With kind owners who treat everyone with respect, they are a listening ear in the community.Inside, they have all the basic groceries, including a wall of grab-n-go drinks, Ben & Jerry ice cream, and cleaning supplies. There’s an ATM in case you need cash.There’s a popular deli behind the register that sells a cold cut sub for under $6.50. Pick your meat (turkey, ham, bologne, roast beef, etc.) and add your toppings and condiments. The turkey sub on a soft roll with mustard, mayo, salt and pepper, banana peppers, onions, and lettuce was delicious!The deli also sells ten different kinds of snow cones for $3.

I just moved into this area. the store is right on the corner my first encounter was great the husband and wife are so friendly always smiling asking how is it going great interaction with customers noticed a sign for sandwiches I tell you I have tried everyone fresh soft bread each time I get one plenty of meat but my favorite is the tuna just got one as a matter of fact It’s a great experience the store has a variety of everything you could possibly need I would highly suggest going to get a sub it’s better then subway in my opinion and I use to work there 🤣

They kicked my friend and I out for taking to long but he was tryna buy groceries and I was not about to spend all of my money in an expensive market. Other than the "Hold Up" the store was pretty nice. A variety selection of snacks and they take EBT

I love this place it feels like home and I don’t live far from them so they are my go to for everything. They are basically family every time I see them it’s always “hey how was your day” coming in and leaving out “ see you tomorrow or soon” never any attitude. All love ❤️

I can honestly say that Menick's Market has made an everlasting impression on me. I was expecting the usual strictly business, unfamiliar, customer/proprietor, monotone shopping experience I'm most commonly met with in places like this but the moment I walked in I knew this place was different.The owners warmly welcomed me and treated me in such a kind, respectful manner that by the time I found what I needed and was ready to pay for my items (which they have an abundance of), It felt like I've been coming here for years. It felt like fam!I decided to get something from the deli for lunch and ordered a sub...OFF THE HOOK! Hands down the best deli sub I've ever had. I highly recommend getting one. You will not be disappointed!Aside from being a great place to shop, Menick's is so much more. With all the negativity, prejudice, hatred and cruelty plaguing our communities more and more each day, knowing that quality, kindness, and community still exists in a local corner store is truly inspirational! One of my favorite places to go to for real!

One of the best markets that I’ve been to in DC. Owners are very friendly and kind. If you need a store that’s convenient for last minute necessities this is the go to store. I also love getting their snow cones. They have many flavors to mix and choose from! Thank you menicks market :)

The best Sandwich 🥪 hands down!.No hype, better than subway sandwich 😋, very good flavor, The bread is very fresh, The staff are very well mannered. Its a delight to shop with them. Always positive and friendly. On my way home I taste a piece of my sandwich, and ate the entire sandwich. Couldn't even wait, thats how fresh and yummy there sandwiches are. Not only do they have a great selection of beer and food (you can buy ingredients to make a whole dinner including fresh veggies) they make amazing cold cut subs. It’s one of the only places in the neighborhood you can go for great carry out sandwiches. So glad they’re right down the street!

Worth trying out the freshly-homemade style Cold Cut Sandwiches! I couldn't have been happier with the purchase, quality, and variety of choices to choose from, from Turkey, Ham, or Roast-Beef. The Subs come neatly wrapped and are ready to take on the go. Deserving of a second visit.

Just wanted to take a minute to highly recommend Menick's Market as the go-to corner store in Deanwood for just about everything. I haven't tried the sub sandwiches yet, but definitely plan to. What I do use is the new delivery service they are offering during the pandemic. Minimal delivery fee. Saves me having to be potentially exposed at the Benning Safeway and much cheaper and faster than Safeway delivery.
