This is my third time at this location and each time I was followed throughout the store by an employee. Every single aisle I went to there goes the employee watching me. I noticed that he wasn't doing this to any of the other customers so I was definitely signaled out. The last time I felt so uncomfortable that I ended up putting my stuff back and not buying anything. Why would I spend my money someplace that is obviously profiling me. Even though this store is convenient to me I will no longer shop there.

Employees repeatedly demonstrated discrimination upon verification of foreign ID for alcohol purchase. My French official and valid ID wasn’t accepted by the cashier. Please Harris Teeter management do better and train your employees by showing them foreign IDs that look different to american ones.

The Harris Teeter in Adams Morgan is a rare gem. The Adams Morgan neighborhood has very few chain stores, but the Harris Teeter brings convenience, quality, and low-price to the neighborhood. The alternative grocery store option is Safeway, which is in a very poor condition and always out of stock and busy with very few check-out clerks. Harris Teeter is well-stocked, clean, well-lit, convenient, and has a great variety of foods, as well as ready-made foods and salad/hot food bars. They have a huge beer and wine selection. This location does not have an in-store ready-made pizza option, though. They make sushi and grinders in-store. Some great convenience features include a free parking garage on premises, a pharmacy, and hours that mean the store is open until midnight every day. I live within two minutes walking distance so I frequent the store a lot (roughly 5-10 times per week). I know a lot of the staff members by name and they are very friendly, polite, and attentive. They have lots of checkout stations and clerks, as well as four self-checkout stations. I use Samsung Pay without any issues here. The store gets very busy on Sundays and Monday evenings, when most people do their grocery shopping.I highly recommend signing up for a store discount card and signing up for the eVIC online specials. You will receive emails on Tuesday and Thursday nights with extra discounts and specials automatically loaded to your Membership card. Due to the email specials, I receive a free item or two almost every single weekend.

Oooha! I love this Harris Teeter Supermarket. Always fresh produce and a variety of fooda from different cuisines! And the people that work here are pleasant and very helpful. I appreciate great Customer service! Thanks Harris Teeter!I found all kinds of ingredients to make Sushi at home, Chinese, Mexican food anything you can think of. That's So good.With your VIC card you also get alot of specials and discounts.Masks required and they have wipes to clean your shopping carts! Great shopping experience.Highly recommended!

This is the WORST Harris Teeter store. Most of the staff behave like they hate their jobs and it's the customers' fault. Nasty attitudes, ZERO customer service skills, and clearly don't care about their jobs b/c they talk to customers like we work for them. We don't. Good luck keeping that store open much longer.

Meat department manager should be put on notice. This meatloaf looks like someone slammed it into the packaging with complete disregard. The staff is clearly not wearing proper PPE as a very thick hair most likely from a beard was found in the packaging of my bacon. Everyone else here is lovely but the fact that a meat department manager wouldn’t catch this is a disgrace. You should do better @HarrisTeeter !!

What's up with the new security asking for the receipt to mark it at each exit in the last few days? It's inconvenient, but it isn't the issue, the issue that the employee doing this is very rude, first time I was "asked" in s very rude manner, I thought maybe the guy had a bad day, but then in two days I visited the store again, and he was even ruder. What's happened?

Worse experience in a grocery store in the US. Didn't accept official French ID "it could be a fake one" I was told. Then, picture on passport "doesn't look like me" (the same that was approved my entrance in the US).

If I could, I would give it a negative review. The manager here is so rude. Instead of communicating, she just snatched the bottle of wine from my hand cuz I didn’t have a US ID. I offered to show her my scanned passport (the method used by ALL bars and clubs in the entire U.S.!) cuz why would I carry my physical passport to a GROCERY STORE!? and she just snatched the bottle and cursed under her breath.

Store is generally well stocked and there is a parking garage. Stay clear of self-checkout; it does not function well and is frustrating. Fresh vegetables are plenty and the beer selection is nice.

Clean and always being cleaned, helpful friendly staff, great bargains! Get a VIC card if you don't have one yet - surprise discounts all the time! It's nice getting to know some of the cashiers by name, in face I'll seek out a couple of them to check out!

Great place to get hot lunch or dinner! Pleasantly surprised at their Prime Rib dinner- a big portion with 2 sides for only $10.. Clerks were friendly and helpful,and the shelves were well organized..well definitely recommend..

Harris Teeter was a nice and comfy supermarket to hold out from the rain in. There were a lot of good deals. I’ve also never been to a supermarket that used an elevator. Very interesting.

Best grocery chain for sales in DC, if not the whole DMV. The produce and meat quality seems pretty good, the store is clean and bright. I mostly shop the items on sale, and if you're patient, you can get great deals like pork for $1-1.29 a lb, butter for $3 a lb and even turkey for $.29 a lb. By comparison, Safeway prices are only ok when stuff is on sale, and even then it's nothing special.

Despite a sign on the hot food Asian Bar saying it was available for lunch & from 4-7 pm Monday-Sunday, it was closed at 6 pm Saturday. The manager said they don't open it on weekends in spite of the sign.

The best store! There is Areil from meat department who is very helpful. He does his job fast, pakcs very well and gives best advices for steak! Very friendly and helpful. Clean store shelves are always full.

I went there today and purchased some Dungeness crab clusters. When I get home and opened the bag there was an extremely fishy smell. I steamed them and tasted them and there was a sickly STRONG ammonia smell. I know that they are bad and I had to discard them. This is the second time I've come to this location and this has happened. I stopped buying seafood from this location a year ago because of this same issue. I thought maybe they had improved, but they definitely haven't. Very disappointed.

Upon entering this Harry teeter I was surprised by the warm hospitality and modern aesthetic. While there are a variety of options, DISCOUNT BAKED FOODIES BWRARE; there was no baked clearance section. Although the service was great it was a disappointment to me. The only redeeming factor of this place was the free saltines at the buffet. 5 stars, 0 discount baked goodies.

Good selection and good prices. Fresh produce is usually well stocked, and in good shape. Associates are readily available and willing to help. The only real issue is lines tend to back up during peak times. Parking garage in Adam's Morgan area is a nice treat as well.

GROCERY STORE = *****butPHARMACY = *The grocery part of the store has the best selection and the best employees. Highly recommended.The pharmacy also has a fine and nice staff, but they are HORRIBLE UNDERSTAFFED. The manager needs to hire several people -- at least two, preferably three -- as quickly as possible because the few staffers they do have seem to keep quitting because it's too crazy!I have a recurring prescription for phenobarbital to prevent life-threatening seizures. Because this is a controlled substance, I cannot refill it through the computer system. (Believe me, I've tried.) I must refill it through a pharmacist personally. But because there are so few staffers working at the pharmacy, it is almost impossible to reach a pharmacist over the phone.As a result, I have run out of the pills more than once altogether. Again, this is DANGEROUS. This is a life-threatening situation.I know hiring is tough right now but that's all the more reason to beef up the pharmacy with more than one staffer. I'm sure this is a life-threatening situation for everyone who depends on their medications being refilled.

My experience every time is wonderful everyone is always so helpful and professional. All of your cashier's and employees are so respectful and go overboard to satisfy there customers, your Managers are always pleasant and are willing to help you find what you want. Harris teeter is my favorite grocery store, I give them and A+ or 5 stars.

My go-to store for overall food shopping! There are three competing stores that are located twice as close to my house, but I make the trip to Harris Teeter on Kalorama Road NW because I feel they represent the best balance of variety, value, and price. Plus, the staff seem to be well-trained -- they are knowledgeable about the store's merchandise, helpful in assisting me find things, and generally cheerful and polite. The added pluses are a Pharmacy (with helpful, cheerful pharmacists) and free garage parking.
