Be sure to visit them if you have just adopted from a shelter — they gave me a few free items to start me and my cat off right. Also, their service/help was amazing. I should have gotten the employees name — the young guy who helped me was super knowledgeable and kind. Will be returning!

This store is absolutely amazing! It’s locally owned. I recently adopted 2 kittens and they had a special where I received free litter, food, wet food and a freeze dried raw topper. I also got the Okocat pelleted litter. I received the best service. All of their products are high quality and the best. I’ll definitely be back!

A wonderful local business. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There's a huge variety healthy pet foods and items. Yes, some things are super specialty and expensive, but there are just as many affordable healthy options too! I love that they regularly host adoption events and seem invested in the community. My pup loves this place so much, every time we walk by he tries to drag me inside! Must be the free treats and belly rubs!

What an awesome find. I went into the store with my new pup Lily last weekend. I kind of knew what I was looking for so I didn't think I needed a lot of help. Fast forward, I found the staff to be amazingly knowledgeable. Quite a difference from most local pet stores. I was especially impressed that the owner Penny spent a lot of time speaking with me about the fresh cooked food choices they offered. She even sent me home with samples and a cooler to keep them cold on a hot day! The store is a little bit out of the way for me, but I will definitely make the trip again and again. Plus they offer inexpensive delivery options when I need to reorder food. I hope more people find out about the Big Bad Woof. I will definitely be spreading the word. Awesome, local, woman-owned pet supply store. They have excellent service, including delivery. And they stock many excellent options of the highest quality pet foods including lots of raw options. They are terrific if you need stuff shipped, too. Their loyalty program, tracked on their in-house system, means that you get free stuff once in a while. The staff is very knowledgeable about the different foods. This is a great shop for excellent service, quality products, and supporting local business. We have been customers for years and will be as long as we have pets to feed.

The service here os exemplary. They are very attentive to anyone who may need help. Came in for Toothpaste for my puppy as she has started to have Tartar on her teeth.The prices are a little high but I guess that products deem a higher price. All in all still worth a visit. The store even has doggy jackets and sweaters!! So cute.

I highly recommend The Big Bad Woof for all your pet care needs! While visiting family in the DC area for a month over the holiday season, I ordered multiple times from them, as they carry the raw dog food I use back home in Arizona. So glad I did my homework and found them! They are helpful, stock quality products, and their delivery option was so very helpful to me, as I was staying in Rockville and didn’t have to drive into the city. They delivered to a local vet and I picked up my order from them. Fast delivery with great communication. Next time I travel with my two dogs out to the DC area – I definitely will return to shop with them. Thanks, again, for your fantastic service!

Best pet store around! We came here a day before getting our first rescue kitten who I was planning to put on the raw diet. The staff members helped me pick out a suitable brand of raw blend that she took to immediately, and they have an array or organic, single-ingredient treats that I feel comfortable feeding her. Best part? They deliver for a super affordable fee!!

As a new dog mom, I love this place! The staff is super helpful and so nice! We switched our pups food to Stella and Chewy and this store is the one that carries a huge variety of their products. Although they didn't have ONE item I was interested in, the staff let me know they would make a suggestion to the rep so they could start carrying it. I'm so happy I found this place! Big Bag Woof is perfect for our family! We have two dogs and two cats and we can obtain everything we need from here, sometimes even delivered if we are too busy with life to stop by. They’re located right off the red line metro as well which makes picking up food and toys for our pets incredibly easy. The staff there is also very friendly and knowledgeable. Big Bad Woof is an absolute joy to have in the community, we couldn’t be happier with them!

We’ve been coming to The Big Bad Woof for months now to get treats for our dog and have enjoyed the store and neighborhood feel. But they went above and beyond this last trip! I went in to get a jacket for my dog and really had no idea how to make sure the fit was right. I brought my dog in and that was a terrible idea. He’s super aggressive towards dogs and he was nervous. Julie offered to help me in the back of the store which was really their office and warehouse. She brought me several jackets for my dog to try on and kept coming back and forth to make sure we got one that fit and I was happy with. She never made me feel like I was being a nuisance, took time to chat with me, and showed me photos of her own dog. Several of the staff pet my dog, walked around us while they worked, and were so friendly. My husband and I originally started coming here to support a small business. We will keep coming here because of their excellent customer service, genuine love for what they do, and their commitment to helping serve the community they live in.

We love this store. They carry a great selection of healthy cat foods and healthy environmentally safe cat litter brands. They offer a wonderful choice of cat and dog collars, leashes and toys too. The products they sell (especially foods) are not the brands sold at larger national pet store chains. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and always happy to help. We are very grateful to live in the neighborhood and have the BBW minutes away. We look forward to the grand opening of their new larger store!

This is a great store, albeit a bit pricey. They have a large selection of high quality pet food, nutritional supplements, and other pet-related products. They also have some locally-made products. The staff is also very helpful with any questions and request for advice. They have reasonably-priced items but they are very few. I would give it 4.5 stars and my only hesitation with 5 stars is the price level.

Staff are friendly and will help with what you're looking for. If they don't have it in stock, they can help you order it. Prices are a touch higher than big box stores, but the quality of the goods is better, and I'm more than willing to pitch in a touch extra to know I'm shopping local + high quality for my main girl.
