Useful location, and the checkout staff is always super friendly. However, getting assistance elsewhere in the store is time-consuming -- the other day we needed to wait about 15 minutes to get the toothpaste unlocked (while other items that were more than 4 times the cost were sitting available on shelves). They also have trouble keeping some items in stock -- recently they were all out of milk, and another day they didn't have any Kleenex.

Wow! This Walgreens is actually kind of scary! There is a heavily armed, bullet proof vested guard at the door. It's at least two stories, you enter at street level and then you can go down for more shopping, but I got my drink and got out as fast as possible.The area is in Chinatown, but it's like you walk into a strange, drugged out twilight zone once you go under the gateway into the area. So many people shouting and yelling and running through the streets. I doubt I would ever go back to this area let alone this Walgreens.

I’m no great fan of chain pharmacies in general, and this Walgreens location is not remotely convenient to where I live now. But I go through a monthly gauntlet of interminable hold music trying to find pharmacies that gave my medication in stock, and this Walgreens is where I go when all the other pharmacies have failed me. When I’m at the very end of my rope, tired of the bureaucracy and the system and frustrated after hours on hold, I’m wildly grateful for their pharmacy’s prompt, no-nonsense professionalism. I never learned the names of the women that I spoke to both on the phone and at the counter today and in prior months, but I sincerely appreciate their help. I have and will continue to drive more than an hour to this Walgreens because they have come through for me more often than any other pharmacy.

Unbelievably incompetent pharmacy staff named Crystal did not know how to pull my profile from another Walgreens location and rudely argued with me about it. Did not believe me until I called my home pharmacy Walgreens and had them on the phone, then refused to talk to them. Took me hours and multiple trips to fill a prescription. Ridiculous rude incompetent.

This area has become so dangerous and uncomfortable to even go to. My last experience here started with just the walk to the store. First, I was approached by an individual selling merchandise he had stolen from walgreens, he was not shy about making this claim. Then I had to pass by a group of folks smoking weed and acting all crazy right before the entrance, I have no problem with marijuana but theres a time and place for this and its not on the streets of 7th st! Then there’s a bunch of homeless people camped out of the walgreens, one guy was just twitching and making odd/loud noises, another was sprawled out on the ground in front of the doors. Then after getting inside there was some kind of commotion, people yelling/shouting and being escorted out of the store. Craziness! I ended up leaving and will never return!

Not safe. There are regular attempted robberies, rampant shoplifting, and altercations between security guards and thieves at this location. Today somebody got shot trying to take a security guard’s gun… don’t come here!

Called in my prescription, the pharmacist said they didn't see it, so I placed my order at the counter with the pharmacist (Victor) he said it will be about 30-40 min.. 30 min passed and he brought my prescription only it was the wrong 1. Then told me I'd have to wait another 30-40 min. . don't come here

Went there to pick up my order. It took more than 30+ minutes for them checking my order. In the end, they started to pack some of the items I ordered, telling me that they would refund what were missing, however I have never received the refund.

I was sprayed in the eyes near the escalators inside this Walgreens location with pepper spray or mace. The pharmacists and employees at this location were very assistive with my prescription for Benadryl due to sleeping outside and excessive mosquito bites.A subsequent visit to Howard University Emergency was required via D.C. public bus that travels north and south on 7th Street NW.

This has to be the worst Walgreens in the city. Employees are rude and unprofessional. My suggestion to Walgreens if they don’t care about the jobs ! Why not find some people that do. Just down right ignorant forNo reason at all.

If I could give less than one start, I would. This Walgreens has become terrible. They are always out of stuff and most recenlty the freezer downstairs was broken and I could not buy frozen items or ice cream. Security is a joke there as well. Also, the customer service really sucks since the cashiers are always rude and not paying attention. I think the fact that other convenience stores in the area are gone, that has caused this Walgreens to become worse.

I purchased a phone charger that did NOT work. When returning with the product and receipt just minutes later they refused to take it back after I stated it didn’t work, with them claiming they don’t take back faulty products… Will never be going to another Walgreens. 👎🏽

Good location for Wallgreens in Chinatown especially if you work close by and you need a quick snack or soft drink or a quick pharmacy item instead of hitting the grocery store on your way home. It does get busy at times and you do sometimes run into some interesting characters (its next to one of the largest Metro Stations in DC). It's pretty large for a Wallgreens in downtown though.

If I could give zero star, I would. The pharmacy personnel are rude. They are the slowest people that I have seen serving customers. I escalated the matter to Pharmacy Manager, Victor. He came to speak with me with an attitude and offered no help other than repeating what I have been told many times - we are working on your prescription. People who do not like serving others should not be employed at pharmacies.

I was there on Monday March 13 2023 around 9 am. I have been coming there for about 5 years to get my prescriptions filled. From time to time I encounter bad customer service from them, but nothing tops today. I have not been feeling well so I decided to stop in there and get some meds and I waited in line for almost 10 minutes. I approached the lady at the register and we both said good morning like normal. I placed my things on the counter and she asked me was I picking up meds today. I said no and she looked at me and said well this is reserved for people picking up meds. I said excuse me and she just kept going on and on. I was also going on and on because that is not good customer service skills. You should never turn any paying customer away. My products came from downstairs so it would make no sense to tote it all the way upstairs when the register is right there. I left the products right on the counter. I saw a manager as I was leaving and I told her what happened and she walked over with me. She said that I should not have been denied. The manager for the downstairs had to the nerve to lie and said that I was never told that, but why I would be upset if I was never told that. She said I was being hostile, but in fact I should have never been told that in the first place. All she had to do was just ring me up that's it that's all!!! They have lost me as a customer. I also noticed that they only have a 2.8 star rating and now I see why. SMH

This store location I am not pleased with the customer service and the atmosphere lately. There have been several disturbances inside the store between customers and employees, and customers and security.One incident involved the customer throwing merchandise all over the store.Another incident involved a man in a wheelchair getting out of his wheelchair and throwing it at the security guard.One escalator is always out of service.On sale items are not available.Clearance items don't ring up the correct price.The candy isle is always blocked with boxes and containers.They don't give you rain checks when you request one.I just don't go there any more!

Has everything one can ask for, just beware there are no signs where the products are to know which floor they are on. Other than that, it’s a smooth in and out. I got my Dr Pepper and was off!

I placed an order on their photo center and it was supposed to be ready this morning, it wasn't. I called their customer service number and they had to resubmit my order 3 times. I finally got the notification that it was ready, I show up, it wasn't ready. The girl was unprofessional, took forever, and the worst part was that when I returned home she was missing 20+ of my photos. Worst service ever. I don't know why they have that representative working the photo station. She clearly doesn't want to be there and it shows.

This Walgreen location had really changed! There are younger people working and joking at the same tìme. There is too much horseplaying by the cashiers.The store is unorganized and merchandise is in the wrong place.The refrigeration section downstairs was completely empty. The no longer have the hand basket with wheels. There was no one working downstairs to assist you. They don't have enough on sale items available for buy one get the 2nd one half offChristmas items only 40% off.Its not my favorite go to store any more.

Employees discussed Red Bull flavors while I was waiting in front of them and a line of seven people at the Pharmacy. I was waiting on them to process my insurance and it turns out after 30 minutes, it was due to the fact they inputted my insurance wrong. It then took over one hour from my appointment time to actually get seen to get a vaccination. Please go elsewhere.

They've lost my prescriptions more times than I can count, when I call the pharmacy I'm never on hold for LESS than 15 minutes, I have to walk the pharmacy workers through how to apply my manufacturer coupon for one of my prescriptions every single month, I could go on and on. They've taken so long to fill my prescriptions that I've gone weeks without my medication and gotten really sick because of it. I wish I could give this place zero stars. Every time I go in/call, it's somehow a worse experience than the last time.

Just wanted to thank MIKE the MANAGER for his patience and kindness. I was traveling a long distance to see a niece who was admitted to the National Children's hospital in DC and I had driven over 19 hours and was awake over 26 hours...I thought I went to a Walgreens near children's hospital where I left my driver's license on the counter, well turns out I could not locate this mysterious Walgreens because it didn't exist...the Walgreens I went to was in my travels but in one of the states in my drive to Washington DC.So Mike the manager was trying his best to tell me there was no Walgreens to his knowledge "near" the hospital only a Walgreens IN the hospital. He even started to Google search for me and everything...all along it was NEVER his store at all... but he took the time to try and help me locate the Walgreens I thought I went to. I was clearly sleep deprived to not know I was in a completely different state...but Mike was completely patient, kind and helpful.I will continue to give Walgreens my business so long as they keep hiring people like Mike. I can only imagine how awesome he is in his own store with his customers and employees if I received this awesome level of service not having yet patronized his store. Next time I come through I will be sure to spend my money at this Walgreens and I hope others do also based on my review.Thanks Mike the Manager :-)*Paige*

The first time I waited on hold for 20 min. for pharmacist. I was then disconnected. I called back. No answer for 10 min and I was disconnected again. It was not the lunch hour. It was not before or after pharmacy hours. They are clearly just choosing not to answer the phone and then picking it up and hanging up. I was calling to try and get a prescription filled. Funny, I thought that was Walgreens core business. I am now sending my husband to the CVS nearby.

Very kind and helpful employees. QuaShan (Very Nice Female Cashier) was very patient and helpful during my visit. The store was 3 levels of well stocked, organized and great variety of merchandise. From sushi and charcuterie boards to go in their deli section to their inexpensive varieties of fine wine. I was really pleased and impressed with this Walgreens location and will definitely return back soon.

When I opened the 8-pack of soda I'd purchased back in my hotel room, every single one looked like it was ready to explode, and I couldn't set them upright, since the bottoms were not flat. (They weren't even refrigerated so, why had they been frozen at some point?!) Also, they overcharged me for my toothpaste. A pretty typical Walgreens experience...avoid if you can.
