This pharmacy sucks! The fact that the reviews are this terrible tells you how much they care about customers. EVERY TIME I have to get a prescription filled here there is a problem. Don't even think about calling. You will NOT speak to a person. The drive through is just as bad. The customer service is down right shameful! I'm changing my pharmacy today! Just wanted others to know what they'll be signing up for.

For the past 8 months the new store manager and all of the new staff have done their best to give outstanding customer service, cleanliness all around the store, keeping shelves stocked (especially when there are sales!!), resolve issues in the front part of the store as well as the pharmacy & help them with their lines when they get backed up. I’ve had nothing but friendly experiences!! They are giving this store a complete 180 and I hope you stop by to experience this!! The pharmacy and front store have hundreds to thousands of people weekly who come through compared to the 3-6 people at times running an entire store front to back. Please be patient with them as they are patient in what they try to accomplish daily!! At times there are unfortunately situations that are out of staffs hands. 💕

Crystal is the best person to come to for customer service! She went above and beyond from the time I walked into the door all the way to checkout. Guided me to everything on my list and even found me some coupons! Go visit Crystal and her team at CVS in Alachua. You won't be disappointed!

TL:DR version: Due to this pharmacy causing insurance issues they cannot fix (meaning I have to pay out of pocket for medications instead of using my insurance) and being understaffed, I can't recommend this location.Details:In December, this CVS automatically filled one of my medications. I never picked it up because I still had medication left, so it got returned to stock. Early January I decided to switch to Publix Pharmacy because it would be more convenient and I had some minor issues with this CVS that made me want to switch pharmacies once my prescription plan changed this year. I requested to refill that medication at Publix because I actually need the medication now, and they told me my insurance said I filled it in December and won't cover it. I can see the claim on my insurance, so I called CVS to have them reverse it. They said they have no record of the claim, could not reverse it and to call my insurance company. So I called my insurance company who said that they can't reverse claims from outside pharmacies such as CVS, that CVS needs to do it. My insurance company confirmed they could see the claim and that it was sent from this specific CVS. So I called CVS back, there was nothing they could do because somehow it's not in their system. They said they were going to transfer it to the CVS help desk but I am not sure if that will result in anything. This got so frustrating, that I'm just going to end up paying out of pocket for it at Publix Pharmacy because I don't want to have to deal with it anymore and I need the medication. Luckily, it's going to be $14 for a 90 day supply….. But still, if this didn't happen I wouldn't have to pay anything (or very little) for this medication.I used to work at a local clinic and a large part of my job was calling various pharmacies to work out patients' medication issues. I know for a fact that this SAME EXACT thing happened at another CVS in Gainesville, and that that CVS was able to fix the problem. To make matters worse, they were understaffed today so all calls were going directly to voicemail meaning a game of phone tag.I feel bad for the employees at this location. The woman on the phone was kind, but honestly did not have the time because she was one of two employees there.

Picked up one of two prescriptions. Was told that it'd be an hour before the second prescription would be ready, that they just received it. DON'T BELIEVE THAT FOR ONE SECOND. Why would the same doctor send the second prescription at a different time. I believe that I was lied to. I live too far from pharmacy to return in an hour with my 88 year old husband. UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE, YET AGAIN!!!

The worst pharmacy I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Condescending staff, lost prescriptions, new prescriptions being put on hold status without notice simply because they fail to verify with the prescriber that it's to accompany existing dosage. Three weeks' delay in starting a new dosage because they put it on hold instead of filling and dispensing. And in one call I was told first there was no prescription, then told they were out of the medication & would have to reorder, then told that *I* would need to call around to other locations to see if they had my medication in stock, then told it was put on hold although it was time to fill as of the following day, then told it would be put BACK on hold, only to receive a text 2 minutes AFTER closing that my prescription was ready. The pharmacy needs an entirely new staff and management..

I Have used CVS pharmacies for years. This one in Alachua has made it where I will NEVER use again- poor customer service, rude behavior- cancelling my prescription and then being rude about it. Being very condescending when communication my price.... which I can Pay fine- 20 year customer and this location has made me switch pharmacies....

The absolute worst pharmacy I’ve ever encountered. They ABSOLUTELY do not pick up the phone, every time I call I’m on hold for at least 30 minutes before I just give up and end the call. I have stood in a line of 6 people for 20 minutes and there are 3 staff back there just letting the phone ring (but also in no rush to help the people in line). Also the staff is the most unhappy looking staff I think I have ever seen. It definitely shows with their customer service as well.

Don’t fill your prescription here they are a joke! I had oral surgery yesterday and never had a problem with getting anything filled anywhere else but chose this CVS because it was the nearest pharmacy to my house and it’s the next day and I still don’t have my pain medicine, over the counter is not working and I’ve been in pain for the last 24 hours. 30 minutes on hold to just hang up and go in person and be told they won’t be ready for the next couple hours. I’ll be going someone else to get it filled from now on.

This is the worst pharmacy I’ve even used. My son’s rx was sent over on Tuesday. It’s on “special order” even though it is a very basic and generic medication. Texting service said to call the store to pick up at another location today, but I’ve been unable to get anyone on the phone after calling multiple times and waiting on hold. A family member just picked up another rx right before I called today and the pharmacy and drive through were empty. I find 15 minutes on hold with an empty store completely unacceptable. I will be changing pharmacies. CVS has lost my business.

Great place to buy a birthday card or shampoo but the pharmacy needs more staff so I can't recommend it.. I RARELY get a prescription, so I was surprised that it was not ready many hours later from when it was supposed to be ready. I had to wait to be served despite no one in front of me?Then told as I am paying, that my insurance would not cover it, so I ended up paying cash. Shame really, when your a customer based business, you should try to give them a better experience because your competition will.

I will try to me nice as I can be, but I am very angry! The pharmacy is a joke! I have gone to this CVS a good portion of my life… but the last two years has really sucked! I had to take my son to the ER because I was told his meds would not be done for hours, I come by right before closing after the ER visit and to my surprise they still were not ready. The lady who helped me was extremely rude and didn’t seem to care that my son was in this bad of shape! I took my business to the Jonesville CVS and wow they were amazing!!!

I always have to decide if I need OTC meds bad enough because the staff here are so rude I end up more ill. They do not like to be interrupted from not working to use cash register. Heavily under stocked shelves to get any discounts on two items. Just lose humans and go with self check out.

I have went to CVS on many accounts and have never been treated so poorly as today. I stopped going for a while due to this one very rude inconsiderate man that works as a cashier. I don't use the self check out because every time it locks my card out. AS THIS MAN is leaned on the counter on his phone and has a ear bud in, talking and laughing. I ask do you mind checking me out, he proceeds to sling the gate open and say very RUDE "GET OVER HERE" I called him out on the way he spoke to me instead of apologizing he then replies no I didn't, with total tension in body language at this point he slides my item over the SELF check out and says "there you go" then walks away. I went ahead and finished my transition now on the phone with my bank because of a rude inconsiderate man. Sad that CVS has this many disappointing reviews and it don't seem they are doing anything about it. If there was a chance to give less then one star this CVS would have it....

It is pointless to try and call the pharmacy. Tried to speak to the store manager after the pharmacy had me on hold for 16 minutes. Store manager wasn't available either. Tried calling corporate to complain and guess what... another automated system. Then they have the audacity to tell you that your call is important to them. They couldn't care less if you get your medicine. Wasted an hour of my life trying to speak to a live person then trying to complain about not being able to speak to a live person and STILL never got to speak to a live person. Doesn't sound like my call was important to them at all. If I could give them ZERO stars I would.PATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE.

The staff here is always as friendly as they can be while often having to rush around, especially at the pharmacy. The company does not give this store enough help in the pharmacy or the rest of the store to be very honest. It can make things take longer than ideal but it’s due to no fault of the employees. They are always nice, greet me when I come in, etc.

After a 28 minute hold time calling the pharmacy i called the store manager simultaneous on my other line. To her credit after a 2 minute wait she unapologetically explained that the pharmacy wasn't answering phone calls now, as they were "conducting covid-19 testing and that takes priority" somehow a pharmacy running on reduced hours during a pandemic has decided that nasal swabbing is so difficult they can't spare a single tech or simple employee to answer a phone call about a patients medication. For a test that doesn't even get returned on the same day. The manager suggested that I drive down and sit in the secondary drive through lane or go to the pharmacy in person to enquire about my refill of asthma medicine (not like I'm scamming for pills) rather than have an employee answer the phone, or the most obvious solution of all- maybe the manager should be helping her staff if they're so slammed instead of only answering calls directed at the store managers line. That is what leadership is, and the responsibility that comes with the salary, bonuses, and benefits of your position. Look at your store's atrocious ratings here! For shame!

Called yesterday and was put on hold. Was on hold for a while and decided to drive there, while still on hold. Just for fun I stayed on the phone while in line just to see if they'd pick up. After 37 minutes I finally hung up and was barely helped at the desk. Finally got it taken care of and was told the meds for my sister would be ready the next morning. Neither of us had heard from the pharmacy by 10am, no worries, still the morning.Called again to just check up on them and was put on hold once again for over 30 minutes and was hung up on when someone finally picked up.Currently on hold again and about to drive there again and see if the manager even cares.

This pharmacy is a hot mess. Last time I was in, I had to write down my meds for the clerk who didn't even know the generic for plavix. I told her I needed it for the holiday. Today a different clerk said it wasn't ready. I also needed an OTC that should have been readily available for purchase but apparently was not ordered. Additional questions arose.. If this was just a one off it would be excusable but the problems with customer service are frequent. It is a shame to see a once good pharmacy ruined by corporate decision making, bottom line thinking, and chronic understaffing and turnover. It is sad to see so many bad reviews and a corporate culture that doesn't believe in employee support and professionalism or in customerservice.

The pharmacist needs to find a new job. She did nothing but complain about working too much. She could not dislike her job more and it shows. She is not only rude she antagonizes the customers.

We have been with CVS in Alachua since it opened, but we just kicked them to the curb. On hold for 28 minutes with no interaction with a real person. Wife went for second shingles vaccination and would have been given the pneumonia vaccine (which she has had already) if I had not double checked them. Called today for meds that should have been ready last Friday and was told it would be ready in an hour. Went to pick them up 2 hours later and the pharmacist still had to "verify" the meds. We had never considered leaving them but in the last 3 months their customer service rating is below zero. I had to give a 1 star rating or it wouldn't have let me post the review.

Understaffed with long lines just to drop off, never ready hours after you are told it is ready. We are constantly making multiple trips to pick up RX. Some employees are rude, like it's your fault RX is not ready 4 hours after you were told it would be ready. We are going to switch if we can, I'm afraid my insurance will not allow, but we will try, and will switch even if it costs more at Hitchcocks, Walgreens, or Pubix.

This is the closest pharmacy to me, so I will sometimes have my doctor call in a prescription here... I regret it every time. Hours will go by and they will not answer the phone. You have to beg in person for them to process your prescription.

This store is horrible. Employees come to work and park in the spaces by the front door . The pharmacy is a nightmare. They don't care and they lie about a rx. Called in a refill on Thursday. Told it would be ready at 10:30 AM on Friday. Went by at 2:30 PM. Not ready. Said it would be ready within the hour.Went by Saturday morning still not ready. Had to wait 30 mins to get a rx filled that had been called in two days earlier for a valid refill. The pharmacy staff, RPh and techs coukd care less about the customer. Customer service at the Alachua CVS is non existent.

Rude, rude and more rude. No such thing as customer service in the pharmacy department. I am a healthcare provider and the way I am approached, cut-off in mid sentence and ignored when asking a questions is unprofessional and zero customer service. I always suggest to my patients to go to Walgreens.

This morning I purchased a $12.99 item. After applying a 40% discount and my monthly $10 Carepass , I still owed $1.92. Even the woman checking me out knew it was a scam. Apparently CVS has put their own form of math in place. Walgreens is right across the street.

24 minutes to wait for a pick-up of meds. Rude and unprofessional pharmacy. Who ever runs this department should be fired. I will pay more and go somewhere else. I will never EVER visit this store. I would recommend this to others
