This was my preferred whole foods location because of the 'just walk out' technology. It made grocery's shopping so easy! I don't have a car, and I shopped directly packing into my shopping cart. Now, I will have to estimate what I can fit in my cart, not easy. I wonder if the staff will pack the groceries into the shopping carts?

A little bit confined but efficient. The aisles were akimbo and assumed app and scan setup seemed confusing to me. I haven't shopped there much and followed a friend.Seemed like good traffic and healthy people. No one was rude like in the burbs.Definitely organized for on the go shopping, don't eat in there but decent to go options.

Very cutting-edge store, the first Whole Foods to open with Amazon's Just Walk Out technology. However, the other recent review from a Local Guide has some inaccuracies. You are *not* required to use the Just Walk Out technology. There are traditional self-checkouts if you prefer. When you enter the store, you choose which way you'd like to shop. If you do want to use Just Walk Out (and I recommend it), you do NOT need to be a Prime Member. You can use an in-store code from the Amazon/Whole Foods app, set up palm scanning (Amazon One), or use a credit card.Just Walk Out cuts out so many steps from shopping. You can put things into your bag as you shop, and you don't have to take them out again until you get home. I was so impressed with how well it works, even with complex items like loose bars of soap set out on a table, the self-serve hot bar/salad bar (which is priced by the box here), and the deli. As of November 2023, this store has eliminated the entry gates. You can walk in freely like any other grocery store. When you are ready to check out, you can go to self-checkout, or you can head straight to the Just Walk Out exits, scan your phone/card/palm, and be on your way.The selection here is exactly what you'd expect from any other Whole Foods. It's really impressive how the Just Walk Out technology has been scaled up to a store this size, with such a large selection. The quality is great.I went out of my way to shop here because I'm a fan of the technology. I can't wait for this to come to a neighborhood closer to where I live.

It's a nice grocery store. As a resident of virginian, I usually go to different locations. Today, on my way to work, I stopped to this one. A very neat and clean, well, organized grocery. Big thanks to the wonderful staff.

Really used to like the Just Walk Out feature. But now they removed it for some odd reason. Feels like it’s no longer cutting edge. Still good products for a compact store.

I am crushed that the store got rid of the Just Walk Out technology. My review would have been a 5/5 but when I went to the store today I discovered that there was no more Just Walk Out, there was one person working a checkout register, and the self checkout area was a debacle. The Just Walk Out feature was a huge time saver for parents of young kids and I really, really hope you bring this technology back.

Used to be a great store with cozy atmosphere. Now it is a police station. Almost every time I get locked in and trapped behind their gates that do not work for me. If you want to experience panic and anxiety - this is the place

Other than not having inside seating great location. They do have an odd layout compared to the 50+ other stores I have been in. Seem to be well stocked in most areas but their produce always seems to a time a bit light on the variety

Huge changes! Everything has been automated now since they reopened in February 2022. You don't need to be an Amazon Prime member, but it's optimized for those individuals. You walk in through turnstiles, with your unique member QR Code and then you simply walk around the store pick things up and walk out. No checkout, none. Sensors, really cameras, identify what you picked up and put in your bag. You're charged as you walk out. Your receipt shows up in your email in box. I checked, it was accurate.Again, walk in, pick up what you want, place in your bag, walk out. No checkout! The future is here.Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz

I usually give Whole Food stores a 5 but this one does not have dispensers for plastic utensils like every Whole Foods I've been to had. The dispensers have been proven to save plastic because people use less when items are dispensed one at a time. Instead, there are only packages of utensils which included a knife which I didn't need. This is a BAD corporate decision and I hope they change it soon.

I preferred the old Whole Foods which was very communal but continued to come for the hot bar that is very efficient until today where it is now priced by the pound making almost 2 times as more expensive than before.

This store is great for everything except produce. I buy Organic Girl greens in the claim shell and somehow they get wet at this Whole Foods and they are ruined within a day or two. I had to throw out some that I bought on Saturday the 10th which had an sell by date of the 16th. Not a chance they even got close!Greens must stay dry. I go and get them at the Tenley Whole Foods and they are dry and last through the sell by date. Also, more than once I have had to stand on the front of the cooler case to reach back to get milk from the back of the case.It seems they would have someone adjust things in the case as the inventory goes down. I always look for help but there is no one in sight usually. Once I got lucky and there was a very tall shopper who helped..

I am not a fan of Whole Foods but used to go for lunch where there would be the quick hot bar that was priced by box until it began being priced by pound making it much more expensive. I won’t be buying much more of them in the future seeing the high prices.

Yeah so a store employee literally just screamed at me for walking in the “wrong way.” Like full yelling from halfway across the store. I work in retail and have never had that happen to me, nor seen that happen before. Walked right out.

This WF is so disappointing. Waiting years for it to reopen to be able to walk to the store again. The produce is awful (if any to choose from), stock in general is meh and it’s just not the same at all. Only use it to grab something I might have forgotten now and 9/10 they don’t have it. Wish it would go back to a true place to grocery shop and not just an Amazon drop off location.

I used to love to come to Whole Foods because it was lively with small tasting but since it’s reopening I was a bit disappointed although I continued to come for the hot bar that was quick and easy for meals until the price was determined by pound making it too expensive to continue eating them.

Almost hesitant to give 5 stars, since what I love is how quiet the store is, and how quickly I can get the shopping done. Very efficient shopping, and usually pretty well stocked. Very helpful butcher staff!

Very fancy technology whereby you can simply walk out of the shop by scanning your WF QR code, however the shop is quite poorly stocked. You can't rely on that place for your regular grocery needs. When I want to go to Whole Foods and have more than 1 or 2 items to buy, I usually end up going to the one on P St. NW.

This Brave New Whole Foods reopened without cashiers is intriguing. The food selections are the same, only your checkout experience has changed. Is this our future or just one future? Cameras and sensors from the ceiling detect what customers select from the shelves. Is this a convenience we need? Seems contrary (but a common theme today) where we live in a world with a growing population, yet simultaneously strive to reduce jobs with low skill requirements? In addition to the food you select, Amazon has sufficient data to NOW know if you are right or left handed, what you look like, your height, the clothes you wear, etc... Wonder who owns this data? I do NOT see any benefits here for the customer, only for Amazon/Whole Foods.

Shelves were half empty and produce looked very unfresh. Not to mention, everything overpriced and looking awful and half expired. Would not set foot in this store anymore. Asked to speak to a manager but no one showed up. Such a shame. Really for what they are charging people, they should make more effort to keep the store stocked and put fresh stuff.

Great concept store. You can login with your In-Store Amazon Code and grab all your groceries and walk out. Super crazy.

Layout is a little different as the other WFs, also the size is a little smaller as the others. But it has everything you can find in the other WFs. Super clean!

I love this shop from south bend. Tried it here in Washington, a bit more fancy and I love it.

A good variety of natural, organic and vegan products. There is a hot food and salad buffet and on-site parking.

Removed the “just walk out” technology without any warning or signs before you enter the store. Yet, the cameras are still in the store.

Unlike some others, I actually like the just walk out stuff. What I don't like and REALLY do not understand is WHY the prices on the shelves do not include taxes. New technology, world class but still this old system?? If you have just walk out, people need to be able to calculate their total without being surprised when they get their receipt 2 hours later because some things are taxed at 6% and some at 10% and some 0. It feels like the biggest oversight and my only complaint but a very big one. PLEASE include taxes on price stickers.

Very bad experience in this store. The manager has been extremely impolite and rude with me because of my service dog. He yelled at me to go out, yelling that no dog allowed inside the store. I was so scared ! I am still shaking.Never go there again.

The selection at this WFM is probably the worst I have seen especially in terms of fresh fruits and vegetables. Cut deli meats I’ve bought here went moldy within a couple of days. They did refund me, but it still takes time to go to a store and back. It is possible that both things happened because food turnover is quite low since not so many people come here for groceries.I don’t mind the just walk out feature much, although it does make everything look artificial and a bit creepy.

I never leave reviews, but this store has been struggling for at least a year. Looking for fresh produce? Go somewhere else. I shop at Whole Foods for the produce, and it’s the worst in DC here.Be sure to check the dates on anything perishable. And expect to have half of the items you’re looking for out of stock. This has been my experience at least 10 times so sadly it’s not a fluke. Why keep going? I keep thinking surely they’ll figure it out but it appears that won’t be the case and whatever quality controls Whole Foods has does not apply to this store.

So so store. Not much of a selection. They attempt to automate everything so there’s little staff (or at least knowledge staff), yet prices are higher than ever.
