Nice location, clean and organized. The registers to checkout are upstairs and main shopping is downstairs so not super handicap friendly but still what you expect from a product assortment at Whole Foods. Also found some interesting raisins and almonds here.

Shopping experiences and customer interaction has changed with all the new technology! But I can count on my off days to come here and be very pleased ! I can count on Troy down in he holistic care area to give great advice and keen knowledge on products and overall a vibe! I hope he gets into management. Also my girl the barista with the pretty red hair and welcoming smile. These employees are so refreshing to have. Just wanted to take time to highlight them

Whole Foods at George Washington was a great experience. I found everything I needed, got checked out in less than 2 minutes, hopped on the metro and was back to work in less that 7 minutes

I notice when I come in your store and someone is ringing me up at the register this woman is constantly walking back and forth behind me watching my entire transaction. She’s not helping me and not helping any other customer, just only watching my transaction. From now on when I come into the store when she does this, I’ll video record it and post it here in Google reviews until it stops. Seems and feels like some form of harassment.

Verily, the emporium known as Whole Food in the illustrious vicinity of Foggy Bottom, within the noble district of Washington, D.C., hath proven itself a bastion of security with the presence of a vigilant guardian. Though the cost of goods may give pause to the discerning patron, such is the nature of quality and convenience in this modern age.Behold, the grand assembly of cashiers, akin to mighty banks, stands resolute, augmented by a numbering system devised to expedite the flow of patrons through the hallowed halls. Thus, despite the perennial length of queues, the march of progress is swift and efficient.Of particular note is the bountiful bounty of prepared victuals, arrayed in a sumptuous display at the hot bar, a boon of convenience to those traversing the nearby metro.

I’ve been shopping at the Foggy Bottom Whole Foods for six years because it’s the only real grocery store in the neighborhood, and the best way I can describe it is utterly dysfunctional. If this store were a nation, it would be a failed state. Basic items like half and half are routinely out of stock. The produce is appalling (moldy tomatoes and rotten peppers are the rule rather than the exception). Products are regularly sold beyond their expiration dates. The deli is open arbitrary hours that seem to change based on whenever someone feels like staffing it, and even when it is theoretically open good luck finding someone to help you. And of course, there are the lines; waiting 20 minutes is normal, but waiting 40 is certainly possible on any given day. The root cause of these problems is obvious: neither management nor staff cares one iota about the quality of their work or the customer experience. They simply don’t. Whether you’re trying to purchase from the deli, the bakery or the coffee bar, there’s a sense that you are inconveniencing them; at the cash registers, staff sometimes refuses to speak to you. The consistent level of rudeness is surprising even by DC standards. Still, one could write this off if the store delivered on its mission to provide fresh, high-quality groceries. It doesn’t. Every single shopping trip is a hassle. And the truth is that it’s never going to change, because this store is the only option other than Trader Joe’s (which offers mostly prepared and packaged foods). Given that, there is no reason for me to write this review. You, dear reader, are still going to shop there. Just like me. Still, I feel the need to express the degree to which I find shopping at this location to be a miserable, frustrating and disheartening experience — one that often leaves me thinking about what exactly is wrong with society.May 2023 update: they have given up and completely closed the deli. RIP cold cuts.

I agree with some reviewers that the staff has a “I don’t care” attitude but I also know they are likely over worked, underpaid, and treated particularly poorly at least once a day by a customer. As far as the contents of the store goes, they normally have a wide variety of delicious foods. I recently purchased salmon and avocado sushi (my FAVORITE) but was slightly disappointed to find that they didn’t have any with spicy mayo sauce. The prices on the sushi differed widely. I bought a 9 piece salmon & avocado roll for $10 when an 8 piece was going for $12- maybe mine was older? Idk.Oh and I absolutely ADORE their raspberry cupcakes!! Be sure to get one if you can! (Even if you don’t normally like Whole Food’s cake- you’re going to love this one!!”)

I think it's great to have a supermarket across the street from the Foggy Bottom Metro. I usually get something in the bakery before heading for home when I'm in the area. Today I met a friend for coffee before going to the nearby Textile Museum. I got there first and didn't have a problem getting a cup of coffee. My friend came later, stood on line for fifteen minutes to get a cup of decaf, and refuses to go back. If you have the time, coffee and the choice of so many good pastries is a good deal. If you're in a rush, go somewhere else and pay twice as much.

The rudest people work here.Every time I go, my mood is ruined by the workers that are just so rude. Had this older lady in a head cover scream at me. She’s the only one. Can’t blame them, though, as it’s probably the management that treats them this way.In this prism, I’ve got to say this:Dear Whole Foods I St Management,In case that your company provides you with team building opportunities and leadership enhancement trainings, I recommend you to have a short field trip to Trader Joe’s that is 10 minutes away and see the employee ethics there and maybe learn something from them.

I love how fully stocked this Whole Foods always is, which is the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. Young lady who worked the customer service desk on 1/12/2024 at 5:30pm should perhaps be given a different job, she did NOT want to be there. I came in to inquire about returning an item that I had delivered from Whole Foods (not Amazon fresh) via Amazon. At first she said I can’t do it unless I have a paper receipt, then she said she can’t do anything because it was through Amazon and I need to call them first. After a google search I understand what she was trying to say but she could have explained it better and with less attitude. I gave up on returning the item and said I would just keep it but I was holding a heavy water case and I ended up also picking up the correct replacement for the item I came to return. When I asked her if there’s any way I could just check out with her since it’s only 2 items she said no at first. I explained that the water case was heavy and it would really help me if I could check out here and she finally agreed to help me check out but of course she had to let me know that that’s not her job right now but she will help me just this time. Overall felt like I was begging this woman to do her job. For someone working customer service she really wasn’t in the mood to service any customers. Disappointing.

far the dirtiest whole foods store that I've ever been in. Some of their staff seem to have an "I don't care" attitude. After shopping, I stood in the coffee line for 15 minutes before I was waiting on by the only attendant working who made the following comment to another customer "there needs to be three people working at the coffee stand at all times". A new management team is suggested for this place, I will not return.

Known for its high-quality organic produce and sustainable products, Whole Foods is a haven for health-conscious shoppers. Despite being a bit pricier, the wide range of options and excellent customer service make it worth it.

The payment line is long and confusing. Whole Foods should learn from Trader Joe’s in this respect. I saw people giving up and leaving.

It had been years since I'd visited one and was new to self-ordering the food. But, the experience was easier than I expected, and the sandwich was great! 😊

This place is a dystopian nightmare. They fired all the cashiers, so now you have to do someone else's job and ring up items yourself. No cash is accepted, so poor/homeless people can't get food. Cans of soup are $5, because Jeff Bezos needs another aircraft-carrier-sized yacht. Never coming back again.

This is my first time in this Whole Foods. Being a downtown store I didnt expect much but was totally blown away by the 2 levels and the genius use of space.Im sure you'd be able to find everything you want and need at this location. Looking for something? Ask a team member and not only do they tell you where it is but will personally guide you to it.I ordered a tall stack of pancakes, pork bacon and .5 liter water. It was pretty good for $8.58.

Very busy location. Long lines. The store has two floors. Stairs down is automatic. Stairs up are not. Should id be opposite? Good quality of produce as usual.

I'm stuned a whole food with a line wrapping around the store? Are you kidding me unreal. Never again to this very sad of an excuse to have this hanging. Can see the line on one side of the store and registers on the other. Freak show.

Small whole foods at GWU. Lots of ready made food/ hotbar. Small regular grocery downstairs, has all the basics. Lots of self checkouts, few full service. Easy Amazon pickup and drop off.

A busy grocery store in the heart of Foggy Bottom. This Whole Foods is on the smaller size with most of the primary groceries on the lower level. There’s elevators and escalators so it’s easy to go between floors. The store can get very busy during peak hours so be prepared for a line. The prepared food section is usually pretty good and their pizza chefs are well trained. The top floor is a little narrow so keep that in mind if you’ve got a companion in a wheel chair. The staff is friendly and helpful. The fishmongers are also on hand with a good recommendation. Overall it’s a good grocery store.

The store is okay, but the customer service makes me think twice about duping at this location. My most recent experience with Swathai was so bad that I won't be shopping at this location any longer.

The stock is usually low and the lines are incredibly long. Going early in the morning is a must if you want a full selection of products. The hot food area is alright, and the pizza has been severely downgraded since they switched from the firewood oven to the electric one. The burgers are the best deal! The junior burger (one patty) is around $5 with tax. You can order these from the kiosks at the back and won't have to wait in line since you can pay right away.

The drink I ordered was carefully prepared by an attentive barista, Tommy. I like when I’m offered other add-ons that I wouldn’t otherwise think about. My drink was delicious, thanks to Tommy who was helpful and professional.

We went here for some lunch while visiting DC. It was OK. I'd say it was too expensive considering you serve yourself.
