Fantastic independent neighborhood hardware store - a refreshing departure from the mind-numbing big box stores. You will most likely find whatever you need here for your home and garden (unless you’re taking on a massive or exotic project). The staff is personable, knowledgeable, friendly. Very much grateful for Frager’s dependable presence here in Capitol Hill - consistently saving us from Beltway traffic and trips to the ‘burbs.

Excellent hardware local hardware store. You'll find what you need to get the job done. I also appreciate everyone in the store willing to help answer questions. Sometimes the expertise isn't as helpful as I hoped but no different that my trips to Home Depot. Also has other things that I wouldn't expect from a hardware store, like a great selection of balloons.

I like this hardware store. They always have what I need and they have the friendliest customer service. It's location is needed. It reminds me of the original neighborhood hardware stores in NY city where my Dad used to drag us to and we end up happy cause we could get a candy bar and gum...lol. I definitely recommend this store.

Fragers is one of my favorite addictions. I have never been able to go in and only buy what's on my list. I always find something I didn't realize I needed until it's for sale on the shelves. The customer service is always on pont too.

Sooo confused by the woman at the cash register (receipt says Kendall) and her random but very real disdain towards me. It even prompted another customer to intervene on my behalf because her comments were so unreasonable and just downright mean. It felt like she was purposefully trying to get a rise out of me so I just stayed as quiet as possible. I have zero idea what prompted the behavior, as she was being very nice to the (male) customers in front of and behind me, but I hope she got it out of her system.

This store has everything in there and the help is so awesome the plumbing section is amazing they can help you out with anything and the prices are very affordable I would recommend them to anyone you can also order online

Great neighborhood hardware store that is a one stop shop for all your housing needs. I have come here for paint and paint supplies, rodent traps, outdoor lights, home repair supplies, and office supplies. It's part of Ace Rewards program. It also has a plant store attached to it.

I went to Fragers tonight in pursuit of some screws for my Amazon shoe rack (shoutout Amazon for botching it and not including the screws)The second I asked, Lenny (absolute legend give him a RAISE), immediately helped me out and took the pieces of the shoe rack and found the perfect wood screws for them. He was kind and helpful and even bagged them for me. I paid $1.61 and was on my way. This is a small little location but does have a massive selection and Lenny especially was super helpful for my needs. Highly highly recommend if living in Capitol Hill.

I bought the XL Big Green Egg display model and was handled by Hannah who was so nice and courteous to me! She not only handled my transaction with a smile, but ensured that my delivery would be seamless. Kyle and Mateo came to my home and were two of the nicest delivery professionals I ever encountered. Its so nice to have a local hardware store which I can trust and do business. Frager's Ace Hardware has earned my business and they will earn yours too.

Very convenient location, and they've really improved the store since they moved locations.Unfortunately, Fragers employees and contractors consistently endanger the residents of the surrounding community by illegally parking on both 11th SE and Pennsylvania SE. I can't support a store that cares so little for their neighbors, especially when those neighbors are their customers.

This place has it ALL. Knife sharpening to gardening to normal hardware needs. Prices are reasonable. The best part was staff were super friendly and helped me navigate the store.

This is our local hardware store and I’ve always experienced excellent service! Team members are always prompt and available to help you out. Last month I ordered an additional remote/key for my car, and despite some delays with the warehouse, Jamani (I hope I’m getting his name and spelling right, I didn’t see his name tag to confirm!) was so helpful and communicative. Disappointed to be rudely treated for “walking into store” before opening. The door was wide opened and I entered only to be charged aggressively by the 3 attending employees, shouting for me to exit. I had to calm them down of their excitement to reprimand me for entering the store. There was no indication that the store was not opened. No hours were posted ether. Then the older guy rudely and aggressively closed the door as I exited. He then snarkly stated “I guess!” When informing him that 8:00 was in 14 minutes. It was really disappointing to have to endure such rudeness in the morning.

Today, I had the pleasure of receiving incredible assistance from George at Frager's Garden Department. His knowledge, dedication, and willingness to go above and beyond are noteworthy. My husband and I were looking for a plant and a green pot for our front yard. Not only did he provide expert advice, but he also patiently answered all our questions and shared valuable tips. George's friendly demeanor and contagious smile brighten our day. Happy birthday, George!

4th time visiting this shop. Writing this review right after stepping out the door. There's some serious customer service going on here. Their level of service and knowledge is just on a league of its own. CHRIS and CHARLIE, and even the full frikkin staff is just top shelf. Just genuine good vibes customer service in general. They helped me visualize my small project. Crazy. spent 30 mins here vs 4 hrs in Home Depot with nothing to show for it.. Fragers put them to shame.

Frager's has everything you need with options of quality products. As a professional interior painter, I can always count on them to have the products that I frequently run out of in-between jobs, lol. Also, the staff is super friendly and is always trying to do whatever they can do to help you in any way they can!!!! I also enjoy the outdoor garden department it doesn't have everything, but it has all the necessities.

Came by in August to get three window screens made. Frager's instructed me to drop the old ones off to get measured and they would contact me in a few days to give me pricing. After waiting a week, I called back and they said they lost the screens. Then after calling back a couple weeks later, Frager's said they found them and to check back with them shortly. A few days later I did and they said they had "an emergency" and it didn't seem like they cared about my screens - they just losing my screens and blowing me off.Update: 3/3/2021. Finally Frager's called me and said they would help me. They took my credit card info and said the screens would be ready in two weeks. I followed up again in 2 weeks and they said another week. It's now 2 more months and no response.

This place is always friendly but today was the best. The clerk at the checkout counter saw that I was about to purchase the wrong drill bit size/type for the anchors i was also going to purchase. He took me to the drill bits and helped pick out the right stuff. After I told him it was for mounting a tv, he demonstrated how to use the screw driver under the washer when drilling so to tighten the toggle bolt. He did this without talking down to me (in my experience, other hardware stores tend to talk down to me, a female). In short, Frager’s employee helped me get all the tools needed to mount tv into plaster.Thanks Frager’s! This single female freaking mounted this tv all by herself, thanks to you!

This is my local hardware store. I've had many sets of keys copied here: they are quick and efficient. And I've gotten many key rings and other key-accessories. Prices vary from moderate to expensive. As with all the Ave Hardwares in the District, somethings are over-priced as compared to home Depot, but they offer convenience and individualized service/care as you shop. This store's outdoor garden/plant section is amazing! They offer an entire separate shop of house plants (holiday decorations in winter) and a huge selection of pots, soil, and of course plants! I went on for for screws and left with a hibiscus!
