What in earth just happened?!?I placed same day delivery order yesterday and it never arrived. I called at noon today to ask about it and I was informed that it should be delivered today. I said “but it was supposed to be delivered yesterday between 6-8. And it’s noon and nothing” lady on the phone said will be delivered shortly. It arrived at 3pm. Not good.Turns out the product was not as expected. So I decided to go to the store and return and get something else. I get there and I speak with the guy at the register. I did not asked for his name but my receipt says i was helped by William.I show told him is an online order u just need to return. He asked me for the card I paid with a me I told him I don’t have it. I know that is on me. So I follow with a “I am sorry, it’s there anything else I can do?”William: No.Me: what do you mean? It’s an online order. You have the information right there. What are my options.William process to CHUCKLE!! At my face and my moms face and he says “go home and get it :)”Sir! It’s 20 degrees out and pouring rain. Even if that’s it’s the only thing, it should not be amusing to you.My mother in her limited English says that if store credit is an option and I said that’s if it is I would take it.He proceeds TO GET MAD!!! because “I said return and nothing else”.Talk about people hating their jobs other people’s problems.Also, I could’ve started a online return on my phone and just give him the code. I saw that when I got home.

Hidden fees…. Even though they completely shave our dog (not requested), they still charged for two de-knotting fees (as well as a “shampoo” fee)…. I am pretty sure it’s normal for shampoo to be included in a wash and cut estimate.Fees aside - I could have done a better job at home. They completely butchered our dog’s haircut. It’s terrible. We even considered taking him to another place to fix it but the hair was so short it was useless.

I didn't even know that this store existed until I looked it up. I had been traveling from Columbia Heights all the way to Virginia for my dog food. Today I came here to pick-up the Hills Science Diet for healthy mobility for my beat friend Archi! While I was roaming the aisles I also got him a peanut butter filled chew bone, as well as, a pack of beef tendon sticks. He absolutely loves those. I could have kept on shopping here because this store has a myriad of things you can buy for your pet. It was great finding this store here today!

My go-to place for everything I usually need for my pups. Employees will proactively ask if you need help finding anything and overall friendly. Since it's a smaller space, they seem to be slower to restock certain items I previously purchase so I end up going elsewhere from time to time.

The cashier / retail staff is always so kind and patient. It’s nice to see them actively helping out customers and they were kind enough to hold onto a bag of Guinea pig food that I urgently needed as another business canceled my order with it!

My partner and I had an amazing experience, with the animal manager of this location! She was friendly, energetic and had a genuinely warm and caring attitude.The store was clean, neat and everything was in its place. We found exactly what we needed(and things we didn't really need, to my partner's dismay 😋), for the cockatiel we bought, from a breeder. We had bought TWO parakeets from this business, not even a couple of months ago and we couldn't be happier with our pets, or the store and its crew.I highly recommend this store and its crew, for a very caring and unique experience.Unlike most places, it's more than just about money. It's the welfare and quality of the pets they sell, and the professionalism of this business, that really stands out.

Dot not bring your dogs at Peptco Grooming!On Thursday February 29th, 2024 at about 10 am my puppy (8 months) was brought to PetCo in 14 street NW in Washington, D.C., for her first grooming. I didn't think anything of the event as it was routine. I required to groomer not to grooming too much and not to cut her ears and tail. Guess what? He shaved her and cut her ears! Horrible! We were on shock!!!They call me 6 hours later to let me know my puppy was ready to go home even though she had a scheduled appointment and I required to wait for her. But, they don't care at all. Unfortunately, when I saw my puppy she was complete shaved also her ears, afraid, red eyes, with perfume smell, and very nervous. No further explanations have been given! My puppy was depressed for more than 3 days, not eating. I took her to the vet. The vet recommend other grooming instead of Pepco!Devastated that our beloved dog was depressed and her eyes very irritated because of PetCo's negligence. Worst customer grooming service!. The dogs at Petco are numbers not pets!

I am putting one star because I cannot rate them with zero or minus five stars. I asked them to trim my Pomeranian’s hair Fox style. They trimmed all his fur and it will take months for his hair to be the way it was. I am adding pre and post photos. Terrible service. Avoid this place for grooming.

Employees closed the store early on a Friday night. Us and another customer drove 20 min to get in before 8pm. Arrived at 7:30pm and store was locked. Employees could be seen in distance ignoring door.

This is such a great store. My pets absolutely love visiting this place, very unlike their vet visit. While I go around the neighborhood my pets get a royal treatment here. The manager was very friendly and approachable. I have situations where I liked the store and the manager but my pet does not. But here there is some kind of mutual attraction. The place also smells quite nice, almost like it is well maintained.

I would give this location 4 stars. Clean out the dead fish in the tanks. But, the employee who helped me deserves 5 Stars! Miguel was great! He was eager, enthusiastic and knowledgeable! He went out of his way to help with my purchase AND it was 15 minutes before closing! Thanks Miguel!

Lovely store staff member whos name started by “d” a lovely black american guy (i dont want to mispronounce his name) helped me buy a carrier while i was in a hurry to take my cat to a vet, he was very energetic and kind answered all of my questions and suggested me great items at this store i would say he deserves a raise , keep it up! This Petco might be good for other things, but the conditions their birds are kept in are nightmarish. The parakeets do not have adequate perches of different sizes, any chewing toys, and they are fed on a cheap, unhealthy all-seed diet. I also watched as a woman pried open one of the plexiglass doors and let a budgie escape. As for the parrots, well, have a look at the photo — a tiny enclosure with no opportunity to climb, chew, fly or have social interaction. Same unhealthy seed diet, water bowls full of droppings. Their heads were full of painful pin feathers because they had no bird or human companion to groom them. Imagine sitting on the same perch in a glass box all day with nothing to do, for weeks and months on end. This is absolute torture for such a smart, social animal.

Checking in was crammed into a little room, no concern for the dogs well being with staff passing back and forth almost anoyed at the two dogs I was bringing in that were perfectly quiet and sat down. The groomers were rough and lacked patience to deal with a 3 month old puppy. They left my older dog looking at the puppy through a door, leaving both dogs extremely anxious and nervous. I witnessed one of the groomers handle MY 3 months old PUPPY on the drying table like she was a piece of trash, oulling the slip lead way too hard to the point she was coughing, eyes wide open and trying to escape, pushing her around forcing her when she was clearly unconfortable to the point she fell off the table, and the groomer pulled her back up from her front paws!!!! The other groomer in the room noticed this told her i WAS LOOKING AT HER!!! and suddenly she was all caring and calm!! this misstreatment was unacceptable! I happened to witness this part so i cant even imagine what they did in the washing station which is away from the public! I ended up pulling both dogs out without drying their coat nor any of the treatments included in the price.I will never go back to that place. The poor puppy was shaking for 1h after that and it was not cause it was cold outside in the midle of august!!PETCO do better, get better people and train them better, this was not ok.

Did the Adult Level 1 dog training and had a fantastic experience. Jen is an experienced trainer who really understands dogs. In general, the staff in the store are super friendly and helpful.

It’s always hard to find an employee to speak to here, but when you do they are well informed on pet care for many different animals, and are willing to spend a lot of time assisting with any questions you have. The people who work at this location seem to genuinely care about animals generally and your pets. Store itself is often a bit disorganized, but decently clean and well lit.

The associate that helped me today took soo much of her time to make SURE she got me 50 crickets. They were down to barely any, and she put so much work into making sure I had what I need, and I really appreciate that. Also whenever I come to this store the staff is super nice and helpful, and I really like the vibe. Definitely gonna keep coming here.

My son and I love, love, love this store. We are here every week doing a fish tank water sample test. The manager Donnell in the fish dept. Is very nice, helpful. knowledgeable, and professional. He and the staff are always ready to help you in any way. It a fun store to shop.

Stopped in to look at fish, since I’ll be stocking my tank soon. The goldfish tank was really packed full of fish, and there were more than a dozen dead fish floating in the top and others swimming sideways in the tank. That’s a bit concerning. I wouldn’t feel comfortable buying fish here.

The woman who was supposed to groom my dog got mad because she wasn't able to control him. So she decided that she wasn't going on with the haircut. Like, who does that? They are very unprofessional. They left my dog half cut and didn't say sorry for the inconvenience. Smdh

We casually visited this store and left with the best impression. The nice cashier seemed sincerely interested in learning about our puppy and gave us some great tips about the excessive chewing. We regret not asking her name, she was a nice African American lady. Thank you!
