Love this place! Kaitlyn is very sweet and John the groomer is beyond talented. My 11 year old dog looks amazing and she’s happy to go there. For context my dog is never happy to go to a groomer or a vet, very happy to see her not demonstrate as much resistance.

Do not book here. I brought in my toy poodle for a bath, blow out, nail cut, sanitary trim, face/paw trim. I asked them specifically to not cut his bangs around his eyes because I like the over the eyes look. They cut it anyway… They also cut off all of the hair around his mouth/chin super short. I would understand if he was a standard poodle, then that would be a very common look. But he is a toy poodle, a breed that typically has the fluffy, teddy bear-like look. Very disappointed. They clearly don’t know anything about what looks good on what breeds.Word of advice, if you’re looking for a clean cut look around sanitary areas, they don’t do that apparently. They claim that they only do a light trim around the areas your dog uses the bathroom. My dog is very fluffy so I prefer for the hair to be short and clean around those areas. It looks like an attempted job done poorly.

We went for a trial today and will not be returning. When we picked our puppy up it looked like he was returning from battle. They told me he was playing rough and another dog broke his collar. I was watching the video feed earlier in the day and saw this dog pulling him around by his collar and thought “surely the supervisor in the room will intervene, don’t be that dog mom” and turned the feed off. When they handed me his collar it was ripped in multiple places and all the plastic was broken. Im confused about their supervision practices and how they let this rough play continue. Our boy is a tank but he’s a lazy player. The most concerning issue- his whole AirTag holder/ ID and AirTag were missing. They only searched for it when I asked and we only got the AirTag back. Again, confused about how this was missed?Additionally, he was SO sticky. We thought it was just play slobber but when I rinsed him off the water was yellow brown and it was clear he was covered in PEE. He’s never come back from other daycares this dirty. Truly unacceptable. This happened on a fairly slow Saturday- there were only about 4-5 dogs in his play area.I don’t love leaving negative reviews but when you put your trust in people to take care of your baby you want them to take care of your baby. I really hope they make some serious changes to their practices because the dogs deserve better.

The best day care out there! I sent my dog to doozy dog daycare for about 8 months, both for daycare and boarding. The staff is absolutely incredible — wonderfully kind, excellent with the dogs, and very responsive. The facility is fantastic, with lots of space for the dogs and a nice large window for them to watch people go by on the street. Prices are the best you’ll find in the area and well worth it especially given the great hours (7am to 9pm) and the package prices. Can’t recommend this place highly enough and we’re sad to leave but looking forward to being back soon!

I took my yorkie here today with hopes of getting a great experience and relationship with this establishment as I just moved from Miami to the DC in hopes to find a new groomer for my dog.. my appointment was at 2pm.. I got there on time and they ended up pushing him back to 4pm. Which was a little annoying, having to rush there in DC traffic just to get pushed back 2 hours. I shifted my day around his appointment/ sat in the car with him so he didn’t have to wait all that time in the kennels .. although I do try to be understand. Things happen and I get that.. when they were finally ready to take him, I specifically showed them a certain cut that I wanted them to do (teddy bear look) when I picked him up they clicked him as short as they could. I’m so disappointed because again I had hopes of wanting to come back and building a relationship with this groomer so me and my dog felt comfortable going there. It just sucks that I didn’t get the look I wanted for my dog.. Again totally understand stuff happens but I just really wished they took into consideration the look I was going for. I won’t go back here I just feel like they didn’t listen to me at all.

This is an absolutely amazing doggie daycare and spa center. I found this club because I was traveling in DC and my dog needed a place to stay while I was sightseeing. Their staff was so friendly and accommodating and letting us stay and the rates were very reasonable. Your dog is required to do an initial assessment to make sure that they will be comfortable and sociable with the other animals. They have very estranged staff who spend the day with the dogs, and they separate the breeds by size, which makes me more comfortable because my dog is on the smaller side. Overall, I highly recommend this day care center!

This place is hit or miss depending on who is working. Everyone is nice but need more training. Groomers apparently don't work weekends when most Hoomans are off work. Weird.Update: 12/10/22Took my dog for another bath and cut and this time even worse. Uneven haircut so my wife had to trim her again at home. The groomer must be blind or have no training. There used to be a guy I saw all the time who was the manager. Where did he go? Bunch of kids running the place now. No quality control.

Awesome groomers. All of the employees were very kind and helpful and communicative. I was able to get an appointment in a good amount of time for my two dogs and they performed a quick grooming service. They were able to accommodate my big elderly Great Dane and cocker spaniel puppy. Only downside was parking was challenging to find. Otherwise, I would highly recommend them.

Not satisfied at all with my dogs grooming. I showed the groomer a photo of what I wanted and also instructed him not to cut his eyelashes. They made me pay for the grooming and tip before they brought him out so I felt helpless at that point. The groomer completely chopped up his head and ears instead of combing them out (he does not have matting). The hair on the front of his face is also extremely uneven. Grooming seemed very rushed and lazy. I also felt staff were rude over the phone. Would definitely not return.

I will NEVER!!! Bring my dog back here they are horrible!! They skinned my dog and made him look like a roach! They don’t even try to make the dogs look nice!! They better be glad I wasn’t the one who picked him up!! Cause they would have been calling the police on me !! The lady name Koto had the nerve to get upset because i cussed them out I had every right to cuss them out i gave them a Yorkie and they gave me back a plucked chicken she hung up on me and they refused to answer my calls so i went up there and of course she wouldnt come from behind the wall!! I did a before and after picture of what my dog look like after the groomer did this botched job! like look at my dog I have EVERY reason to be upset and cuss them out!

I brought my Bernedoodle in for a haircut after it had been a few months. I knew she would need a shorter cut due to some matting. The cut on her body looked good. However, the groomer butchered the trim around her face and shaved her tail. Her hair was so uneven on her cheeks that I had to cut a significant amount of hair myself after spending over $100 on a haircut. It looked like he trimmed one side (poorly) and forgot entirely about the other. I sent an email afterward asking for a call back to discuss my concerns and never received a call back. Horrible haircut and customer service.

We took our pup here for boarding due to a last minute trip out of town. We gave him a bath just a week before we dropped him off but when we picked him up, his legs and belly were covered with brown stuff and he smelled very bad (mix of strong chemical, cleaning solution maybe? and the smell of urine). During his stay, I checked camera regularly but every time when I checked the camera, there was nobody there but there were at least 8-12 dogs there at any given time. I doubt they clean the facility frequently. Take your pup here only if you absolutely have no other options. The staff told me they’d send me report card every day, but we never did. We will never return.

I’ve been taking my dog here for over three years for daycare, boarding, and grooming. He is always super excited to go and the employees are so caring and playful with him! The manager is great and takes the time to make sure you feel comfortable. I love the fact that there are webcams and that they have someone at the facility 24/7. I’m so happy I was able to find such a good place for my pup!

My new go to for nail trims and grooming. Great staff, convenient location off U at Florida & 14. Boarding i's a bit pricey ($57/ night), but nail trim is $12 and walk ins welcome. Can take appointments too. Pup was happy!

Im not sure why this place feels they can justify being the most expensive doggy daycare in town? Its $10 more than both Dogtopia and District Dogs(this one is super highly rated). My dog has gone to all 3 places and although this location is the most convenient for me i cant justify the $57/day for daycare. At Dogtopia, someone is inside the play areas at ALL times. They even blow bacon flavored bubbles around and play with them. They take shifts and play with the dogs and are super interactive. But here at Doozy, my dog literally has the most boring experience coming here. I watch him on the cameras just laying there doing nothing. He can do that at home. Just know your dog will likely be super bored and unsupervised. I bring him to have fun and tire him out and he legit looks depressed instead. I end up feeling bad and am down the hole $57!

This is a great place. My dog gets excited every time he sees where we are. The employees from the front desk to the dog rooms are friendly and respectful willing to help and accommodate. We got to the point where they know my dog's name when he comes in. The package plans make it affordable.

I recently boarded my 1.5-year-old dog at DoozyDog Club in Washington, D.C., because of several positive experiences. I received the wrong dog bed at pick-up, and the staff could not find the correct one. While it's possible that this was a simple mistake, it's also concerning that I was left wondering whether my dog had the correct bed while boarding. As a pet owner, I want to feel confident that my furry friend is well cared for, including access to their familiar belongings while away from home.I'm hesitant to use DoozyDog Club again in the future. I want a boarding facility that I trust and feel comfortable leaving my pet with, and unfortunately, this experience may have undermined that trust.

They don't care about the difficult dogs no one ever plays with them unless people are watching like a tour. They lock the dogs up all day if they can't do anything else with them or they're to tired and irritated they lock them up in suites but it's really a tall glass case barley air or room to move the dogs fight and bite you or each other always stressed for young old and disabled management doesn't care also beware the female assistant manager and also the place is full of mold rat traps and grime and no fresh air every 5min more like every 5 hours also thermostats in there (ask for the tour Please even if you don't have dogs) Please pass this along like share comment will be back for updates

Doozydog permanently damaged my dogs coat during simple groom! I asked for a trim and they nearly shaved him. This is devastating as he is just a one year old dog now with permanent bald spots due to an incompetent groomer/ facility. I called to complain about this at length and the response I got was, “sorry we are still new.” This is absurd. NEVER take your dog here !!! I cannot express my disappointment enough.

We bring our dog for daycare to Doozydog only when we are in DC. The convenient part is the location and the fact that they are open on weekends and also longer than other daycares - until 9 PM. The reason for two stars is that staff barely put any effort into cleaning, which translates into dogs getting sick. Looking at webcams, they literally use one small towel to wipe off the ENTIRE play area with around 30 dogs in it. They also don't clean immediately, so dogs roll around in excrements. No wonder, after the last daycare stay, our dog got sick with an upper respiratory illness, presumably kennel cough (vaccinated). Doozydog lets unlimited number of dogs into play areas every day, but barely follows any precautions to keep the dogs safe. To Doozydog daycare staff: you MUST clean CONSTANTLY to avoid the spread of diseases. Change water and clean bowls more often. Please improve you cleaning methods! Owners get sick dogs and also have to bathe them after each visit.Another concern, is that Doozydog has very few staff members on site - essentially, once the dog is placed inside the play area, no one is there to watch them. The dogs are left to themselves. I would never board my dog in this facility.

I boarded my dog here and upon picking him up I realized he was coughing, lethargic, and had sores on his feet and lips. Nobody at Doozy Dog told me he was ill and when I called the next day to ask I was was told that they were aware of a sick dog in the facility (likely canine influenza). I am so disappointed that nobody was transparent with me until I called and asked. I will not take my dog back to this pricey facility that is now going to also cost me in vet bills. I don't see myself trusting Doozy Dog in the future.

I bring my puppy to DoozyDog for day care very regularly and could not be happier with the service! The hours are excellent, the staff is professional and they really do care about the wellbeing of their 4-legged guests. My pup loves going there!A testament to their care: I was picking up my dog after a work event late one evening and since they were getting ready to close, I gave them a call to let them know I was 15 minutes away. When I got to DoozyDog, my pup wasn't in the playpark but sitting with the staff member at the front desk. The staff member said that since she was the last dog in the facility, she "didn't want her to be alone" so she took her out to play with her while she waited for me. Super sweet of her!

We are not pleased with the service. We took our dog for a grooming, which was supposed to cost $90. But when we got our dog they informed us that actually it was going to cost us $120 because our dog had been difficult. We were never informed of this ahead of time, we would have liked to have gotten a call in the 2 hours they had the dog informing us of this.Once arriving home, we noticed a few paws have been groomed differently, with different lengths. We also had to adjust some hairs in the face, tail and belly with a scissors at home as they were really not even. 2 cotton balls fell from her ears when she got home. So it seems that the groomer might have forgotten they there. :/One last thing, she was coughing and almost throwing up for a few hours, it seems that in the effort to control her they might have used a very tight collar.

I took my goldendoodle here to be groomed, and oh my god! What a mess they left my dog. I barely recognized her when I picked her up.They completely botched her haircut....and it gets better! They did not bathe her, her private parts had not been touched at all, so I had to put her in the bathtub and bathe her all over.I requested they pluck the hairs from inside her ears and they did not.It was a pathetic job!!!!I tried to speak with the assistant manger Kimonie, who appeared to be irrationally defensive and flip about the experience, and that's when I realized that this is normal for her. Her reaction to the situation spoke volumes. There are literally kids running this establishment including the groomer (beware there is a high turnover) with little to no experience.Apparently, there is a staffing issue where they only have one person to cut hair this young man named Ron who is just inexperienced (nothing wrong with that, gotta learn sometime) but needs help from an experienced groomer to supervise him.I get that this would be a fun environment, so would be a good place for teens to work, but that does not mean they do not need adequate supervision.Where are the owners of this business? What do they know of their business's day to day issues such as what I experienced, and are they okay with it?If Kimonie's reaction was one of shrugging and oh well, does it mean many unhappy customers have left defeated, and just moved on to other groomers with reasonable customer service without perhaps making it know like I am with this review??Guess what the biggest joke was with my encounter with Kimonie? “Bring your dog back in, so we can fix the problem.” So why would I bring my dog back to the one and only groomer at this joint that butchered her haircut in the first place?!Such a damn shame 🤦‍♀️Here's what I learnt!Do not take for granted that all establishments are the same, so ask questions of the groomer as you would with any potential employee before leaving your pet with them. Be assured they are worthy of the job,We’ve all been in an interview one time or the other , and know how it’s done.In the meantime….Stay away from this one!!!

They grinded my dogs nails so far down that he was gushing blood when he got home and got blood all over the furniture and carpets. They never said anything when handing him back to me (like I get this happens but give me a heads up that he’s bleeding profusely). When I called to ask how to help stop the bleeding they didn’t say sorry or seem concerned at all. No customer service whatsoever. The pic is just one of many paper towels used to stop the bleeding.

We tried calling so many places for daycare and no one was able to fit us in. We then called doozydog club. They were extremely busy, but still fit us in. Our puppy evaluation was short. They are so friendly and welcoming. The place was super clean. After leaving my puppy, I was a little anxious as it was all last minute. 3 hrs later when we went to pick him up, our puppy was so happy and seems to have had a great day. They did not even charge us a dollar for the service as it was just a test day. We will definitely give them a call the next time I am in the city. They are amazing!! Thank you for all your help!!

My dog Ripley LOVES Doozydog DC, as do I! We've been customers since 2018, and their comprehensive line of services are excellent, particularly if you're on travel frequently or need regular daycare/grooming.Also, as my dog has gotten older, they've been amazing at taking extra care of him and letting me know if anything may be up when he's being boarded. For those with older dogs where you may want an extra eye when you're away, they're great! Finally, the staff at Doozydog DC is great! They're all lovely and super helpful! Cannot recommend them enough!

We visit DC regularly for long weekends, and we wanted to start bringing our dog with us for the trips, but needed some occasional "doggy daycare" during the day. Doozydog was great!Everyone we met there was pleasant and helpful. They were very attentive and loving to our dog. They provide daycare up until 9 p.m. at a very affordable price, so it was convenient to drop our dog there, go out to an early dinner, and still have plenty of time to pick her up afterwards.

Doozy does a wonderful job of taking care of my little buddy. He can be a handful at times but the doozy team is well trained and competent and are more than up to the task. 10/10 will be back!

Update edit: My pup is always thrilled to go, but I’ve been frustrated with lack of accountability. She is supposed to receive a report card, and despite going for daycare and boarding, I have never once received an update. In February I had a boarding session that was unexpectedly extended, so I called and was offered for a manager to give me a ring and let me know how she was doing given the stay was longer than planned. I heard nothing. I picked her up, no report card. I emailed asking for one, no response for a week. I followed up. A woman called and apologized saying she would mark my account as 100% report card required. Another day of daycare and when I picked her up, I requested the report card and was told it would be emailed. Days go by. I email instead and am told the manager is out of town and they oversee all report cards so I’ll get one in a few days when the manager returns Wednesday. It is now the following Tuesday and no communication, no report card, no follow up. At my previous location on 18th Street, while it may not have had window access for the pups, I got an update on her every day. It doesn’t make a difference if the report card is a placebo, do what you say you will do. The continued lack of communication, despite being able to PAY to watch the webcams if you need, is not at all consistent with the way Doozydog seems to run the rest of the business. Unless the manager is the one personally observing the dogs all day, communicating with the owners shouldn’t be bottlenecked through one person. The usual care has glaring holes in it when I have to chase for promised elements of their business model on multiple occasions.*****************Recently moved to a different part of DC and was looking for a new daycare. I toured a few options and amSO PLEASED with how Doozydog! is working out for us.From the initial walk through to any phone call afterward, the team was delightful. Upon arrival for drop-off, the single staff member at the desk was immediately faced with 5-6 other dogs all checking in at the same time. Everyone was handled with ease, the line moved quickly, and the manager supported the intake spike. Logistics? Check.I like the split isn’t simply big or little. My medium dog had a grand time with dogs of her size, which automatically offered me more peace of mind. The tour of the facility was what locked me in… it seems brighter, higher quality care, and cleaner than other dog daycares we’ve attended or toured. The fact that there is a window with amazing natural light that flows throughout the space, along with interior windows to support a sense of transparency and safety was a win.Was expecting a “yes/no” on her acceptance and was pleasantly surprised by being invited to see her in action as she settled in right at home among her new pals. That gave me the confidence to choose Doozy!Dog as our new daycare home.
