This is disgusting... bought 2 pints of ricotta cheese yesterday and both of them had mold...this photo is the worse of the two... they either marked the expiration date wrong or the refrigerator does not work.

This store is consistently well-stocked and the employees are consistently professional. The store has an excellent supply of fresh vegetable and fruits, which is crucial, especially considering their lack in Wards 7 and 8. I have never had an issue with anyone that works here and only have good things to say. I also like the one-dollar section by the check-out line, very useful things there (lighters, little containers, etc.).

PLEASE, PLEASE close this store down and make it a Giant's. I hate it here, the WHOLE shopping center area is so ran down. It's a hot mess in the front of this grocery store, now that they changed the security inside, it damn near a jail, you can't get out the store without a receipt, smdh, the nerve as dirty & scary that neighborhood is. No one is EVER at customer service and the fruit seems to be old all the time. The staff is super ghetto but hey what do you expect it's by Minnesota Ave, lol

I was in and out to exchange an item and had to wait a while. Understandably. However, they seem to keep having trouble keeping shopping carts for shoppers!!! You have to wait for someone to finish with a cart, search the parking lot, or carry items in your arms to the register. I don't understand what's going on with the shopping carts!!! But it's still convenient for a short, quick shopping moment.

Needs a real good cleaning from freezers refrigerators to isles, floors, customer service it’s alright. No one ever at the customer service desk and the whole store be packed and only 2 registers are open. this Safeway needs to look cleaner and smell cleaner

Bad customer service one employee asked me to pull the fire alarm so that she can get off early. They also only have two lines open every night . so the lines have up to about 15 people at each one, wish I would’ve got a better picture, but I couldn’t. The produce section is not kept up well. Flies and gnats are lying around on the onions and they look like they’re going bad. I thought that I was tripping when I brought some asparagus and the same day they got really soft as though they were no good but looking at these onions. I’m now thinking that it’s them not keep up w their produce. Also. They need some help. Every day the lines are long and they also almost never have certain meats like T-bone steaks. Or lamb chops. It honestly needs to be under new management. this is unacceptable.

This is the worst Safeway I have ever been to out of the Safeways I have visited in the Washington,dc area I kid you not me, and my father went in here to pick up a couple of groceries NO CARTS OR NO BASKET IN SIGHT two employees at the cash register while 7 cashier register remained empty, lines full, employees just standing around when I was like theirs no carts or basket he talking about “they keep taking them” uhm ok ain’t its job to go get them.I don’t know if the manger is or he or she but whoever they are they don’t know how to run a grocery store very unprofessional and the store is not all that clean

The beef prices are nice compared to other local stores. The produce and everything else, is awful. However the daytime seafood guy seems competent and helpful. The store is " Ghetto"

Men's room does not have a locking door or any means for hand drying. Garbage is stacked in the back room. How do you expect employees to safely handle food when the basics are not being provided?

The refrigerated items like seafood and meat wasn’t working. They don’t seem to carry small portion meats specifically chicken. It was family size. The bakery is never is stocked. No muffins, store bread, individual goods. Usually 1 cashier. And always some crazy situation going on outside.

It's has gotten better... But this Safeway has slowly degraded over the years... The employees can seem disgruntled at times, and the locals who frequent the Safeway can be ridiculously rude at various moments. I no longer go here for any of my shopping needs. It's just too much hassle and just a crazy environment overall.🤷🏿‍♂️

Local neighborhood Safeway helps keep area from being a food dessert. I try and patronize everytime I come to the area. Weekend and eveimg deli people have excellent customer service. Cashiers are very friendly to me and the self check out help I received on 03/21/2023 was awesome I had difficulty 3 times but she was always very gracious and helped me.

I'm giving this store four stars, only because they've finally put self checkout in it. This was to my knowledge the only Safeway that didn't have self checkout... But is one of the oldest stores.

Freezers never work every-time I buy tv dinners or anything frozen it’s cold but like it was in a refrigerator!!! Really need to get the freezers fixed it’s been almost a year. Or get some new ones sheesh. Someone can get sick!!!!!!!! The photo is right out the box

This is the ONLY major grocery store close to the Parkside, Paradise, and Mayfair community. Selection of some foods are limited or they just don't carry. Items are not priced as indicated on the shelves.The items in the clearance section are raised up and then reduced to 30 - 50% off to appear that you are getting a discount.Customer Service is not as helpful or attentive as they should be. They take their time to acknowledge you. They are either talking to Security, cashier or a customer in another check out line.Paper products and disposable products have sky rocketed in price seems like everywhere.One good thing I noticed was the price of their gallon jugs of Spring Water. It is still 99 cents! That is one of the items that I purchased. They still have problems with SHOP LIFTERS!

I honestly can't stand this store and avoid going unless it's an urgent matter. Today I go in there and the woman ringing up my groceries DECIDED she was going to do my customer satisfaction survey for me and rated the store a 10 on all levels, I saw her doing this and demanded that she stopped and she kept going, and didn't stop until I began fussing at her. I had her void everything and re-ring everything up, but the survey never came back on. I can't imagine how many times she or other employees at this store have done this.It's dishonest, and they are taking advantage of a clientele that will often ignore the survey anyway.Despicable!

Store dark and gloomy. One way in one way out of establishment. Prices abit higher than other grocery stores. Store selling Easter candy $.50. Someone always out front of store selling something. Closest store near me will drive further in future to go to giant.

Updating this review to include a 30+ min check out line at minimum. Every single thing on the shelves yesterday was expired or opened, I had to dig around for everything on my list to be not expired. They also wouldn't let me bag my own groceries with reusable bags I had brought with me.

Very long lines. Very slow-moving lines. Panhandling. Cashier's are known to steal snap and credit card information to drain your account later. Be very very careful.
