This Tenley store which is tucked under the Target has become my ‘local’ Ace. Sadly we lost our Ace in Woodley Park. The staff are helpful & friendly. On recent trips Juan & May both helped me find what I was Looking for in the store’s tight aisles. The store is is only a bus or train ride away, and is dog friendly!

Went for screws to attach new license plates to our car. Abou went above and beyond: he not only picked out the right products (screws of multiple sizes were needed, along with a little plastic piece to fill a stripped hole), but also came out to the street to install everything himself. All we had intended to purchase were a few small pieces of plastic and metal totaling to under five dollars! (In the end, impressed by the customer service, we ended up spending ~$150 on other household items we probably otherwise would have bought elsewhere.)Abou had a pleasant demeanor, an unhurried pace, and skill in his craft. He disappeared for a couple of minutes before the job was done, and I found him helping an elderly woman carry her merchandise up the stairs. He returned to the task on our car, and gave it all the attention it required. He made me laugh by criticizing the work of a mechanic who had done an ad hoc job attaching the last plates, saying that the mechanic should have stuck to the engine.I'm not generally a writer of online reviews, but I was so impressed by this level of customer service that I felt I must in this case. This guy Abou is going places! Glover Park Hardware should give him a raise if they want to keep him around!

This is a great hardware store. Staff is helpful, selection quite decent, and right in my neighborhood. Could I save a little bit of cash by driving out to the deep burbs for the Home Despot or similar? Sure, but would I? Absolutely not. Icing on this cake: they always accept my Ace coupons, even if past their expiration date. Now that is ace in my book.

I’ve always received excellent customer service at Ace Hardware in Glover Park. The employees are kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. Today Lauren helped me and she was wonderful! She was so helpful from my phone call asking about an item in stock, arranging for assembly, and checking me out. Thank you Lauren and the rest of the Ace Hardware in Glover Park team!

First time visiting this store and the folks there were absolutely fantastic to deal with! They knew EXACTLY what I needed to fix a small plumbing issue and we're also friendly and damn funny! It was a great experience and now I can't wait for something else in our house to break! Well done folks!

I had just moved to the area and was feeling a bit frustrated in setting up my cable network when I decided to go for a brief walk here to pick up some items that I needed to plan out my space. The store was very well organized and the staff was super attentive. The best part of my visit was a checkout, where Dori enthusiastically welcomed me to the area and gave me a ton of useful information on my purchases.I will 100% be doing all of my future business here!

I left home without my umbrella & it was pouring 1 morning so I needed an umbrella. Ran to store & met a very helpful guy, he took me to the umbrellas as opposed to pointing me to them & I got a great umbrella that can fit in my bag easily

The benefit of going to ACE over places like Home Depot used to be the customer service, sure as hell wasn’t the prices (even with rewards). Sadly, now you can’t even get that. Expensive products that fail in months with no warranty or integrity.

Always friendly staff. Well stocked for a small shop. You might have to order small, obscure things, but most common stuff is in stock.

The store is smaller than a Home Depot or Lowe's, but it has a great small-town neighborhood feel to it. The staff is amazing, and they are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. These guys are down to help you with whatever, even if its a little bit off the beaten path. I needed to create a cheap 3-light kit for a TV commercial I was shooting, and the staff helped me find exactly what I was looking for. Kudos to these guys.

Not gonna lie: one of the best places to go when I was in DC helping loved ones move in to a new place.Look: big box stores have their place but the number of folks available to answer questions and the depth of attention and knowledgeable service we consistently received on our 3…4 trips there make it a favorite.Check them out!

Great little neighborhood store that will help when you're short on time. Have to admit everything is a little overpriced but cannot beat the convenience if you live close to it. It is located in the lower level and it is deceivingly big once you are inside. The workers are helpful and will help you find what you need if you seem lost in the store. Overall nice place

So glad to have this ACE in the neighborhood. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. You can find pretty much everything you are looking for and if they don't have it, you can order it for pickup. Love the parking in the back too.

Omg. The staff at this store are amazing. Thanks for helping me unscrew and attach my license plate. I didn’t think you’ll come out with a drill to help me out even though I bought a $1.99 screw driver from you. You guys are the best !!!

I am rating Glover Park Ace location a 4 because the gentleman who assisted me was very nice in spite of this mean nasty new world we live in. The only issue I have was I placed my order for curbside but the store was unable to locate the order which caused me to go inside the store which I loathe. Love my Ace Hardware!

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL HARDWARE STORE! The staff is always friendly and helpful. In fact, you'll be amazed at the quantity and variety of items this store stocks!! All right here in our very own neighborhood! No need to drive all the way to one of those big box, mega stores...

The front of the store was cluttered and difficult to navigate. Pipes along the ceiling were leaking in multiple places. Otherwise, they had what I needed and the staff were friendly.

These guys have been my go-to for mouse traps and duplicate keys. An old fashioned hardware store with all the fixin’s tucked away in a Glover Park basement. What’s better than that? Knowledgeable and always helpful staff, plus great rewards program. For projects big and small, ACE, does indeed, remain the place. Best small hardware store in the District. Hands down.

Disbelieve all positive reviews for the ACE Hardware in Glover Park. The staff there is rude, unhelpful, incompetent and pay absolutely no attention to customer safety. This explains why today was my last shopping trip to the ACE Hardware in Glover Park.I was walking through one of the aisles in the ACE Hardware in Glover Park and was looking at items on a shelf when I suddenly was tripped and fell to the floor: the staff left several thick and heavy sealed cardboard boxes scattered right on the floor. A store employee came to see what had happened and when she saw me rising from the floor she then promptly lost all interest. The employee "apologized" in an insincere manner and was offended when I criticized her and the store for leaving boxes scattered on the floor for customers to trip on, claiming that she was not the employee responsible.Although I haven't encountered scattered boxes previously in the in the ACE Hardware in Glover Park, the staff there does place too much merchandise in the aisles: they are totally incompetent and rude and cannot properly run the store. Placing heavy sealed cardboard boxes on the store floor for customers to trip on is absolutely the dumbest thing store employees can do: Washington, DC store employees can be among the worst, but I have never encountered such flagrant incompetence in a store in this city before today. The Yelp reviewers posting here leaving all of those five-star reviews probably have never shopped often in the ACE Hardware in Glover Park or spent much time in the store when shopping there. All of the Washington, DC area ACE Hardware stores are poorly staffed and managed, but the Glover Park location is the very worst and has been getting worse since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic: they are unable to deal with more customer demand. For your own safety and sanity, please avoid the ACE Hardware in Glover Park! You will find Lowe’s or the Home Depot to be a safer, saner, and more courteous environment!

Best Staff; Supportive as well. Very vast collection of everything from cradle to grave. But price is super expensive. For normal things which you need for your 1 Bedroom Apartment, you end up paying $100 for 3-4 sockets and plugs. Then you realize and get the feeling that Dude, This is DC.. :) But in urgency you need anything, This is the place.

This store (glover park Ace hardware store) is hand down and flawlessly the best in town.It took me only one visit with a small purchase after speaking to one of the store managers (Nohie) when I realized that, this is the one I wanted to continue my hardware shopping, in compare to other hardware stored near or away from my residence. My recent purchase from rhis store was with total satisfaction. Thanks to knowledgeable and pleasant staff, most importantly the manager of that day (Antoine) who was very accomodatung in most professional way possible to make my purchase flawlessly accomplished. The delivery was also profoundly perfect.

Friendly, helpful employees. Much larger than you would think. Selection is more in line with what you'd expect from a suburban hardware store. Just don't expect a Home Depot/Lowes level of selection.

Although I requested curbside pickup, I had to go in the store. I was the only customer, tired of waiting I got the item from the shelf, showed the cashier and left. I seem to have interrupted break time. Not worth it!

Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man(kind). Always helpful and great people. They even gave me a discount since they didn't have the basic item (on the website) and only had one at 2ce the price. That's customer service!
