answered her debit or credit question. Which as it turns out she didn't even need to know bc I was able to complete my transaction while she waited for my answer.

The store is an older building. There is stuff EVERYWHERE. It is hard to figure out which section your looking for because it feels as though they have a little of everything in every isle. Now it could be the size of the store is smaller than the newer buildings. The staff was very pleasant.

They were completely out of balloons and according to the cashier, they had been for a while. The cashier himself seemed to be a bit irritated with his job or maybe frustrations spewed over from home into the workplace. I ended up finding some Eucalyptus candles and they were beyond my expectations. I'm only so upset because I needed the balloons for my friend's birthday and wasn't able to get them here. I was inconvenienced by having to find another store. Please get it together DG❗

It's Dollar General. If you've never been to one, they have some food, snacks, and candy, medicines, cosmetics, paper products, cleaning supplies, household items, gardening stuff, pet stuff, some clothes and shoes, and toys. A little bit of everything. You might find some great stuff, but they don't have everything. Not as big as a drug store like Walgreens, but a lot of things are much cheaper than regular stores.

Some things are gr8 deals at DG. Mixed nuts, chips (their brand) cleaning supplies, soaps. Can usually get in and out pretty quick. Some canned goods are good deals too.

Too busy for one staff member. Waited 15 minutes to check out. Not the cashiers fault, just too many people. She was real nice and calm.

Pay attention to the size of the packaging. Most of the items you buy are per ounce. Of course, toilet paper can be tricky. If you are buying something like socks, you may want to figure out which ones are your favorite type first, then find the price per pair. Even buying a quart of oil can be tricky because places will change the bulk sizes and you'll think you're getting a good deal when you're actually getting less than you think. (4 vs 5 quart bottles) Keep the information on shopping on your phone's notepad or pickup a notepad and write items, with unit and price breakdowns. It's a good hobby to save money.

The store has so many items that can be selected, paid for and you're done. The only thing I would suggest is that when shipments come in keep them in the back and don't crowd the aisles.

My favorite store used to be the Dollar Tree but I started working at Dollar General as a merchandiser and looked around and saw all the great products they have at a low price staff is friendly and the location is great for both Alachua residents and High Springs

How a store gets worse after moving to a brand new location, I haven't the foggiest. The store has dropped 40% of its standard stock in favor of an expanded home goods section, that doesn't have most of its stock displayed. This store is in desperate need of a change in management.

Rude manager, rude cashier and so much junk in the isles it’s impossible to shop and get a cart through their mess. It’s all the time and not just during stocking! I literally had to lift the back end of my cart to squeeze through on 3 isles.

absolute AWFUL customer service experience today ~11am. This NASTY girl yells at a little old lady then jumps down my throat. Cashier-Wearing a mask. Needs very, very serious coaching/training about how 2 treat people.

The Alachua Dollar general isn't great, but it's open late which makes it very convenient. You can get Most necessities here but most things are overpriced. However, it's nice to have the option to come here if you are desperate for something and don't want to drive to Walmart in Gainesville.

I called to check stock and was told they had the item I was looking for, I drove from high springs and when I arrived I was told they did not have any in stock at all. Not helpful, very disappointing.

Very pleasant, I left my purse in the store and the lady ask who's bill fold a man said it was his he would have kept it she told him you gonna pay my bills if I get fired, he answered well, I thank her need more people like her, in Alachua, Florida.

Nice people that work here, but don't come if you are in a hurry. Lots of people shop here so they are all ways busy.
